It depends on your height, goals and how long you have been raw. Less calories usually means less weight, but raw is different. You can still eat more, but can't compare calories to a SAD diet. Usually raw has eliminated grains, bad fats for instance. Anotherwards, get enough calories and be happy. It's better to eat and don't worry about it. Get the nutrition you need. The weight WILL come of

That's tough, everyone seems to react differently to things. I stuck to mono meals. Which is what I did while 100% raw so that was easy. I actually laid off on greens at first and slowly added them in smoothies with just banana and water adjusting from there. Banana and water only smoothies have always been a staple for me since forever. Even a cheap wal mart juicer was a big help. Ofcourse juici

Be careful with Davids Book though - He is more geared toward IBD symptoms. You will have to tweak it for IBS type symptoms. They are different. Unless you have or have had either, this can be hard to believe or accept for most. He gives you guidelines to start with. If you need any help or questions I'd be glad to help - you can always e-mail me

I have dealt with this to a large degree myself. David Kleins book is very good for information actually. I actually consulted with him, but it was a waste of time I thought even though the book is very good. Basically, You have to learn to heal yourself. Depending on your condition 100% can be counter productive at first. In addition, be careful with fats. They can be a problem. Don't simply

Being allergic to raw foods is unlikely. Some food intolerances can be there. Even though it may likely be detox, no one really knows you or exactly what's going on, what you are doing and your history. Do not simply, blindly or carelessly attribute it to "detox". Be careful and monitor yourself. Go slower if you feel the need. Still, give things time and read as much as you can, to

If anything at minimum, find a calorie counter and make sure you at least get "enough" calories for your daily activities and weight. To balance things, you may want to think of a carb/protein/fat ratio such as 80/10/10 or I've seen some runners prefer a 70/15/15. It varies and everyone has their own distinct opinions. So to me - Balanced would be a consistent carb/protein/fat ratio

I've done both ends of the spectrum for "years" at a time each. Low fat vegan or 100% raw is only one part of the equation. The key is educated food choices as well as rest, exercise and overall healthy living. Both have their goods and bad. 100% is the way to go theoretically, BUT, many times it can have negative effects. Where I live, for example, 100% raw can be counterproductive

Just bought one about a month ago. Seemed to be alright on my end. I also notice when blending what's inside rarely touches the lid. Only if I stop the blending and then turn it back on. Other than that, I would just give it a good before first use wash?

I agree - build the health as much as you can. Lay off the offending fruits or veggies for a time and re-enter them in later. Add the fruits and veggies you can tolerate and Go slow. Start, if not already, excercising and getting some sun and proper rest and lower any possible stress.

To me, the fat I wouldn't exceed. Maybe get it down to 20%?? The problem I see is you aren't eating enough calories. I'm thin and weigh in about 155 myself at 6'. I need, with my activities, at minimum about 2000 a day, prefer 2600. Recheck your calories with a good calorie requirement calculator I'd suggest. I think no matter your ratio, you will not gain what you desire. You may feel full

A neti pot, or as I mentioned earlier "nasal irrigation", will help anyone. Keep up on it 2-4x daily. Give it about a week to see some changes. Be diligent. Also, others have mentioned - Lower the fat, Increase the fruit. STOP the oils and such. Keep it to avocado or a few nuts at most. Increasing fruit will help with the hunger. 9 out of 10 times you are needing carbs to fill hunger

I went through a bout of terrible, terrible sinus/mucus issues. Keeping low fat, raw or even at least vegan light foods, NO grains or similar and nasal irrigation 2-4x a day along with patience and it finally cleared itself to where I could function more regular from day to day.

Hmmm, chances are you can't change someone's mind once they have a belief. Especially, if they interpret the Bible based on what someone tells them it says. We all read and interpret it somewhat differently I feel. Two different people with the same passage will read into it 2 different ways. Whats ya gonna do?? I just try to get along and figure why bring someone else stress and so find a sol

I've heard fats and fruit together is really troublesome. Fats in general should be really low to help I've been told. Raw Veggies are pretty rough to digest if you are having digestive troubles. Juicing definately would get them in your system easier. That or steaming I'd consider. Steaming, if you are against, I would view as temporary, at least till you can heal somewhat. Try carrots, kale

She seems more concerned with it being actually being raw over being a wise food choice. Just because it is raw, doesn't mean it is automatically good for you. Just a thought to consider also. I may have misunderstood though.

Calories and exercise is key which I'm sure you've heard before. A SAD diet has trouble getting calories down, a raw foodist has trouble getting the calories. You need to eat and be active without question. Stay away from too many avocados and other fatty foods. These don't put weight on. In fact, too much can have the opposite effect. Lower the fat intake and bump up the carbs and maintain

Read, read, read all you can. Not only on what and how to eat raw, but read about general nutrition to understand what protein, carbs, etc. do for your body. The more knowledge you have the better you can adapt and learn. More importantly, the more you can "sustain" yourself for years to come. Get enough calories and rest is key also. Be careful of a lot of contradiction out there

I could post a typical day input for weak or digestive troubles. It can be used and tweaked to fit any day actually. Easy to get enough Calories and such and pretty good too this way MEAL 1: juice one type of fruit (apple, pear, grapes, etc.) with 6 stalks of celery to yield about 32 ounces. MEAL 2: juice from 2 cucumbers blended with 6 bananas. MEAL 3: Either 6 bananas OR 5 mango O
