I can only reiterate a few things already mentioned here. 1. Overload of information. It can get overwhelming and cause you to be extreme if you let it. I finally just said, "Enough. I know enough to get started and know my body well enough to listen to it." 2. It would be encouraging to have at least one other person around you that shares in the same lifestyle. 3. Pat

I just made my blended salad. I only have a regular blender right now. After getting the greens blended, it worked just fine. I remembered someone saying they filled the blender with water to just cover the blades. Then I added about half the blender filled with mixed greens, including spinach and blended it. Then I added tomato, cucumber, red and orange peppers, a drizzle of olive oil, ta

I don't understand the purpose of this thread, and the conversation in it at all. If you don't want to eat an all fruit diet, then don't. Nobody is making you. But why do you have to start a thread that isn't productive at all? One that only causes arguments? Do you think you're going to convince a fruitarian to change their ways because you come here with an attitude? Get over yourself. F

Pistachio, A couple of years ago, I bought the Thanksgiving Party Pack of those oddly flavored Jone's Sodas to work and eight of us were determined to try every flavor. They included atrocious flavors like salmon, etc., There were all VILE! LOL maui_butterfly, I've had the Harry Potter Jelly Beans. They really do taste like the things they were intended to taste like. I utterly refu

I signed-up for Nutrition Data, but it's a lot to work with. (Remember, I live simply!) I'm trying to fill my pantry but I'm getting hung up on some terminology. Can anyone explain what these mean? - Includes USDA Commodity Food. - NLEA Serving Also, I love tomatoes. I've always said that if I have tomatoes, lemon and garlic, I have groceries! Can you overdose on tomatoes, being a ra

Wow, crazy stuff. I've had cravings like these, but during my cooked food days (which ended yesterday). Can you suddenly crave a food you may have never had before or never liked before? I'm in for one wild ride, aren't I?

Thanks everyone. Something just snapped in me last night (In a good way, I assure you. Nothing that involves automatic weapons or voices in my head.) and I decided I wanted to make this new life as fun and interesting as possible. No fear. No neuroses. No average. It's time to shake things up a bit, don't you agree? I mean, if you can't get excited about improving your health for the rest

Quotei went raw (some would argue 90-something%, i still use occasional agave, nama shoyu, miso, and some spices that i am pretty sure are not raw...) and dropped 50 lbs in 3.5 months, Now that's the very definition of "You go, girl!" (Sorry, I've been living in the city too long... LOL)

Friends, we're gathered together today for this very SAD occasion. A longstanding member of the flock has passed from death unto life by converting to the RAWsome lifestyle of living foods. MauiGreg, I hope you know I was joking! I would never ask a question like that seriously. It's just that some of the recipes you've mentioned sound so good, I thought you must be a good cook! Hmmm... going to have to come up with new terminology, "Cook" doesn't work anymore. I guess we all just got upgraded to Chefs! I was just hoping to eat at Chez Greg's sometime.

Okay. I've decided to go ahead with the blog. Face the fear. I am who I am right now because of the decisions I've made in the past. Who I am a year from now will be the result of the decisions I make today. It freaks me out to do this, but, it won't physically kill me, so what could happen? Part of me will shrink, but the best part of me will grow. Thank you all for your inspiration.

Brenna, You and I are in the same garden. I'm new and I'm beginning to tell some friends and coworkers about my new life as a raw foodist to gauge people's reactions. So far, it's been great. I took the time to explain it to one friend and then she was fine with it. I've read UtopianLife's blog, too, and agree with you. Cooked food isn't half as pretty as hers! Question for you, Utopi
