My periods became lighter after turning vegan-lighter, pain free for the most part and lasts about 3-4 days (all together, to be completely "clear" For me, it was a big improvement. It`s even better, much better when I`m high raw and eat lots of fresh fruits and vegetables and I`m not too stressed. Stress makes everything worse.

gadjoemi you don`t need a dehydrator. You can use your oven on a low temperature with the door open. I read about raw foodists who do that and it turns out fine. Flax crackers taste wonderful

I love my VitaMix-it`s noisy but I love it so much that I don`t really mind anymore.. I have many friends who are very happy with an ordinary, simple, inexpensive blender too... But the noise of these powerful blenders is not all that bad really...

she said when interviewed some time ago- forget carrots, they`re boring, I eat raw chocolate for breakfast, lunch and dinner" That did it for me, really... She also said that nutritionists claim that watercress, pumpkin seeds and blueberries are superfoods but not according to her. It`s all about the maca, chocolate etc.. And I know she encourages people to use greens from their garden

Hello Is it possible to have a face breakout due to massage oils/body butter ( organic, vegan, cold pressed) used on the body-excluding the face. I notice that I`ve had breakouts on my face a few times in the last few months and it just so happened to be around the time I massage body butters and oils on the rest of my body.Is there, could there be any connection?? Thanks.

I`ve heard so much about urine therapy. Has anyone tried it? Does it really help? I always thought of urine as something toxic as the body gets rid of it but supposedly it`s very healthy. I`d rather hear about it from someone on here and then try it..maybe. Thanks!

I forgot to say that she says not to "bitch" at people and send them "love" but that`s what she does most of the time anyway-bitch about those that may not do everything she preaches. I read somewhere on her poem where she says about other people ( those that are destroying the world or something) "Stop that boring job. Stop bitching about other people, stop shouting at e

Hello I`ve been drinking green smoothies and I know it`s important to change the type of greens we consume. I use an organic mixed greens ( different types of lettuce, spinach, arugula etc) I drink about 3 cups worth of greens per day. Do I need to rotate my greens or am I ok because I consume a bunch of mixed varied greens everyday. Thanks so much!

I agree with dream earth. I used to really like her but she suddenly changed a few years back-from eating a sensible, economical raw diet that can be supplemented a little bit, she`s now completely into raw chocolate and supplements and her flawed logic of stating that these foods are "ancient" so she doesnt care what`s in them. She even complained that people would rather buy a box ful

Was just reading more about Gorillas and here is what they say about wild versus captive gorillas " The maximum life span of mountain gorillas in the wild is difficult to estimate. The longest-lived gorillas in captivity reached ages of thirty to thirty-five years. No gorilla has been seen in the wild that looked as aged as the oldest captive gorillas, so the life span in the wild is probab

I read and was told once by a raw foodist who advocated that everyone take a B12 supplement that the biggest group of b12 deficiencies occur in meat-eating women. I don`t know if that is true.

If you did splurge on cooked foods please make sure that the pace at which you are eating raw foods is suitable and comfortable for you. Many people go back and forth eating cooked foods and then eating raw which is not very good. Simply adding more raw food is much healthier if it means you won`t feel a need to splurge. Slow and steady and all that You know yourself best, do whatever feels go

It doesn`t personally seem logical to me to eat fat at the end of the day when activity level slows down and the body is ready to rest. I know David Wolfe also suggests eating fat at dinner time but I still wonder if fat isn`t better during the afternoon rather than lunch when there is still time to indulge in physical activity? The amount of raw fat we eat is a lot more than we would in the wi

Hi from shazzie Mesquite meal is a traditional Native American food produced by gathering ripened seed-pods from the mesquite tree and grinding them into a fine powder. Used as a staple food for centuries by desert dwellers, this high protein meal contains good quantities of calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron and zinc, and is rich in the amino acid lysine as well. It has a sweet, rich, molasse

I believe Storm and Jinjee-they are absolutely wonderful and sincere. Also you can`t ever really "trust" anybody without giving them a bit of the benefit of the doubt, who knows? Even the people selling you supplements ( they are also a business remember?) might tell you they are healthy but they may end up causing more harm than good.

I agree about the B12 and stuff. I`ve just ordered some supplements for myself. I don`t think meat is necessary if one is willing to take a supplement or two and include a wide variety of foods-lots of greens, some fruit, nuts, seeds, fat.. But that`s just me.. I guess we`re each on our journey and we do what works for us.

Djatchi.. I understand how you feel. I feel the same way too. The problem is that I always hear someone tell me how a revered raw foodist experienced very average health. That to me says a whole lot. A good, unrefined, balanced vegan diet will ward off heart disease and many illnesses but I`m looking towards the raw vegan diet to give me that extra energy, extra vibrancy so if long term raw food
