Hi guys I recently needed to cut down on food spending and found my current fairly-high fat raw diet isn't do-able. To do 80-100% raw, I found I needed sweet or processed treats like raw cakes/truffles/breads/'cheesy' sauces to keep me interested- but now spending the best part of £10 on ingredients just isn't cost effective, lol! It's still quite cold here at the moment, so have found

Not a forum, but using Instagram could be useful, there's lots of inspiring raw foodists sharing their pictures on there.

I saw a post on Instagram (I think) that said we should eat our avocado pits. It involved soaking, dehydrating and then crushing into a powder. Does anyone do this? Also does anyone know the nutritional content of the seed at that point (after dehydrating etc)?

(Hiya John, a bit off topic... I'm mostly a lurker and find your posts interesting but can I suggest not using red text/bold text/capitals (unless sparingly), as I find some of your posts hard on my eyes and difficult to read because of it.)

There's been a few threads lately which have deviated away from raw foods and concentrated on just knocking people down. Kristina gets a lot of flack, amongst others.

I recall reading how he would buy big blocks of compacted dates (like what you get in Asian stores) to chew on during long races for energy. When you run very long distances, your mouth and throat become very dry (even when staying hydrated)- I'm sure gnawing on a block of extremely dry dates in these conditions didn't help his teeth much. Especially when running marathon distances and beyond whe

I don't get the Kristina hate? A young girl, eating/promoting raw and healthy living, doing well for herself- why is this any cause for criticism? Am I missing something?

I'd assume that the different green powders would all end up having similar ingredients? I'm sure he could just find a single powder with everything he needs in. Those green powders aren't cheap.

Chew your food, stay hydrated and eat till you feel satiated. Keep logging your food. If you're finding yourself hungry... EAT. How active are you? If you have a sedentary lifestyle, change it, and you won't ever need to be counting calories.

Hi guys When websites like nutrition data and fitday.com list their nutrition, is this done by weight minus inedible parts of the food? i.e. I have a 200g box of dates that have stones/stem attached. When working out their nutritional content, should I remove these and then weigh again? i.e. this could be 190g or less of actual date in some cases. Plus these sorts of sites have opti

My gut instinct is that it's okay- I like eating it in small amounts when very fresh. I wouldn't eat a whole bag of it though, my tastebuds definitely say 'that's enough' after a certain amount. Beetroot on the other hand does not agree with me, which I would call it harmful, from my personal experience.

Hiya suez, Even though it's billed as 100% raw? It's still devoid of the good stuff? That's a shame. I'll just use it to pad out raw cookies or something, It says this on the website (http://www.tiana-coconut.com/products/coconut-superfoods/gluten-free-coconut-flour/) Extra fine, Premium quality 100% raw and suitable for raw diets 100% pure, free from sulphates Highly nutritious, con

Hiya, bought a bag of this today. Does anyone ... know how long it lasts once it's open? ... if there is a strong coconut flavour (or any flavour)? ... if it's sweet at all? I have some ideas on how to use it (would like to use it as 'bulk' in a raw cake instead of coconut oil) but worried once I open the bag it might have a short shelf life as it's raw. Thanks

la-v - maybe you could just smoosh up some custard apples- if you can get hold of them? They taste like a vanilla dessert with no prep involved (except maybe for taking the seeds out)

That curry I mentioned was in a Hare krishna restaurant But no, I have no probs with onion and garlic myself. What did the soup taste like? You had me until I read the chlorella bit, and it was then I was uncontrollably sick... JK Don't mind chlorella, just have to have stuff like that by itself or I find it ruins the food. Suvine - hing/asofoetida are the same, right?

So choose the squidgy ones? When I used to buy the caramel ones I'd avoid the soft ones as they were often mouldy. They'd go from ripe to mouldy soooo fast!

Aren't bitter melons super high in zinc or something? Ah, not crazy high, but pretty good: 1 cup cooked (from Fitday) Zinc 12% RDA Vit C 54% RDA B6 18% RDA I never found them that bitter, quite tasteless. Maybe my tastebuds are shot Wasn't totally sure what I should be doing with them either. Maybe they'd cheer up a salad, add some texture.

Hi guys, I bought some goji berry seeds the other day. On the instructions it says to grow them in early spring, and then plant out mid spring the following year to toughen them up. I'm a few months late to the party- do you think sowing them now will will cause any problems? I'll be keeping them indoors indefinitely. Apparently, they're easier to grow than nettles Never eaten a proper
