Maybe you should ask - What are you looking to gain from "some" cooked food. What does it hold that will help ensure better long term health for you or anyone?? Also consider Vicktoras has had a very, very colored past and experimented to a large degree and was a guinea pig for many of us :O)

Eating is only a piece of the puzzle. Your history is another. If we kne

Hmmmm, Apple Cider, apples and even raisins would cause me problems in the Mucous department. May want to reconsider those choices. Stay with the apples only if you must. Staying away from citrus I think is generally easier on your system also.

Everyones IBS or digestive troubles are highly individual. Some of the advice in the books mentioned should be taken with extreme consideration unless you truly know what you are dealing with. For example, IBS and colitis are not the same and should not be treated as such when trying raw foods. This is where David needs to update his book I feel.

Eat enough concentrating on fruit rather than nuts or fats for overall calories. Exercise concentrating on strength or resistence workouts over cardio Be patient and let your body do the work, anything else is usually anti-productive, expecially for long term,

I was talking for "fruit" storage mainly, to cut down on fridge space to help. I shop every 2-3 days also and am very fruit predominant and don't let anything sit around unless it is ripening. If I would buy veggies or something that needed the fridge, I'd utilize the fridge as needed though.

I don't use the fridge anymore myself. This may be an option to consider also. Store food in a basement or a garage if its cooler or just anywhere. Considering I buy food every 2-3 days this works well with no fridge. Maybe an idea for future troubles??

You may want to consider just getting Dr. Grahams 80-10-10 book which will answer more than enough questions and get you started. You can piece things together on your own, but it sounds like you are at square one and skeptical on top of that. I'd suggest reading a book like this(or similar well documented book) to put your mind at rest more and give you some solid reasoning behind many concep

I feel it is a good idea for digestion. Beginners I think should be more concerned with adapting eating raw foods rather than stressing about combining though. BUT, it is something I feel the longer or further one progresses it becomes a natural thing to want to do as well as desiring to do. Just as mono-fruit eating becomes common place through time and hence combining becomes a non-issue. It's

Bryan10, did you ever get back to your normal 140 weight?? Sounds like a tough experience for ya. I know I've made past mistakes that I pay for till this day myself. You do learn alot though at any rate, trial by error.

You need the energy or carbs from fruit or you will eventually lose steam over time. It just won't work. You may feel great temporarily, but it will catch up to you. High greens and no fat wouldn't be the greatest either. To get enough daily calories from greens is very difficult and you don't want to rely on fat for your calorie source. So then, a raw food diet is either fruit, veggies or fat

There can be a craving for certain foods or textures for years actually, to a degree. It depends more on why or what you are craving to stop them. Yours sound very typical for someone who is undereating fruit throughout the day. But then again, if it comes and goes it may be a texture from a certain food is missed and it registers when you see or smell that food. It all takes time :O)

If anything has been ground, it is not considered "whole" anymore. It has been processed to a degree. Alot of spins or opinions though where you can debate for days on it being good or bad or optimum, etc.

Dr. Graham had this too say about too much Potassium: "No, unless you suffer from some for of kidney problem, in which case the problem is your kidneys and not the potassium, it is not likely that anyone will suffer from overdose of potassium. The human body is extremely efficient at eliminating excess potassium through the urine. No special dietary considerations need be taken.

Can you cook anything at all? Can you steam stuff? Well, if you did that it wouldn't be raw then :O) But if you wish to do it, by all means go with what works for you. What do you eat on an average day? Basically, go with all you care for of fresh ripe fruits and veggies. A typical day can be(BUT CAN VARY FOR EVERYONE) 2 melons for breakfast 10 bananas for lunch 6 oranges and a head of

You can thrive on the available fruits anywhere you are. Food is only part of the picture. But the tropics do make it easier in certain ways.

Wow, if that guy is so against bananas, I'd sure hate to hear what he thinks about a hamburger or a slice of pizza. There a good, widely found, affordable fruit. Winters here are easier with them actually, considering what we are left with . . . practically nothing.

Simply don't eat them. Give it time and see if the desire comes back. No need to force it. You can go an extended period of time without them and you will know if the need for them arises.

As you progress things change, things may eventually be the opposite you feel now in 2 years as a greens ratio to fruit. Seasons will effect these desires also as well as quality of fruit, etc., etc. All part of the interesting journey :O)

If anything boosts you to a large degree after eating I wouldn't care for it. Sounds more like a stimulant and I tend to avoid those, even if they contain nutritional benefits. As far as goji berries, I suggest eat them if you enjoy their taste

I have it and will keep it. I found it a little to general to really be of any help to a beginner. More of a motivational book. Kinda just reiterates everything you can read off the web. For transitioning, I would suggest Alissa Cohens book. OR try Dr. Grahams 80/10/10 book for a very successful approach followed by many. Alissa's book is full of valuable information and is a keeper as good

I was personally told by Dr. Graham that being 6'1" I could drop down safely to 126lbs and be alright. Also, don't get caught up on the weight as much as how you feel overall along with your strength levels. It all eventually evens out if you eat right and live to support health.

At one point in my life, after 5 years of being raw I switched back to some cooked food mainly being grains, eggs, etc. along with raw foods and it practically killed me. I mean literally messed me up bad. What was the real culprit I canonly speculate but do be careful whatever you do.

If staying a few days, make a store run and keep a bunch of bananas, fruits, stored in your room. I never keep food in my fridge at home as it is but very rarely. If you are 80% raw I'm sure there are other foods they eat that you would share in??

I actual mean to do the lifting on opposite days of conditioning. The same day is too much. A good conditioning session will elevate your heart rate far more than a cardio session too. I like them due to the shortness of them and I don't want to lose any strength or muscle I gain from my lifting days. Lifting for a good hour is very long I think. That could be a reason for the tendom trouble m

If you are having joint related troubles, ever consider body weight exercises?? "Might" be of help in those areas. They can be extremely challenging if needed. Resistance is resistance. Usually alternating body parts are more for experienced lifters. I suggest starting out to stick to full body routines and develop a body working as one unit and build off that first. You want to deve
