Hi Dulset, sorry to hear about the frozen shoulder. I know it is painful. I had a bad shoulder, originating I think from an injury to rotator cuff. Never went to a doctor, but it kept getting worse so I went to an acupuncturist. Fortunately for me, it worked, like a miracle. I had had this condition for about 9 months and it prevented sleep, etc. Had hardly any range of motion, no strengt

Hi Jody--Hello hello. That is such an intense childhood and history...and here you are. I'm glad things have changed, are changing. That decision to fly away(usually discouraged by therapists, etc, as a "geographic" ) seems to have really worked for you. That is amazing you did that, flew to Nepal! Wow. What an adventure. Sounds like it was the thing to do and a big transitioning

Fascinating! Hello Troysantos...what an interesting thing you're doing--- And it seems it is a good environment and ambience to embark on a raw journey. Well, it all sounds highly transformative to me. That was interesting : your expectations of the doughy things being available and then you got that mountain of fruit instead! Mmmmmm. How I understand your cravings. And how I also ru

Hi again Howlingmoon! Listen, you have such a great fun advantage! Your saying you don't know what half the produce is, what to do with it----it may seem frustrating to you now, but I smile and think, Oh that lucky gal. How fun! You are going on a big discovery of real food! So many flavors are going to be new. Talk about a FRESH START! The first time I went raw, I had been in such a

I am giggling...Starfruit and Rawfood are in LOOOOVE. I did 4 days of fasting and I feel very good. Today at about 10 a.m. I ate 2 kiwis...I was surprised to read they have a large amt of fiber (unless they included the peels, they wouldn't do that would they, lol,?) My throat hurts a bit, there is like a web of mucous there with kiwi, I think. I drank water trying to move it along

Hi Noff----I'm popping in to say hello and keep up the good raw way of eating. I am trying to say hello to everyone eventually---but no one can do like Earthangel, eh? She is the Angel of the Forums!!!! Oranges are one of my favorite fruits. I have eaten 5 at a time, no problem. Usually I eat from 1 to 3. I've heard a few things too about not eating too many citrus fruits, but as for no

Well, great day. I had a glass of apple juice (red delicious, to put it mildly!). I planned to eat later. I even made the salad, but I felt so comfortable not eating I decided to eat tomorrow. In the evening, I had a glass of carrot celery juice. I drank slowly, swishingly. If I had started this fast earlier I would have gone further -- or not =)--because I felt so serene today. Also,

Hi Monark--enjoy the Tai Chi tournament. I started classes once, but couldn't continue because of money. I have the tapes of Terry Dunn, short and long form...I watch him do the Form, once inawhile..so beautiful. The melon I really love is called Galia or something like that. If you see one by that name, try it. Make sure it is ripe and you will be transported! I called Vita Mix about th

Hiya again I fasted another unplanned day (4th) because I lost the icky phony hunger sensations and I just felt so dang serene!!!! =) I have been on vacation and return to work on Monday. I wish I had started this fast at beginning of vacation so I could've gone as long as I felt comfortable fasting. Today was such a pleasure, after yesterday's difficulty (the notorious day 3). Anyway,

Hello Tiffany! Congratulations---that is something to be proud and excited about---especially faced with what usually is such temptation! Great: Keep up the enthusiasm; enjoy your food! Enthusiasm and success and support are great propellers! I'm doing better, too, now and am soooo excited about being back on raw path. It is quite a fascinating experience and I feel ready to be in it

Hi Dear Howlingmoon-- Welcome! You're doing the right thing! Just wanted to welcome you and wish you well. Right now, I would suggest you do a lot of reading. Books and books, with an open mind. There are a lot of conflicting ideas around, but you must start somewhere...see what appeals to you now and start out. Keep reading---if you can't get books right now there is so much online. So

Hi Tiffany---isn't it nice??? (not your leg, though, sorry---but, it IS making you rest!) Happy for you that you are 100% and loving it. Just to tell you about the first time I went raw, and was 100% right away, after a very poor diet---I expected a massive detox attack, but I didn't have anything but sheer delight for many many weeks. A few minor things here and there, but nothing compar

San Diego has got to be pretty high on the list, right Earthangel? Besides People's Co-op, fantastic weekly Farmer's Markets in two locations that I know of, lots of Whole Foods, Henry's, now rawfood Cilantro Live restaurant in Hillcrest location (just found that out from EA!!!), Nature's First Law is here for quick shipping of books, etc---even some of the large chain grocery stores carry a s

Good Morning, good morning, good morning! I feel renewed! I feel so good. I actually feel lighter, clearer, happier, more supple even. My neck has been arthritic lately (2 mos ago had 5 chiro treatments for some relief) and usually is so stiff in a.m., and this morning it is considerably freer, looser. My whole body feels more open, my mind is clearer, my mood is higher. The bloat an

Hi to you, Starfruit. I'm new here, and thought I'd pop in and introduce myself and wish you all the best---sounds like things have been a little rough lately, but you sound dedicated to being raw. I believe that is a key thing for all of us to feel better and healthier in every way. Without good health, how can we appreciate anything? I know rawfoods works on balancing us on all levels...and

P.S. Oh, I just wanted to add...you don't need to put OJ in the smoothie! You can use anything...you had an apple and some other fruit (I can't remember right now what it was), and you could have used those for the smoothie with the banana! My morning smoothies vary all the time. Always a banana or two, and then...whatever. Lately I have been throwing in a handful of goji berries and a h

Hello Monark! Two days off and Melon Mania----sounds super! I Love Watermelon. And there is a melon I've gotten at People's Co-op that I don't know the name of...like a canteloupe, but it is green inside and it is ambrosia. Nothing like a perfectly ripe melon. Unless it is a perfectly ripe papaya...or unless it is a perfectly ripe cherimoya...or perfectly ripe cherries, mmmm, or.... o

Meow! greetings! I'm so glad you posted at my place, and thanks for the encouragement. Yes, this time is going to be IT, no relapse. I've been thinking about what happened (instead of having to think how the heck to go from SAD to RAW, I'm examining how the heck I went from RAW to SAD!) (unfortunately) I see a few elements involved and I have made a promise to myself that I am going for

Hi Mona, Just read your journal and want to pop in and say I enjoyed it and it sounds real good. You are definitely on the right track and doing so well. As I was reading about the cravings for those herbs and spices and the specific health challenges you have (ie, the hyperthyroid) it came to my mind that the cravings might not be natural and the spices might be aggravating the problem

Good day after morning hours when I was cold and feeling icky. I got back in bed and slept a couple more hours. Woke up feeling much better. As I was going to sleep I had intense cravings for some Very Wicked Things that I won't even put into print, heh. I could smell, see, taste...extremely bothersome. So powerful. (They went away, thank goodness) Throughout day, water. Very strong

Hi Monark---reading your journal and want to compliment you for your good work and enthusiasm and all your other healthy lifestyle interests! Are you still indoor gardening or has it moved outside now? That is really cool that you made an indoor garden for vegetables. I've been trying to compost a bit, and I also use pulp from juicing which is already so fine that it is "advanced mat

Day 2 Bf---water. I woke up very hot from toxins stirred up and on the move, nose and throat full of mucous. Headache--not painful, just quirky sensations here and there and sometimes a soft dull discomfort. NO APPETITE AT ALL!!! BINGO! Body wisdom at work. I feel good! These symptoms are definite, but at the moment at least I don't feel sick. For ex, one could say 'oh, she's we

Thanks for checking in, Earthangel! Yeah, I made it past the hurdle...and have drunk some more orange juice (the bite and swallow method works just fine!) (I chop up the solid for the compost. ) I was even thinking of juicing some apples, but will refrain. Just water and some citrus juice once in awhile. My tongue is super coated. I feel SO-OO-OO-OOO HUNGRY!!!!! And restless. And h

Good day fasting. No difficulty---easier than yesterday with the constant stomach runblings and phony "hunger" pains! That was worse and I ate all day! At 3:00 I drank a little orange...quartered it and bit into it and swallowed. They are so juicy there is hardly any difference between eating or drinking them. Oranges are definitely one of my favorite favorites! This got me o
