REALLY!?!?! You have them?!? I am so psyched. Just this am, I blended a smoothie and had to use the tamper for a second and really was so bummed because it is all chewed up. I was afraid it was going to break off in my drink! I will PM you. Thank you!! SO MUCH!!! veggie

How would I juice cherries? The pit is fine in the juicer? What about the blender? I only have a cheap-o Hamilton beach juicer, but do have a vita-mix. I guess I would wonder the samw about grapes with seeds - fine in both? Secondly, pineapple - typically juiced with or without the core? And lastly, I just read somewhere that lemon seeds make smoothies bitter? Anyone know?

Utopian life - how active are you? That seems like so much food, and right now that is a struggle for me. I hear people saying that they eat so simply, and so little, and I feel like I enjoy eating the foods that you have on your list all day! I am certainly not feeling like I am just eating a little. Can you describe your list a bit more - in terms of amounts and when? I am just interested

Ooooh, I am in on this thread - I am with you!!! Interested in things to make. Here is what I had this am 1 banana 1 mango greens - organic mixed greens pre-washed (about 2 handfulls) 1/4 lemon 1/2 cup (approx) cantaloupe 6-7 baby carrots 1 scoop chia seeds 1 c (approx) water I also used 1-2 ice cubes because even though I know it is best to drink at room temp, it was so warm without

I know Wy - I totally just blew it. I was getting so frustrated, and obviously NOT thinking at the moment, took the top off, shoved the tamper in and realized that the problem in itself was just not enough water in my concoction. I ended up sawing off the end of the tamper, probably dulling my blades, and realizing the hard way that I was making smoothies incorrectly.... Not only that, but my

JJ - since you eat the pulp anyway isn't that the same as just blending it initially? I don't get the difference?

Exactly RawAngel. No vitamix for sale here either, just got one myself. I think they do have refurbished ones you can buy. In fact, I need a new tamper - I accidentally chewed mine up by the vita-mix.

I am glad you started this thread. Hopefully, I am not stealing the thread with my off-beat question, but I do have a different question - about seaweed as well. My husband LOVES sushi and is no way in any shape or form converting to raw food. He is on the SAD diet and thinks I am crazy. So, that being said, we typically go out to eat once a week together with no kids. The more I transit

I got my Vita mix and while I am still trying to work out a few glitches, it is totally amazing. I LOVE IT!!! Way better smoothies than I could ever make in my food processor....that is how I was doing it in the interim before VM. They were really chunky and food particles never got totally crushed up. I have a cuisinart food processor that is virtually brand new as well, and the two can't comp

I am sure there must be other questions similar to this that have been answered a million times on this site, so I hate to be a bother....but I have no choice!! If there is a thread that you can direct me to, please do, otherwise, I would REALLY appreciate any additional info you can offer. Thank you!! 1. What are superfoods? 2. What is nutritional clay? 3. How are nuts added to smoot

Does anyone have a filter they can recommend? I think I will post a new thread about filters also. We definitely need to filter at least some of the crap out of our water.

Interesting - that is about what I paid for the vita-mix 5200. Huh. Maybe I should send it back and get the vita-prep. What do you think? Where can you get the Vita-prep? I only saw it online from individual sellers - working for Vita-prep. I would love to get one for $425-450.

Can you give me a synopsis of the book? Do you have it? I think I will go to borders and B&N today to see about ordering. I did try to order online and it wasn't even coming up as part of their inventory. Maybe it will be different at the store.

Where can I get this book? I have been searching Borders Books, along with Barnes and Nobles, but can't get it. I went to Dr Grahams website and the book is about $30. I have gift certificates to both stores and would get it essentially free at the bookstore as opposed to spending the $30 on it from Dr Graham. I JUST paid for my vita-mix so resources are pretty tapped out right now! Can anyo

HAHAHA! LaPieta - I was just cracking up over your PS. That has totally been me as well!! One minute I am buying a juicer, then the next a vita-mix, nope, back to the juicer, oh, wait, no a blender. One minute I want to stay in fla, the next am planning to move to hawaii asap. (my husband wants to move to Hawaii and I am flip flopping all over the place.) I am driving him crazy, I am totally

I have been trying to figure out whether or not to invest in the really nice juicer, or a vita mix. I was totally prepared to get the juicer, until reading this thread.....and going back to Victoria Boutnenko's book 12 steps to raw. She doesn't really juice her greens. She instead makes more green smoothies than anything else. I think I really need to get the 80-10-10 book, any other recommenda

THANK YOU!! Mama Cass - can I ask you what your cooked meal typically looks like? I am primarily staying mostly raw throughout the day, and having a cooked meal at night. The meal for me is vegan, usually containing a grain - I LOVE oatmeal! That is going to be hardest for me to give up altogether. Anyway, just wondering. Thanks again PS - beautiful picture

WY - when you say that the omega is harder to use - how so? It takes longer? I really want to get the most nutrients out of the things I am juicing, AND I want to be able to have a wide variety of available things to juice. I am sold on the twin gear juicers and do agree that they are going to suit my needs the best. However, I don't have personal experience with them, so don't want to buy o
