Oh shoot - my book isn't with me, but in the am he would recommend for ex 4 cups of orange juice At lunch - 2 lbs of bananas (some of which he just eats and sometimes he recommends blending them into "banana milk" dinner - three courses starting with a juice or fruit, then a blended soup, and then a "salad" with lettuce and then a blended fruit dressing. I will pos

Great idea Claire - weren't you also struggling with 3pm binges? I have, and it might be a signal that I just wasn't eating enough prior to that. We'll see. I would love to start a new thread, or find one already going somewhere. I could have sworn I have seen one somewhere - or maybe I am thinking about people who blog about 80-10-10. I still haven't gotten through the book, but am going to

I went back to that site, and phew, I couldn't really read much. It was so negative, everyone fighting and calling names. Is there a place where people doing 80-10-10 be of support to each other rather than bash each other or the creator? I am wondering if there is a plaec on this site or maybe on dougs actual site, or another site altogether. Bryan are you still following 80-10-10?

Did you get your book Perbetty? I just got mine! I am AMAZED at the amount of food to be eaten on a daily basis. Maybe this is why I have been struggling - I am NOT getting enough food....? I love how he has sample days with sample menus. This is a huge help for me, even though I know that people on this site have recommended using sites to plug in calories, etc. to make sure we are getting

the tomatoes were ripe and perfect to eat. so delicious! But, aren't they so acidic that they could make my mouth break out? Like the acidity of the oranges? I used to be so sensitive that I would eat a bunch of pineapple and end up with a HUGE cold sore on my lip the size of texas. I once had to go to the Emergency room because my lip blew up so enormously that it touched my nose. Why woul

So, I had been craving tomatoes like crazy. I didn't have any, and finally got some the other day. I sat down and ate three the first day, along with brewers yeast, some spike, and then I had a cucumber (duo eating for me ) The second day, still the same thing - craving tomatoes! I had four, and then had a zucchini. All prepared the same - a little spike, and brewers yeast. I woke up wit

I have heard that organic bananas often do not turn yellow (not sure if this is true or not) but that conventional ones always do because of a certain chemical on them. I do know fm experience that my organic bananas are most times ready to be eaten way before they are yellow. Once mine turn yellow, I have a couple of hours before they start to spot. Definitely interested to know if the che

So, what do people use? What about the stuff you can buy in the store - called Veggie Wash? I know that there is a homemade recipe - vinegar and water? I would love some ideas too.

I still feel like I need more support - like a raw guru living with me for two weeks to help me get on track. I have ED stuff that really gets in the way on my path to raw eating - I know it sounds lame, but the bottom line is that I definitely need more support while starting out. Has anyone else had the same kind of need - someone to talk to during the day about the experiences transtitioning

Totally ridiculous. Of course some people love Pollen - he justifies their way of eating and makes them feel better about something that most people innately know is not "the way." I see my family doing it all the time - justifying WHY they HAVE to eat meat. And, then when a professional backs it up, they think he/she is god. Interesting, but I agree with whoever said it - those are

What I don't understand is how people on this thread can be eating so little and not fading away to nothing! It is truly a whole new way of thinking to me, and like someone else said - almost seems like anorexia! It is so hard to fathom I think because I have dealt with anorexia and for so long was pushed to eat, eat, eat. Kids are waking up - definitely so interesting though.

I think he just meant that it was a good overview of the tools for people who are starting out. I swear once you start using more quality products you just "know" that you are getting quality product. Perspective just happens. I was clueless when I came on here and now through the threads, conversations, personal experience and personal reading off this site such as articles like tha

A couple of things - Where do people go for retreat other than Tree of Life - is there any place? I was wondering the same thing about eating disorder treatement facilities because most places that I have ever heard of require that you eat their food plan - consisting mostly of SAD foods. I was in treatment in my late teens and I can remember being forced to drink milk, eat saltines (no issue

The thread I was thinking of was "so confused" I think, although there were others right around that time frame that were going that were really helpful to decide what to buy. For me it was simple once I sifted through the jargon and realized what my own needs were/are. I am eventually going to get a REALlY good juicer, but not for a bit. I am still paying my vitamix off and so far h

I doubt it, they do such different things. Where is baltochef? He is the one that has all the knowledge about it - he helped me tremendously with my purchase of the vitamix. Not sure he even knows that. But there is a thread that he and La_Veronique do a lot of discussing about differences, advantages, disadvantes, prices, etc. That entire thread provides some great insight to the products a

I have been getting them at whole food (in florida) but am going to start getting them bulk through a friend who orders them. They seem to have incredible nutritional content, just wondering if anyone else agreed. Interesting story about the correlation between the seeds and the pet. The darn media!

Here are a few that I do on a regular basis: 6-7 pieces kale 1 apple 1/2 lime with peel 2-3 big handfuls arugula 4-5 leaves of mint scoop of chia seeds (does anyone else go crazy over chia seeds?) 1 banana 4-5 strawberries unhulled, just thrown in after washing 1/2 head of small cabbage - or a good amount of any other green Sometimes I soak the chia seeds before I add them so th

One other question I have though, is why she would suggest eating during the elimination time when many raw foodists say not to eat (morning time until noon). Is it because the elimination period is now not just the morning, but instead the time that the body is fasting? And, in actuality I usually stop eating around six or seven pm, and don't eat again until 11-12, except for a bit of tea or w

Way to go Wy, I am ordering the book myself. I am definitely interested and agree with that you are saying about "food for nutrition" and getting evergy elsewhere. So much emphasis IS placed on food, more than necessary I think. I still question the dry fast - even the notion that I can do it for more than 8-10 hours through the night! But, I am really interested in everything she h

I have the book and refer to it often as well. I always put in way more greens than it calls for - for instance the chia seed shake - whatever she calls it. I add more greens and I always cut back on the fruit. If it cals for 4 apples, I usally add 1.
