Mike, Can't remember if we discussed facial exercises and facercise or not but, when it's time to upgrade then the best facial exercises available are from I compared the exercises from facebuilder vs. flex effect to running a race vs. a marathon. Facebuilder, or Facercise will get you started down the path to toning your facial muscles but, just like we work out to keep our bodies in

Actually, I like my grains. I sprout, yes really sprout, wild rice, oat berries, wheat berries, barley, etc. I maje juice from the sprouted wheat and barley. I sprout oat berries and make yummy raw breads as well as some of the tastiest breads from sprouted oats. There are many healthy, beneficial nutrients in grain that we can all benefit from. However, to cook them destroys most of the nutrient

Yogamama, I hear you but and I have empathy but I can't sympathesize. I did go straight to vegan over twenty years ago. I read one book, Animal Rights by Peter Singer that forever changed my life. I understand that some folks need to ask questions but perhaps this is not the right website for you. I know there are a few transitional websites that may be more forgiving but some folks here get q

Yes, but the pods are very difficult to get in this country. I refuse to buy anything from rawfood.com so unless i can find them at natural zing or one of the other raw websites then I won't buy them. Peace,

Yes, but he's a bit too new agey for me. Being Jewish, I tend to reject things that challenge my own spiritual beliefs. I don't know if he even attracts many Israelites because of his own personal, religious beliefs. He's probably reaching out more to the Christian community. However, from what I've seen there's really not a big raw community in Israel so I don't know what else to tell you.

It's fermented soy. I think soy beans are down and then fermented. Nama Shoyu means "living" because the soy broth ferments for longer than two years and creates healthy bacteria through this process.

Rosemary, Why exactly are you going to Israel? Is it for family or friends? There's not much of a raw community in Israel, atleast the last time I visited so I don't know what to tell you. You can always get fresh veggies, dates, etc. so you will manage. Of course, if you don't speak Hebrew it may be difficult for you but there a always a few english speaking folks here and there. Good luck

I don't use steel cut oats because they've been processed. Instead, I use oat berries which I soak for about a day. They are a great breakfast cereal and are totally yummy with fresh hemp seed milk, or almond milk. Mix in some soaked almonds, raisins, pecans and you've got a totally delish way to start a day.

I too use maca powder, hemp seed, e3live, raw agave and that's about it for me. I sometimes have acai which is unpasteurized and I can buy at a local coop. This gets added into smoothies. Peace,

That's a no-brainer. Go with living light. I have two friends that have gone to living light and can't stop raving about their experience there. She's got a complete facility to teach you all you need to know and has been doing it for years. Peace,

Amanda, Depends on the source. There's a store out in Seattle that sells a large variety of dates but you have to buy them when their in season, which is coming up in a month or so. I just tried to get to their website but it doesn't appear to be working so I'm going to give them a call. I know they're a small farm and they are called The Date People. However, don't to a search because all you

Dave, Matt Monarch is truly not a good example. While he is an excellent role model he was blessed with good genetics. Based on his book, Raw Spirit, he doesn't even exercise or feel a need to so he's really not a good example. To everyone else, I find nothing wrong with supplements like Maca Powder, Hemp Powder or any of the others that many of us have in our diets. However, any supplemen

Actually, I do know Victoria and her book 12 Steps to Raw has been an amazing light in my life. However, that still doesn't make her an expert. Also, I don't listen to health advice from any non-vegans of which she is. This doesn't mean I don't respect her but she was eating unhealthy for longer than I've been eating healthy so why would I take her advice on health? That would be like my taking y

Hula, Tofu has never been raw. A few raw foodists started experimenting a few years back and figured out how to make a raw version of it. Also, innervegetable, not sure where you got your info but all raw beans are not toxic. There are only two known beans that are toxic raw and the first one that comes to mind is kidney beans. They are highly toxic as a raw food. Peace,

hula, That's almost correct. They still have not pulled the book and every few years come out with a new volume of the same thing. The only reason they are able to still sell the book was because they put A.T. Hovanessian's name in the front as a reference. However, they never did say "We Stole His Book Word for Word and relabled it as our own". Why? Well, to do so would cause them t

LOL. That's funny that vitamix sells you a wet and a dry blade. Just another way for them to make money I guess. My ktec has one blade for everything. Anyway, to answer your question I would say yes, if you can afford it. The twelve cup is a nice size and is good to have for processing food items. There are some things you can't do in a blender that you can in a food processor and vice versa.

Well, since you are both Natural H'ers then I suspect you are of the same mindset. I have seen him get angry when people ask him simple questions. I have seen it at conferences and on message boards. I don't take anything that he says at the gospel. Just because he says it doesn't make it so. If you want to believe that then it's your perogative. As for the information he sells, well, it is s

Do not try any of his stuff. He's a plagiarist and a liar. He, and his partners stole Raw Eating written by A.T. Hovanessian and turned it in to Nature's First Law. Now, Stephen Arlin aka Thor is reaping the rewards of his lies. He's over 300 lbs and a walking testament of what not to do.

Water is the ultimate cure. So many raw foodists think that they get all the water they need from veggies and fruit however this is a fantasy. Our bodies are made up of 60% water and we need to replenish it everyday. Ever since I started following the watercure discovered by Dr. Batmanghelidz I've never had any problems with my physique. In fact, a person on this board that I mentioned the wa

Well, Madhava swears that their agave is raw. They keep close tabs on the process and verify the temperature at all times of production. The syrup doesn't have to be boiled down at a high temp. Have you actually seen the juice of the agave cactus when it first comes out? It's quite thick. The moral of my statement is don't believe everything you read on the internet. I can find websites that s

Well, I don't consider Victoria Boutenko to be an expert at all. She just happened to write a few books about how her family went raw and that's it. She's not an expert nor nutritionist. I do, however, respect her as a person but wouldn't ever take her nutritional advice especially since she's not a vegan and hasn't been abstaining from animal products for longer than me. When she spends the time

Galileo, Yes, I agree. This is the same for virtually all power blenders. They are able to blend hard and soft veggies and fruit. There's no need to use a plunger with the ktec, as we both know, because of how the blender works. However, you don't want to put small chunks of anything between the blades. Peace,
