I would guess 10% also. Lettuce, tomato and possible onion on a burger. A few bites from a dinner salad that comes with an entre. And most would seem to be mashed potatos, frech fries, baked potato or something else fried/baked/broiled/boiled. ~raine~

I'm on day 18 of my juice fast. The first 5 days I noticed I needed sleep and would fall asleep by 10pm which is very unlike me. Since then, I've been getting by very easily on 5-6 hours of sleep. I don't use an alarm clock - I simply wake up very easily. ~raine~

You need to research doing a juice fast. Here are some links: Great way to keep track of your nutrition/calories -- it's free And lastly, Joel Osteen did 3 sermons on health that are excellent. The video clips are an hour long but I just scroll to the 30 minute mark which is about where he starts - the first half hour is just singing and stuff. Scroll

THIS seems to be the one subject that has the least info on it -- how to preserve one's hair color for the longest possible time. I have natural auburn and I want to keep it natural for as long as possible because otherwise it's going to cost me a bloody fortune to get it colored right! If anyone has any feedback on maintainng natural color - this vain, shallow girl would greatly appreciate

Use Stevia. It's a natural plant from the rainforest, safe for diabetics and 30x sweeter than sugar. You can buy it at any health food store. I've used the brand "Stevia Plus!" for several years. ~raine~

I've not drunk milk in ages - the only dairy I have is something like feta cheese on a greek salad. I did notice that I could drink a glass of milk from Whole Foods and be fine (I never tried more than 1 glass). But if I drank milk from a normal grocery -- a full blown cold the very next day -- every single time. ~raine~

Confuzed....PLEASE just make up your mind! 72 hours ago you were embracing McDonalds because you needed the meat for your sex drive and now you are swearing yet again you are raw because you have no sex drive. Give the 20 questions a rest. Eat some things and see how it affects your own body. Not everyone is going to respond the same way -- some prefer all fruit, some all veg and some a

Seems like hair loss is part of detox for some. I've eaten about an 80% raw diet for several months (the balance is fish, rice, steamed vegs). Right now I'm on day 13 of a 30 day juice fast and I've noticed no difference in my hair. Every other day I do take a tablespoon of extra virgin coconut oil because I admit to being a bit vain when it comes to the hair. It's very thick and to my waist

I apologize in advance for this post -- it will be unlike me, but after reading this I have to say something. Is there anyone else that thinks Confuzed is just yanking everyone's chain? Wasn't it just a couple days ago that C raved about how sexually arounsed he/she was on the meat laden SAD diet and now this thread is yelping about no sex drive? Just my .02 ~raine~

The right diet is paramount to keeping a strong immune system. A man I know who is 66, had been feeing poorly for a couple weeks and thought he was having an extended summer cold. He then collapsed in his office. After being admitted to ICU, it took 5 different specialists almost 10 days to determine he has West Nile Virus -- and it seems WNV is far more prevelant than the news would have

I can't say that anyone has noticed because my beloved has been on a motorcycle trip to the west coast while I've been doing this. I can tell you that I feel calmer. But there have been times where I do feel like my emotional & spiritual self are detoxing as well. ~raine~

Just off the wires.... TORONTO (Reuters) - Two people are paralyzed after drinking botulism-contaminated carrot juice, some of which was still found on store shelves 10 days after a Canada-wide recall, a Toronto health spokesperson said on Tuesday. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency on September 30 warned consumers not to drink Bolthouse Farms 100 percent Carrot Juice, Earthbound Farm

I agree with Bryan. To keep me motivated to achieve my 30 day juice fast (I'm on day 8), I do a lot of reading online about the benefits of raw/juicing. Many sites emphasize the fact that when eating a low calorie raw/juice diet, the body begins to cannabalize the disease and toxins within itself. This does include plaque in the blood veins. Another comment is that it allows the heart to sl

Since you've experienced spiritual purging as well, I'll go ahead and share this. I had a serious physical/spiritual/emotional event happen to me - it went on for about 10 minutes. I wasn't scared, it felt like my emotions were detoxing as well. It stopped as fast as it began -- literally within a moment. Afterwards I just felt dazed. So then I was thinking, "what is happening to me

I drink a lot of water daily with lime (my personal preference over lemon), green tea and usually 1-2 glasses of juice. Either carrot/celery/garlic or orange/blueberry/banana. I'm going for 30 days and I'm now at Day 8. My tongue still has a slight whitish color to it which means my body is still detoxing but it's not as bad as it was 3-4 days ago. I initially did this for vanity health r

I'm on day 7. Only 23 days to go! So far so good. I was doing this for health reasons so I have been surprised by the emotional/spiritual side of things that have arisen. I've also had a couple days where I have wanted to sleep a fair amount and I'm tired by 10:30pm -- I'm normally very nocturnal by nature. I've also lost 11 pounds and 7.5 inches....yeah! I am doing pilates every morning

Veronique... I did a quick search and while I didn't find the full version online, I did find a clip: Love & Rockets is 3/4 of Bauhaus which is the band that really began the gothic rock movement in England in 1979. L&R is a fantastic band and they have some great CD's -- particularly Express and Earth, Sun, Moon. ~raine~

I do my best to maintain an 80% raw diet. For those of you that have sucessfully fasted for 28-40 days, have you noticed anything different about your body towards the end of the fast that you don't normally notice if a short fast is done? I've accomplished 3-5 days fasts and am now on day 6 of a 30 day fast that I hope to complete. I can't recall where - it was on a different site thoug

Not really. Fresh juice must be consumed within 30 minutes of being made in order for you to receive the benefits. Drinking Odwalla would just fill you up for a bit but it wouldn't provide nutrition you need during a serious fast. Personally, I wouldn't recommend a water fast unless you are seriously hard core. Granted in Biblical times they did water fasts but they didn't have to deal with
