Is anyone here a naturopath or homeopath? Or use their services? I've never been to either. And really, only recently have I learned that these can be a career. I'm thinking about studying holistic medicine. I'm imagining they work like a "standard" doctor, but maybe no lab tests, injections, and bloodwork. And prescribing herbal medicine rather than pharmacetical chemicals.

Wow, what a question to post up but I'm really curious...What do you use to wash your lady parts? I was thinking of using Dr. Bonners liquid castile hemp and tea tree oil soap. I used the baby formula last night but I'm concerned if it is really getting things sanitized since it is all oil. I know that tea tree oil has a lot of helpful properties like anti-bacterial, anti-microbial, can help with

Well, the bitter part is from scraping the insides of the leaves. The rest of it is pretty tasteless. But if the insides of your leaves are not bitter, then maybe it is the difference in varieties. I don't really know. Sorry! I also get huge leaves, like maybe a foot long, in the north east.

Does anyone have this? As far as I understand it ranges from a mild mouth area tingling to full out allergic reaction. It's caused because our mouths are sensitive to certain raw fruit and veg. Also if you suffer from pollen allegries, it is because the protein structure of these foods are similar to the pollens. I think I have this. I notice that many times after I eat raw foods I get this t

Hi guys. I'm in Queens, NY. I've been easing into the raw diet for about almost 3 months. I'd say maybe I'm about 60 - 70% raw, due to a SAD partner, but I have enjoyed the change in my health and mood. I am aiming for a larger percent in time. I have yet to eat at one of these raw food restauraunts, but have been having fun learning new recipies. Welcome to the forum! It's helped me alot.

try aloe vera. It's good for healing your insides and is supposed to halt colon cancer. you can take the leaves, cut off the thorns, take out the gel & scrape the insides of the leaves and throw all the clear stuff in a blender. I put it in my green smoothies. the gel you scrape off inside of the leaf is bitter, but the other part is tasteless.

Day 4- I am still having some hunger pangs. No headaches though. I made cantelope and spinach juice. Yummy. I also juiced tomatos. Interesting. It would have probably been nice as a broth, but a solid drink was a bit too much for me. I've been taking senna tea every night. That night I drank another cleanser. Day 5- Pinnaple, Aloe, spinach, and nectarines. The markets near me sell giagantic alo

Day 2- evening- I had a mild headaches. I juiced some mangos last night, but it turned out so thick, I didn't know if it counted as juice. Too bad because I love mangos so much. I froze it instead to have sorbet after this is over. Day 3- I juiced a bunch of spinach, apples, and a few nectarines. It's too bad that I put in all this fruit and it made a small amount of juice. I will definitely

Jgunn and Joewood, I did hear about the grapefruit juice and antibiotic, but thanks for being thoughtful enough to put out the info. Oh and I know a "juice fast" isn't a traditional fast. But for lack of a better word... Oh and i juiced the mangos...but the "juice" was so thick I didn't know if it really counted as juice. Bummer because I love mangos so much. So I froze

I'm on day two of my juice fast. I am hoping to go for 14 days. The night prior to my fast I tried to satisfy my cravings in a raw way so I would not crave these things on the fast. I had avocados, cabbage, mushrooms, and jicama all soul food seasoned. I drank senna tea that night. Day 1- I do not have a juicer and can't really afford one soon. So, I blended green papaya and pear and added

Thanks for the well wishes la veronique. Suspendedindefinitely, I am on a juice fast. I found out that you can juice fast for 14 days without effecting fertility. I am on my 2nd day and so far no diahrrhea for me. I hope it stays that way. LOL. I senna tea at night which is a laxative but I don't take my pill anytime near that. So far I have to say that this is way better than master

Good Point. I know that there are adverse effects to birth control....I've been through a couple brands that have given me bad side effects. I have a huge fear of pregnancy before I'm ready. Mine is a very low dose and doesn't effect me like the others before did. I figure it's worth it to take that small amount of chemicals in order to have peace of mind or my life changed entirely.

This might be a silly question but....I was planning to start a fast tomorrow and I was wondering if it might alter the effectiveness of my birth control pills. Does anyone know about this? Thanks.

Hey Volcolmchik. I tried it and it worked like a charm. I used jicama marinated in a little olive oil, sea salt, and white pepper. Then I shredded cabbage and made a cilantro guacamole. Since I didn't use a wrap, it was really more like a fish taco salad. But it was really yummy. Thanks!

Hey guys, I'm going to start my first juice fast this week. I'm wondering how long I should do it for to get sufficiently cleansed. I've done the Master Cleanse a few years ago, but I never made it past 6 days. I'm hoping that I will succeed this time. I think I will because I'm so tired of these detox symptoms. I feel like I've been detoxing forever and I figure it's because I haven't suffien

Hi everyone! I have a serious craving for fish tacos. Does anyone know of a subsitution other than seeds, nuts, or eggplant that would soak up flavor? I figure maybe mushrooms or avocados might work, but i'm kinda of tired of using them in all my recipes. Also, I'm hoping to find something that I don't have to stick in a dehydrator for a couple hours. Thanks guys!

Those pop up figures are little toothpicks. It's supposed to help children eat without touching the food directly. I love cute bentos. It's a way that Japanese mothers show their children how much they love them. When I have kids I'll def. make those to encourage them to eat well.

Hi, I am trying to avoid food high in arginine. I would like to sprout garbanzos. I notice that they are high in arginine unsprouted. However, I noticed that the lysine/ arginine ratio changes when sprouted. I've looked on the internet, but I can't seem to find any information regarding the garbanzo. Does anyone know if the ratio changes in sprouted garbanzos? Thank you!

Hi everyone! Yesterday I ate my first srouted grains. I made Quinoa sprouts and was pretty happy because for the first time I wasn't hungry again in an hour. I love the way that raw food makes me feel, but I am hungry all the time! I feel like I'm getting food obsessed and am always thinking about what I should eat next. The quinoa was pretty satisfying, but I'd hate to eat too much of it. Before

Do not take Gardasil! There have been cases with horrible problems! One girl broke out in a terrible rash all down her leg, cases of Bells Palsy, even death. Do a google or Youtube search on this. I saw a video on it. I don't really trust the medical industry and this is gfood proof not too. They are touting this as a nercessary. I remember there was a debate about making this mandatory for young
