Even if you do the no overt fat approach, which I believe in, it seems then you would have to continue a low fat approach and maintain an agreeable diet for the best success for candida not to return. Seems many have found relief this way. Dr. Grahams latest book, has what I thought, is a really good explanation and info on the subject.

It also depends on who you talk to about "how much" you actually need. The answers are really varied to a large degree. Do the research and form your own opinion in the end. Remember though, when living a raw life you are in a different grouping far as needs, etc. than the charts and tables that are out there. But then again, through your research, you may come to disagree. Hence, it's

Telling the doctor about being raw will usually get a confused or at times a concerned if not anti-raw response. But, on the other hand it shouldn't be ignored if necessary. I wouldn't depend on your doctors opinion in this area unless he is informed, which I never met one who was. In my experiences, doctors and raw foods don't mix anyhow. :O)

It's takes time to learn how to "eat enough", yet not eat "too much" :O)

I went my first 5 years raw without "any" electrical gadgets. No problems for me, but that's me. I did eventually buy some though and like them occasionally for fun. If anything, I would say a good blender such as a vita-mix would be my first choice for anything. Even looking back I think I would have appreciated it in the beginning if I did have it.

He simply recommends eating to meet your calorie needs. The menus are designed for 2000ish calorie days, if that is what your weight and activity level require. Simply adjust from there. They are just guidelines for the beginner mainly. There is alot of variety and even food combining. Again, this is to get one started and eventually one will adapt to more mono meals and simple eating hopefully.

Anotherwards - Eating some watermelon, cantaloupe and honeydew could be called Mono-eating melons, butttt, only eating one melon as a mono-meal would be another version, annnnnd finally if you ate only one type of melon from one batch, grouping or picking would be yet another way to look at it. Guess you need to pick how you define it. There is no real right or wrong to me either. :O)

Chances are they were picked to early(very common) and stored improperly before you got them. Another outcome of this is a mushiness to them at times. At least Nanners are cheap and not a big loss ;O)

perbetty, you really should try for the book if at all possible, it is a must have in any raw food book collection I feel. There are other raw paths to follow, but the book answers any possible questions in following 80/10/10, including menu aides, etc.

There is one type of banana that has a green cast to it, even after ripening that is fine to eat. You'll know they are good if you ever try one. But usually, if they are spotted and green I believe they have been stored improperly.

Hmmm, interesting question. Food: There is nothing I NEED or ALWAYS have on hand, except for food itself. Nothing lasts for more that a week at most if still ripening anyhow. Other than that: Knife, fork, spoon, cutting board and a bowl. Occasional blender and even less still, a food processor

Fats if mixed with fruit, in general, fairs better with fruits like oranges or more acid like fruits. Try that if anything first maybe?? If you are not bothered, then . . . don't bother worryin'. Chances are through time you will start to sense things differently and change . . . or then again, maybe not :O)

Some having trouble with oranges may want try organic if they haven't. They tend to be gentler or easier to handle. I can eat 2-3 times as many organic over conventional myself usually. Conventional oranges, and even kiwi, tend to be this way in general. . . but not always :O)

I generally have that 16 hour gap myself and break it with just water usually. Then onto solid food maybe an hour later.

Ok Mira, I need a spell check I see :O) I don't think Harvey is a raw foodist either, take everyone's opinion with a grain of salt anyhow. Only you can decide. Besides, think of how many books and opinions there are out there. Even among the Raw Food Gurus. They can't be all right or wrong. Take a piece of everyone maybe?? One person will tell you too many fruits are bad, the next will tell yo

Ofcourse you can. Try it and see how it works for ya. There is no set rules, just some general guidelines people follow. You have to choose the way that fits where you are at in your so-called journey. Keep it simple and don't over complicate it :O)

Most prefer or have better luck this way, but it is up to the person when it comes down to it. Whatever helps you progress. If you are just starting your chances of continuing are better this way I think :O)

-How much do you spend on groceries each week? For the current Winter I average about 13-19 dollars a day. I shop every 2-3 days. -What are items you'll spend more on, not compromising? Nothing really. If it's a good quality at a decent price I buy. If not, I choose something else. -What are items you don't mind buying the cheaper version of? Anything, if the quality and ripeness is go

Maybe just try going more basic?? I find the best smoothies are 1 or 2 ingredients at most. Everyone seems to want to add way too much in my opinion. Take your base green you want to use and then add a fruit that is not as sweet, or sweeter if that is what you desire. Some of the best smoothies are found through experimenting. I'm sure everyone has made a few duds in their trials also. My favo

Can't guess about the reasons for your reactions, but nuts and fruit isn't a good mix. Most tend to give up or go easy on the nuts anyhow the more they progress too.

I thought about it and decided to reply more fully. :O) Oh well, here's my answers for what they are worth 1. How much food to you typically consume in a day? If a few people could provide me with a few sample 'menus' of what they eat that would be absolutely wonderful! Also, how much do you typically spend on groceries per MONTH? 7 bananas 2 Honeydew 6 oranges 6 tomato/.5 avocado

The Hardest Adjustment Going Raw?? All the fruit going away in the winter as well as Farmers Markets closing for about 4 months at a time. Years and practice get one through it though. At least where I live it's pretty scarce.
