>To those who think I'm just whining about every ache and pain. I apologize. I don't want to offend anyone. I'm in this for me, however and the support I've received here has helped me make it this far. I hope it can continue to help me become a success in kicking the habit.< Fud, I think you're doing great, and I for one was not offended by anything you said. Sharing your concerns and

This is me playing with a band in the Blue Line subway station in Boston Sunday. I'm feelin' definitely more healthy and grounded lately, having taken up Rawgosia's 80/10/10 'challenge.'

Hey Fud, Happy Birthday!!!, and congratulations on your resolve and determination through all of this. You are to be commended and should be really proud of yourself. ;-)I'm sorry your family is not being supportive-- that must really hurt. Maybe they are feeling insecure and a little bit afraid of losing the 'old' Fud. Change is really scary to people, especially when it's their close relative

elnatural, That's amazing! You are a delightful anomaly. As for who's rule it is that it has to happen, that's the BIG question that all human beings are searching for an answer to. We may never entirely figure out the riddle of happiness. I almost never get depressed anymore either, for which I'm incredibly grateful, because in earlier years I was not a very happy camper. Now I am either

Hi Fud, Have you considered just adding more walking? I ignored the benefits of walking (though I did walk a lot in my daily life) as a form of exercise until I started a summer job 2 years ago that required me to walk a few miles a week while on the job. Wow! The weight just came off like crazy, in a way that it didn't with all my fancy workouts at the gym. That got my attention! So now I mak

Frannie, Oh listen, I think you're way ahead of the game by doing the 5 Rites. Congratulations! I do them too and I know they are incredibly beneficial. This is about the fourth time in my life I've returned to them after a stretch of not doing them, and I always notice a big difference in how I look and feel, within less than 2 weeks. They give you a major energy boost and glow, along with st

aguadecoco-- Thank you for talking about this. It's a topic that's SO important, as so few people understand it, and traumatized individuals have a very tough time and receive a lot of judgment and criticism in our culture. Bless you for your wisdom, love and understanding. I experienced some traumatic events in my childhood too, and I'm so thankful that my partner is such a warm, wise, and pati

And also, a raw food eater, if they've been at it for awhile and are pretty detoxified, can probably assimilate the nutrients in any of these foods a whole lot better than a cooked food eater. That's a factor the mainstream health pundits will never consider: assimilation.

Hi Fud, (Welcome to the group, btw!). No, this is another one. There's a lot goin' on lately-- it can make you kind of dizzy! The almond snafu is being perpetrated by the 'Almond Board.'Codex is a comprehensive global agenda of a group of industry insiders and its full name is the Codex Alimentarius directive. We'll be hearing lots more about Codex in the near future. This bill is the FDA 'R

Guys, we still have a long way to go to fight Codex. In fact, the Senate hasn't even voted on the S. 1082 bill yet; they just added an amendment to it (with a 94-0 vote, which is pretty cool) that protects DSHEA. Bush has promised to veto the bill if any amendments are added to it, however, so the outcome remains to be seen. It's a great step forward, and shows the power of the people! No

Jodi- Wonderful workout advice! I just copied it to notepad on my desktop to review. Anaken- <if you are clean internally you can actually sauna before exercise...muscle head cesspools cant..now THATS intense.> Wow! Jonathan (husband) will be pleased to hear that. He does steam and sauna almost every day before he does his workout, and he loves it. He isn't that much into raw, but

>I really love the Hipocrates emphisis on wheatgrass, green juices and sprouts. I am using more and more sprouts all the time. I am back to developing an automatic sprouter that will produce lots of sprouts and wheatgass hydroponicly. It uses a rack system of very fine mesh bins. The smallest seeds won't go through. To prevent mold sprouts need very good ventilation and they can't sit in water

Rawgosia, Peisi is absolutely right about taking breaks between various types of work-outs. I forgot to mention that. The way my husband does it (he's a great body-builder who at 63 still has the body of a 30 year old, no kidding; whereas I'm an amateur) is he does some upper body one day, back on another, and lower body on another, abs on another day, and so on, some other upper body work on

Hi SU, I definitely feel-- most of the time anyway-- that eating raw helps to increase spiritual awareness. It's not just a matter of purifying the body; it's also (as I was telling someone on a spiritual healing list today) that I feel like if I get into junk food and stimulant food or drink, I'm stepping my vibration down to the level of the sense realm and its cravings, and I'm less attuned t

RawGosia, It can be a bit painful at first, but it gets better, really it does. ;-D Just go easy on yourself when you're hurting, but keep up the trips to the gym, and your body will eventually say to itself, "Dang, she means business! Sheesh, better get tough!"

I get these great, large bags of frozen wild blueberries and raspberries for my smoothies, and they seem really fresh. (Wyman's brand.) Go with what tastes and feesl right-- that's what I'd do anyway. (I'd buy fresh, but blueberries are about $5.99 a pint here; so are raspberries, and I can't afford it.)

Thomas and bronwynsun-- Yes, it's a abit outrageous! I live in Cambridge, MA right next-door to Boston (8 min. subway ride). We have outdoor markets in the summer, but the local farmer's markets are even more expensive than the co-op and Whole Foods. There is a good on in Boston on Fridays and Saturdays if you go really late in the day. Our co-op is MORE expensive on most items than Whol

I had another good day with the 'more greens, less fat' emphasis, but I confess I'm not up to posting all of the particulars, and will probably only do so sporadically from here on in. Might get someone to take some pics at some point--my bod has shrunken a little bit, I think.

These 'harmonization' (emphasis on the 'harm' part) agendas taking place all over the world just give me such a sad feeling. It's the presence of a kind of low level grief always in the background, and I have to stay pretty focused on my Inner Being or I can get a bit morose and definitely a bit anxious over it. The night before last I dreamed that there was a loud alarm (like a fire alarm)

jgunn, That's a drag! But I guess it's an American petition, so even though it's a global issue, they only want Americans to sign. Are Canadians generally aware of Codex, or are they as clueless as Americans? I'm trying to assess what's going on in other countries, and there's not a lot of information out there. I know Codex has already taken the wrecking ball to the alternative/holistic in

I've noticed that since I added more greens to my diet and cut back on the fat a little bit (no more Lara bars!!), and I'm eating almost exclusively fruits and vegetable fruits I've been having very vivid, colorful dreams that I remember almost completely upon awaking. This hasn't been the case for awhile, so I'm wondering if there's a connection-- probably! Also I'm feeling more centered a

Jgunn and learningtofly, I love your visions, which are very similar to mine. I'd like to add that I see a world in which-- ...the greed principle has been bred out of mankind (not artificially, just by gradually advancing cultural awareness and spiritual evolution) ...politicians take very seriously their role as public servants ...'small and local' is once again a cherished commercia
