Claire! I am totally with you. I have been going through this for YEARS, even when I was completely SAD trying to "watch" what I was eating...thinking of that now is hilarious to me?!!? As I switched to vegetarianism, vegan, etc, it was the same. I called 3pm the witching hour for me. Even now, I still have it. But here is what I have found. I really try to hold of eating until

Well, I think I am just going to bite the darn bullet and get a greenstar. Wy - I am sure I asked you this before, somewhere but I know that I will also never find where....so I will ask it again here. (sorry) How come you don't just use your greenstar for the wheatgrass as well? You use the greenstar for your juices, but the Wheetena Green Label for the wheatgrass? vf

How do you eat your steel cut oats flex4life? In smoothies? I agree with tanwana - eventually we need less, I am not quite there yet, but I can feel that I AM on my way and portions and the times that I am eating are getting less and less. Veggie

How does it work for sundried foods - are they considered "cooked" - do they reach a temp in the sun high enough to be considered cooked? I am hooked on organic sun dried wild mulberries, along with sun dried tomatoes. I literally could eat an entire bag of mulberries in one sitting....please tell me they are raw!!!! haha, just kidding, I am not giving them up so fast either way. Veg

Wy recommended a Wheateena Green Label but at this point I can't afford it, I might as well just buy a greenstar. (wy don't you have a greenstar - how come you don't just use the one thing to do the wheatgrass as well?) AGH!!!!! Maybe I should just bite the bullet and upgrade to a greenstar. I just don't want to spend the money!! Then I have to get quality wheatgrass. Or wheatberries. O

Well, on the can "ahem, cough, choke...." it says there is no fat. However, I don't know if that is because of something done when it is stuffed into aluminum. Ugh. I am really interested to know more about eating them raw though. I would love to try them! Were they really hard?

I used to add it to my smoothies. I never really noticed anything different, couldn't taste it, but didn't "see" any remarkable results. I too am interested in responses to this question. Did you find any info online about it Simple Living? Veggie

I don't have it either, but have heard great things about it. Like you said, excellent to take places instead of packing the big huge vitamix. I may invest in one to take to the Keys in a couple of weeks, thanks for the reminder

Oh I bet they were heavenly. I really don't know about the whole process of canning - but now that I think about it you are totally right. Ew! although, they are still so darn good!

Okay, so I know that it is horrible that they come in a can. But, are they raw? And, is there any nutritional value even though they DO come in a can? I always loved them, and recently just had them again in a salad. I was just wondering if anyone can give me a perspective from the raw world - to eat or not to eat. Thanks. Veggie

Any single-auger does a nice job juicing Wheatgrass. I've had many over the years. The one I'm using now is a Wheateena Green Label. Start off buying wheat berries at any progressive Food Store. Good Luck.....WY Here is what WY said about Wheatgrass juicers. Simple Living - with the vita mix you will totally be in business. And you don't have to spend $600!! however, I am not sure

I would get a vita prep, and eventually when I have enough money a green star juicer. In the meantime, I have a 5200 vita mix and am going to get a wheat grass juicer on the counter. I think WY has one he can recommend. veggie

well, it does sound interesting - how your body is reacting to them. It sounds strange that as Arugula said that it doesn't have anything to do with detox. I was thinking along the same lines you were.

I know you have posted this before WY, but when you add oats, you soak them first? And the same with the pumpkin seeds? Can you give me an amount - like 1/2 c oats approx? Same with the seeds? 1/4 c? 1/8cup? Just trying to get a sense for the smoothie, I have only used veggies or fruit. veggie

Totally worth it simple living. I am in love with my vitamix and wouldn't trade it for anything. I think it was so worth the money. If I use it one time a day in a year, it has cost me around $1-1.50 a day. So far, I use it 2-3 times a day so I would say that it is completely worth it for me. The best part is the three part payment plan you can use with the vita-mix. For me, it didn't hurt

I did send you my address in an email - did you get it? About two weeks ago I guess. I will pm you. I have been layering like you do - and find I am having a hard time. I always need to put something in to catch a grip - like a lime or banana. I do put the water in, some chia seeds, and then a lime/banana, greens, and sometimes an apple or pear. I find that I have to REAlLY PUSH everythin

Also WY - on another thread somewhere you mentioned that you are falling in love with your wheatgrass juicer - which one was it again that you said you have? I want to get one - also where do you get your wheatgrass? I think also in your case you grow it, correct? Did you order organic seeds?

So cute La_V, cracking up here. I would love to have a greenstar -did you end up getting a vitamix? WY - any word on the tamper? I can send you $ first if you want. I am doing fine without it, but am feeling a bit obsessive about having my vitamix back to its original state! JLMK if you still have one. Thanks! Veggie

Is there any texture to the soup? Like corn kernals, avacado chunks, etc? I haven't made any yet, but am planning to do a gazpacho tomorrow - kind of soupy, right? I am looking forward to more recipes!

Enlightenmentnow wrote: "You are awesome.....don't be afraid to be as good as you are." Beautiful, and so, so true. This is such a powerful statement and Ahlem I hope that you will post this up in your house. Even on your gumball machines! I think that there are times - diagnosis/medication or not, that we can all use this affirmation as a reminder of just how powerful we are.

I am a huge Victoria Boutenko fan. I love her style, her simplicity, her zest for greens, her following of chimps and of course her smoothie recipes. For some reason, I really get into the personal "real life" stories that I hear on here or get from authors. Her style is exactly that, I feel like she is talking to me as I read her stuff. It isn't rocket science, by any means, but it

i wonder if I can get one at bed bath and beyond - or do I need to order the henkle knives? I am going to attept it again at lunch, but might run out earlier for a good knife. I have everything else I need, even a huge bamboo cutting board that I love. Just missing the tool to cut on it with.

I always have to add a bit of lime when I do. Although - I haven't actually blended, come to think of it. Before my vitamix, I would wake up and juice a salad and have to add lemon or lime. I am going to try to blend. Hmmmm. Did your salad have onions?
