The point of juicing is actually threefold. 3) reduce energy involved in digestion, again by removing fiber the trick is to get all the juice out of the fiber. --------------------------------------------------- see John from discountjuicers.com uses the Welles Press to extract more juice out of carrot and apple pulp that was made with the Samson 9006 Juicer. I have one from 1998. It was much cheaper then. Yes it takes more time to clean than a champion, but makes more juice. Stainless and slow speed are nice too. They used to advertise it would do pine needles, I'm not sure what they are supposed to be good for.

The point of juicing is twofold. 1) to get the nutritional benifit from more food than you could possiblly eat. (by removing the fiber) 2) to absorb those nutrients more effectively (by removing the fiber) Some people do juice diets of 90 days with no harm, however no one recommends a purely juice diet long term. A raw food diet provides more fiber than SAD. Long term juice is simp

it seems your mindset is the main problem: "I love to eat and need foods I can snack on through the day" 1) There should be a break between meals. This is known medical knowledge. 2) it also seems, from what you say, that you need another focus than using food to take your mind off the pains of life. I would not presume to know what else you used to do that you really loved bef

it isn't "run through" a second time -- it is a press -- so no air is introduced according to John's site: Percent extra juice extracted from pulp of major juicers: Juiceman 33%-55% * Omega/Acme 15%-30% * Champion 40%-55% perhaps you are right that it isn't worth it for most ... but I have one and enjoy it

To get more juice out of the pulp, with for example a champion, or even a little more from a twin auger, a Wells Press may be used, (sometimes called the Peoples Press. It is basically a hydraulic jack, in a heavy metal frame, with a tray with spout. It is very heavy and not cheap, but the pulp comes out really dry

"So if you are feeling fine and you don't have symptoms and you have plenty of appetite, then this is not the time to fast." This seems a little simplistic. Probably many folks that feel they have no symptoms, would be better off with a better diet. Same might be true for a short fast. How one feels is by definition subjective. Whatever one is used to feels normal. That's why folks

Garlic and onions make me thirsty for hours. Their taste lingers. It would seem they were added to the diet in the same way other strong spices were, namely to stimulate the appetite, which is actually accomplished by their irritating effect. Why stimulate the diet? Because cooked food becomes homogenized, thus boring; in comparison to raw food, where for example in a bunch of grapes there are s

Justin as you say your own body is the boss. Good bowel function for me is an easy quick evacuation after every meal on average, but not always; with the toilet paper remaining clean. Anything that doesn't interfere with that, or cause discomfort is alright from a "food combining viewpoint". Everyone probably has different levels of hydrochloric acid production. My partner l

There are internet sites to measure nutrition and installable computer software works on apple computers it's good for learning things sometimes, but daily use feels compulsive, and ultimately boring. I learned there is more nutrition in broccolli stems (which can be peeled and eaten raw) then in the florettes.

Pump-n-seal is probably more economical, unless you already have or want a foodsaver, in which case they have adapters for bottles and canister. I have the stoppers and got some glass 8oz. water bottles to use with them, for when I go to the gym, etc. At home I use a canister, which i put the fresh juice in, and vacuum seal and then put in the freezer for the first 20-30 minutes, before mo

QUOTE Posted by: debbietook (IP Logged) Date: January 18, 2009 02:11AM ....I made it clear in my post that I was talking about 'added fibre' rather than naturally occurring fibre. ....Secondly, I talked later of the 'pulp' (from juice), which is a different thing from 'fibre' alone. Now, for example, pulp from the juiced flesh of an orange will contain the pith, which contains calcium, and in

More or less ---do you follow a sequential eating, a sort of "mono" eating of one fruit/food at a time...? with a time intervals in between the different foods...? Some of my meals are mono meals.
