i live just north of red deer as you can tell by my nic...it is much harder in winter and over the years i just realize that we will eat some cooked...we usually try and keep it to oatmeal with berries and we make veggie soup...i also use cayenne on many of my salads. having some flexibility has helped. if you are new to raw you may find some weight loss and may feel that more in the winter.

the best way to reduce the pain/heat from sunburn is to lightly brush the skin with vinegar. somehow it opens the pores and lets the heat out. i learned this many years ago in mexico and although the thought of putting vinegar on your skin may not be appealing...it sure soothes the burn. cheers

hi phantom good luck with your challenge. i have tried to live my life according to my passions. it has worked pretty well for me although i do admit that sometimes a change can cause challenges in life. i've spent time in hockey working in the highest professional league, had a great career with a corporate firm, owned and run my own businesses and now i am a trader...fortunately i've had a l

i was thinking about the history of breakfasts in my life this morning. i was raised on cereal (yes the boxed kind) and porridge bleech and yuck, then when i was older (20's) i thought bacon, eggs toast and coffee was the answer, my wife used to make apple cinnamon pancakes and they were tasty but they made me want to go straight to sleep after eating them...i now wonder how i ever got anything d

i think one of the byproducts of our society is that we all want what we want NOW. i see many posters come here, try to go raw cold turkey struggle a bit and then presumably give up because they never post again. it's very unfortunate. many posters here talk about the raw journey and i think that's what it is. i expect my transition to take about a year and i'm happy with little victories as i

i had my first colonics treatment several years ago and was totally amazed that i had dropped 10 pounds when i weighed myself afterwards. i have since read that many people may have between 5-12 pounds of fecal matter in their colon. i'm 6'4" and 205 pounds so i don't know if that is as a result of my size. anyway, i have had a number of other treatments since then and the weight differen

hi prism i found your post about bulges in your intestines quite interesting. i always felt that my middle was bigger than it should be...i'm not fat 6'4" and about 205 lbs. anyway, i went for a colonics treatment and i lost a full 10 lbs during that one hour treatment and my middle flattened out considerably. i'm not suggesting that for you but you may want to research that. it scared me
