Wine is nothing but rotten (fermented) grape juice. If you want a REAL high, you could drink the REAL thing: fresh grape juice. It will give you a natural high and get you feeling happy and giggly with no adverse effects. I am not kidding! Try it. . . it's wonderful! : ) Love, Julie

Wow, you guys. I can't believe that no one has brought up the point of cooked vs. raw food in the nightshades. I am sure there are problems when people eat cooked tomato sauce, tomato soup, baked potatoes, french fries, eggplant parmesan, etc. It is the cooking that deranges and intensifies the "poisons" in the plants. Just like smoking pot (weed, marijuana) turns a plant into a dru

I really think that if you saw cashews growing in Nature, and tried to get at one, you would see that they are toxic and almost impossible to open (encased in a very hard shell and surrounded by gooey black icky stuff.) You could google it so you could see some pictures to understand what I mean. : ) Love, Julie

Hi, liberation. . . I love this beautiful post you wrote. I understand and agree with every part of it and your thinking. I will contact you privately to share some of my thoughts on this matter, as I am also moving in the same direction. I, too, wonder if there is any place left in this world where one can be free and safe and live in agreement with Nature. : ) Love, Julie

There is another possibility that no one has brought up. It is the alliesthenic taste change. Actually, this happens with all fruit, but it does seem to be more noticeable with pineapple. When your body has had enough, the fruit will become bland or bad tasting, signalling that your body does not want anymore. It is very cool, really. I agree that it is a good idea to eat slowly, and wit

Hi, Dancer. . . Very interesting! Well, if I were you, I believe I would LOVE to eat very simply for a while. I would probably choose to live on melons and oranges for a while. I've been mostly living on melons myself lately, anyway. The cantaloupes and honeydews are outstanding right now. And I imagine that if you were to do that, you would start feeling better in very short order,

Hi, Phylis. . . You are very inspiring. You are doing so beautifully. I have this little thing I say that I hope will be meaningful to you: It hurts going in and it hurts coming out. (But once you get it out it feels sooo much better!) : ) Love, Julie

Great discussion, everyone! Here is the way I think about it for myself: I feel that I mainly need 3 things from my food: living water, "sugar," and "minerals." I need all 3, but sometimes I need more of one than the others. If I am dehydrated, my body needs more living water and watermelon or oranges will be very appealing. If I need a bit extra sugar, then bananas

With all due respect, I have to say that the 2 doctors do not look healthy and vibrant to me. I am not attracted to do whatever it is they are doing. On the other hand, I AM interested in doing whatever Dave Mason is doing, as he looks young and healthy and alive. His skin and eyes are glowing. And his mind is certainly sharp and intelligent and creative. I do not concern myself with tes

I feel heartened and uplifted reading all these beautiful responses. I, too, feel a need and desire to be quietly in Nature. The way I would explain my experience is that now I feel so good, I don't want to be distracted by TV or even books most of the time. I realize that what was going on before was that I was using TV or books to distract myself from how bad I was feeling, to actually p

Hey, Tanawana. . . I'm right on track with you. Yesterday I had pineapple, watermelon, cantaloupe, and bananas! Oh, I also had some pickling cucumbers in there as well. I found these amazing cantaloupe for $1.99 each! I'm going back for more. You know how it is. . . Love, Julie

Hi, Hempy. . . There is something Dr. Doug Graham says that I think is really cool and is true, from my own experience. He says that if you are craving ANYTHING besides fruit (and greens, if you like them) it is because you are not eating ENOUGH fruit. He says that if you look at cooked and processed food and any of it looks like something edible and nourishing, you are not eating enoug

I go through phases with bananas. In general, I tend to eat more bananas in the winter and early spring, understandably. My favorite way to eat bananas is to take them, one at a time, and mush them up in a bowl with my hand until they are liquid. I find that the taste is much more delicious and I like the consistency better, too. I like to do it one at a time because each banana has its' o

Hey, great thread everyone! After wearing earrings every day for ~30 years, I woke up one morning a few months ago and became aware that my body was clearly telling me it did NOT want me to hang metal objects from my ears anymore! My awareness and sensitivity have definitely heightened around all this. So I haven't worn earrings now for several months and I love massaging my earlobes now. I

Hey there, A Iyer. . . Bless your heart. I understand your concern and discomfort. If it makes you feel better, I will tell you that when I first began experimenting with "raw" I became VERY sick and had one day when I felt so dizzy and out of it that I thought I was dying. My body let loose with lots of diarrhea and I was shaking and my tongue and lips became swollen and I felt

About the sensitivity issue. . . I think that as a person becomes more healthy and "clean," they become more correctly sensitive. It's a good thing to have a body sensitive to harmful substances. Think about someone who smokes. . . their body has adapted to the smoke and they can't feel how harmful it is to them. They are numb to it. But if you or I were to smoke a few cigare

Dear Gosia, I think it is good you are having this experience. I, too, fell out of the fruit tree too many times to count! It finally became ridiculous and painful and downright boring and tedious to me. And really, it also showed me unequivocably that salt is a poison and a super addictive one, at that. I wouldn't have known that so absolutely had I not been "clean" and then
