My pleasure, SueZ, I'm glad to share. I got more news today. My mom tells me that my dad is having a hard time eating a lot, eating more times during the day and drinking more juices. I guess this is the main and the first problem that people coming to this lifestyle have - eating enough. He also finds it difficult to drink a lot of juices, as he is drinking already a lot of tea for his pro

My menu for yesterday, April 28, 2015: - 3 red Idared apples - 10 sweet and juicy mandarins - zoodles with zucchini tomato dill sauce, next to a salad of local cucumbers, red radishes, fresh dill, lemon juice The salad was so nice, so refreshing, I loved it. I used 5 large zucchini for the zoodles, they turned into a huge meal, delicious as well. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

My mom told me that my dad is recovering great, the remaining right lung has recovered and expanded almost in the whole rib cage. The x-ray he did after 30 days from surgery turned out great, the doctor was pleased. My dad is feeling pretty well, still coughing and having sensitivity in the respective area, he is kind of thin and not gaining yet that much of the weight he had before this happ

Thank you for expressing your concern, SueZ. I'm doing ok, I haven't posted anymore as I've been doing my treatment and getting a lot outside in the sun, so I've been spending less / no time on my laptop, not even in the evening when I was back home. As far as I know, my dad is doing ok also, I haven't asked my mom recently about him, but I'm sure she would've told me if something went wron

Yesterday I went shopping in a very large supermarket near the entrance to our town, and for the first time I saw "face to face" and touched the following: plantains (rather greenish, very large, about 400 g each; red bananas, small and thich, similar to apple bananas or finger bananas; fresh young coconuts, large, greenish skin, but coated with a white transparent wax, especially on th

Yes, I know what you mean and I'm grateful you brought up this subject. It's a very fine line between not caring if you gain weight and worrying about and even getting obsessed with not gaining weight, I've been there, done that. There were times when I wanted to have one more bite, but I was scared not to gain weight from that just one bite. It was like I wanted to eat more, but there was

Thank you, Panchito. Unfortunately, this happens when I'm typing my post in the respective box, so I'm using the normal characters, meaning just plain text like I usually do. I've been copying my menu from WordPad recently, that's where I saved it, as I don't have Microsoft Word installed on my laptop, so maybe this can be one cause, but other than that I used plain text, which also gave

The capsules I'm taking have both calcium and D2, I'm taking them for the D2 and not the calcium, I'm not even calcium deficient, my calcium levels are good as shown by my blood work. The capsules have small quantities of calcium and D2. The calcium comes from a red calcified algae. As soon as I finish them, I'll get only D2, I found ones with just D2. I've been using cronometer to track my ca

I've been trying to post in my food diary, but every time it keeps saying "Phorum Database Error", it's been like this on/off and now for the past weeks. However, I sometimes am able to post in the topics of this section. Do you have any idea why is this happening? Is it because of my laptop or what could be the problem? Thank you so much. Btw, I love the new appearance of the

I could try one week of juice fast, but I couldn't do another water fast. I did a 5 day one in the past, I was feeling good mentally and physically, I was even working hard at the time, but in the end I felt weak, plus I would just need my food. I am skeptical about a juice fast though, as some say that a juice fast will cause weight gain afterwards. In case I decide to do it, I need to really do

Great news again. So far, my mom told me that she and my dad decided to not take the route of chemotherapy, but focus on veggies. She didn't mention a vegan diet, but a vegetarian diet with a lot of raw food (meaning raw fruits/veggies/juices I guess). I do hope they don't want to include animal products like the regular vegetarian diet with dairy/eggs/maybe fish. They will go to the 30 days chec

I used to make a lot of raw salt-free sauerkraut. It was usually ready in about 2 weeks, but depending on how sour and tangy you want it, you can let it ferment some more. Taste it and see if it's tangy enough. You can let it ferment for about 1 month, but I believe it becomes too soft if left too much time to ferment, it happened to me. I liked it to be tangy but still crunchy. My sauerkraut

Thank you, Morgan. I also thought about the Calcium supplement being one cause of my gallblader issue, along with all the other reasons. But the doctor said the Calcium supplement wasn't the cause, as I only took one capsule/day, so that wasn't much. It's a mixture of calcium and D2. I haven't taken it since the attack though. I'm planning to start taking it again today, then take a 1 month break

Thank you, Morgan and KFCA. I'll look it up, but I guess that $350 is kind of pricey for my parents right now...at least from what I know, considering all the surgery expenses and all. I'll read about it to see exactly what it is, I never heard of it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

On March 31 I went to the family doctor with the ultrasound results. She recommended gallblader medication (some is just a mixture of rosemary oil, mint oil and black pepper - obviously, packed in a gelatin capsule), medication for bloating/gas/constipation (mostly is medicinal coal) and plenty of still water (she said that according to my weight, I need to drink 1.5 l water/day). Since then,

I have good news about my dad, he is recovering wonderfully, eating well, walking, going to church, sleeping well, not coughing that much, breathing better. Him and my mom are drinking lots of fresh raw juices and eating lots of raw salads. Since it's Lent, they're not consuming any animal products, my mom told me that my dad isn't even in the mood for eating meat, his body doesn't want meat. And

Today I got the results of urine test and ultrasound (I gave the urine sample on Monday and today I had the ultrasound). The results: 1. I have no urinary infection, no important sediments (just the rare usual ones), density is lower and the PH is acid (6, as opposed to 8 which I had last August). 2. I have a birth malfunction of the gallblader (a curved, bended, wrinckled gallblader), with

Yes, I thought about that too, that's one of the reasons I started making my own sauerkraut, I saw some videos saying fermented veggies are great for digestion. I guess there are/will always be different opinions on this subject of fermented veggies... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I went to the family doctor on Friday, she consulted me, I told her the story, and she said that the spinach juice was definitely the cause. She also suspected a urinary infection, though I had/have no symptoms, but I read that some of the symptoms I had could be of a urinary infection as well. She told me where to go for a general abdominal ultrasound. She also told me to take an antibiotic

My dad had the surgery yesterday at around 12:30 pm, it lasted until around 4 pm I believe, it was a successful surgery, no complications. The doctor had to remove 2 lobes of the right lung, so it remained only the larger lobe. The doctor said that he had to remove both lobes as he found a nodule in the second lobe, so he couldn't risk letting it in there, because it might've been infected as wel

Thank you, SueZ, for your reply, indeed it's true, I'm sorry I haven't read when you said this same thing, but I'm glad you share this opinion. As much as I'm still tempted to make sauerkraut again and as much as I do miss the taste, I think it's a good idea to stich with fresh fruits and veggies. Coconutcream, that's a very good question. I guess it's kept alive by those good bacteria, just l
