Thanks so much, Bryan. I've always valued your opinions and advice. *HUGS* I'm feeling a bit better today, but the burning feeling in my stomach isn't very nice. I'm resting a whole lot, to allow my body to focus on healing. It's amazing that after a few years raw, I'm still detoxing stuff! That's what it definitely feels like though, to be craving things from childhood like that. Than

Thanks, kleinphi. I don't think I'll be going 23 days on this water fast, since it's my first time and I'm not feeling all that great. I absolutely LOVED the Master Cleanse before I was a raw foodie, however. That was very easy for me to do. As for the salt water flush, I couldn't do that on the MC and I definitely don't feel drawn to doing it right now. I know a lot of people feel great with the

Hi everyone, I haven't been around much, but this is still my all-time favorite raw food forum. *blows kisses to everyone* I'm still raw, just about three years now. However over the past six weeks, or so, something has been going wrong in my body. I'm pretty sure I have lyme disease (got a round rash on my neck, under my hair that was noticed around the same time that my joints started hur

I was listening to a live-stream video last night of David Wolfe. He said something that I had never heard before and I wondered if it's true, if there is any scientific proof of it. I can't remember exactly what he said, but it seemed to be: Cacao is good for the heart, it's the caffeine in cooked chocolate that gives a problem. For those who are sensitive to caffeine, they may have a proble

The Raw Guru is doing the same thing as the fundable company. That's strange to see the same kind of deal by two different people. It must be a common way to order things? Anyway, if anyone is a die-hard coconut fan and wants organic ones, this is the way to go! Lots of love to all of you, Wendi XOXOXO

I rarely get bitten (even before I was raw). When I do, I notice it itches for a minute, I see the tiny bump. and then it fades away--no more itching and it's gone. My husband, on the other hand, gets bitten and he feels it so intensely and can't stop scratching. His bites welt up (probably because of him scratching, but possibly because he's a bit allergic to the bites). He has a problem with f

When I was eating very high fruit and little to no fat, my skin was the nicest it has ever been. Then I ate high fat raw for a few days and my skin wasn't as smooth and it almost seemed to be thicker, or something, especially on my face. I think high fruits are definitely helpful for having beautiful skin. Well, it could be the decrease in fat, as well, that helps the skin. Maybe both of thos

Rawtastic, It has been studied and understood by scientists. Insulin resistance causes hormonal imbalances. It's not the *only* cause of hormonal imbalances, however. Here's a little excerpt I grabbed from a page on PCOS, when I did a quick search just now: "Insulin Resistance, which can cause PCOS in two distinct ways. First, Insulin Resistance reduces the insulin sensitivity of y

Thanks, Therese! I never heard that before about cayenne. I'm going to keep that in mind!! Thanks! It's incredible that you've had increased growth! I'd love to get a bit taller!! It hasn't happened for me. Congrats on gaining better mental clarity, too! It sounds like raw is doing wonderful things for your body! Lots of love to you, Wendi Dee XOXOXO

Therese, Thanks so much for your response. I'm so happy that the tea is working for you! My cycles have always been all over the place--heavy for some years, light for some, normal, with and without clots, etc. I never had pain unless an ovarian cycst burst. From what you are describing, you might have endometriosis? I've only ever had one growth in my uterus and it has remained small (it hasn

Thanks so much, Bryan. I have definitely learned from this--no more all fruit challenges when I'm so new to 8/1/1. Slow and steady has always been what works best for me, so I don't know why I tried something so radical. I appreciate your advice very much. Thanks, again! iLive, I'm definitely not in a place to answer your questions about how long before conditions get better. As you can see, I

Congratulations, Patty!!! My cholesterol levels got into the very healthy range on high fat raw, when my cooked food body had horrible cholesterol even though I was eating very well for a cooked foodie. Isn't it amazing what a difference heat can do to our foods?! Congatulations, again!!! You'll inspire many more people to try raw, I'm sure, as you share your results! Lots of love to you

Tananwana, my dear friend! You are very wise--I was moving too fast with going from fats, to low fats, to no fats, and then only high sugar fruits. Here's are my updates on what went on with me today: AFTER LUNCH: Well, maybe some of what I was going through was detox (at least the jittery feeling and feeling like I can't focus very well), because I'm feeling weepy, slightly depressed, an

Bryan, I was doing a three-day all sweet fruit challenge with some online 80/10/10ers. That’s when the jittery feeling came (the third day). . I wasn’t taking any supplements at that time, but I do occasionally take B12 and iron (not all the time, however). I don’t take anything else, other than organic fruits and veggies. I only use organics (except for an occasional nonorganic pineappl

Wheatgrass Yogi, No, I've been following 80/10/10 and have had many days with no overt fats and all the rest with 10% or less fat. I haven't had nuts in about two weeks, or more, and before that it was limited to evening meals and very small quantities. I was experimenting for three days with nothing but sweet fruits, so yes I wasn't having any greens. Before that, however, I was having at lea

I haven't made a decision, yet, but I'm thinking of ending my 80/10/10 experiment before I've fully completed it. I'd love to hear your opinions about some of my preliminary findings while sampling the diet. POSITIVES: * It's easier to eat this way--just grab and eat. * I seem to have a bit more energy, but I'm not 100% certain about this. * Foods don't seem to sit too long in my tummy-

Maybe look at this with an optimistic attitude? I see it as a chance for a massive shift where others are forced into taking responsibility for their own lives and health. It will be small scale, of course, in the beginning. But, like concentric circles after a drop of rain on a lake, others will begin to shift and change, as well. Over time, everyone will see the need for personal responsibility

cocoa_nibs, According to 80/10/10 it's actually fat in the bloodstream that causes the problem with high sugar, not the sugar itself. So, I think Bryan was saying to test that theory by sampling my blood when I've been eating fats and sweet fruits, versus when I have been low fat and eating sweet fruits. Thanks for the suggestion, Bryan. I'll let you know if I pick up one of those devices.

RawSun, No I didn't feel unhealthy on high raw fat. I was almost morbidly obese and high fat raw helped me regain my health. However, as time went by the nuts stopped feeling so good in my stomach--they just kind of sat there, taking forever to digest. I like to follow my instincts on how I eat, and also listen to my body. So, I decided to sample 80/10/10. I haven't been doing it very long, b

I completely agree with Coco and David. We have to put up with the odors of others' colognes and perfumes, meat meals, body odors, lingering secondhand smoke, and so much more. If the worst anyone around you can say is that they hate the smell of your vegetable meals, then smile and know that you are at least adding a bit of healthy odor to the air you're breathing! ;-) Lots of love to you,

So, if a raw vegan is eating lots of fruits and veggies, but also eating a lot of raw fat, there is nothing to be concerned with if the level of triglycerides is in a healthy range? Are there other things that could be going on in the body that won't show on the blood test results? If so, what are they and is there a way to test for ill health from a high raw fat intake? I'm asking because I'm

In the beginning of going raw, I only liked those three veggies with all kinds of sauces on them. Since I've been cutting back on fats, that eliminates a lot of the sauces I was eating. Of those three, cauliflower is the only one I like plain. It has to be really fresh, though, or else it tastes a bit bitter to me. I actually had a few weeks when I was drawn to eating cauliflower every day. I'

I don't know why I got such a big chuckle out of this. I guess it's because it's written as though rubbing food over the body is just something everyone does, and you're just wondering which food is best. :-P I think your question is a good one, however, for those who do put foods on the skin. I was just thinking earlier today that I need to find something natural to rub on my dog who has extr

I have a question about a high fat raw diet. Other than nuts being a bit difficult to digest (stay in the stomach too long) for many people, what are the harms of a high fat raw diet that also includes a lot of fruits and veggies? Would the harm show up in blood test results? If so, what kinds of things should be checked when getting bloodwork done? If not, how could one scientifically test for t

Hey David! :-) Thanks for the reply. After reading what you've written, coupled with some comments that Sarah left on my blog, I'm thinking it must be mostly water weight. I haven't increased my calories much, changed my activity level, or eaten/consumed poor nutrition, so it must be mostly water weight. I don't think I was at my healthiest weight before trying this. I was at 137 pounds, m

After much thought and reflection over what I've been eating, I am convinced that I have not been consuming many more calories over the past few weeks. However, my fruit sugar consumption has changed drastically. I have decided, just based on my instinct, that insulin resistance is what has caused the weight gain. I'm not blaming 80/10/10, however. I know that many people are quick to jump up and
