oh yes, don't get me started on the greatness of the Reed. I am going to start another topic about them soon. I have heard that the Pinkerton has the best flavor, but I haven't had one yet, damn! Fallbrook is like... northeast sd county. If you don't know where it is, I can assure you it is quite far away. I live in Del Mar and it was 100 miles round trip. The actual farm is super tricky to

all this organic fruit!! I went out to Cunningham organic farm in Fallbrook and got hooked up like never before. Those are cherimoyas and the best avocados in existence, the Reed. Consider that Cherimoyas cost $6 a pound at Jimbo's, and the biggest one weighs a touch under 4 pounds! I'm just so stoked on this and I didn't know who to share it with. Behold

Hi you guys are right. They were kinda stiff. I looked it up, fig tree sap and figs themselves to a lesser extent contain a proteolytic (meaning it breaks down protein structures) enzyme called "ficin". It is similar to papain in unripe papaya and bromelain in pineapple. I got some super ripe mystery green ones and some black missions and the irritation was like 1/100th what it was

I just got a pound and a half of brown turkey figs at the Santa Monica Farmer's Market! This is the first time I have ever eaten figs in a large amount, and my mouth is incredibly sore... what's the deal? Serious pain, I feel like I rubbed sandpaper all over my tongue. But they are super delicious! Has anyone ever had a panache fig? They are striped!

I eat at least 6 a day, and up to 15 a day of the big, burly cavendishes. I am also about to plant 5 or 6 different kinds: Gran Nain, Goldfinger, Misi Luki, Praying Hands, Orinoco and mayyyyyybe Blue Java. We'll see. But yes I love bananas very very much. Straight yellow, not much green, not much brown speckling=perfection.

I have found that profoundly funny, thank you. "Thor Bazler"... It sounds like the most arbitrary name imaginable.

His board? Ehh... the prospect of finding and registering on another internet board doesn't really appeal to me at all. It's ok But on a side note, did anyone else find the testimonial written by Roen Horn to be really creepy?

Hello, I finished this book a little while ago, and did my best to write an objective review on Amazon.com (it was difficult because I am biased towards the diet). However I was left wondering why Dr. Graham recommends eating any "overt" fat at all. He never explained that... I hope it isn't because "80/10/10" rolls off the tongue better than "87ish/10/3ish" Also, h

you know it for a fact? lol. who knows, dude. If the essene gospel of peace is the real deal, and a psychic told me it was (again, who knows), then yes he was. And he also advocated never eating to more than 2/3 fullness and giving yourself a sort of colonic using a hollowed out gourd.

you need at least a hundred days a year over 100 degrees for a date palm to do its thing. You can't even grow a date that tastes like a real date in hawaii or florida. You need that dry desert heat.

Good god has anyone else here been to this thing?? I just got back from my very first time there and it blew my mind!! I live in San Diego and have only been to the markets in Del Mar, La Jolla, and Solana Beach. It was at least 10 times the size of any other one I have been to before and just packed with every food thing you could think of, a true raw food paradise. Just to give an idea, I saw 3

Hi Bryan, since you seem to be a nice example of long-term success eating the way I do I sometimes wonder if you have written your story out somewhere in detail that I could peruse. And are you the author Bryan Au?

Well, to be on the safe side you might want to avoid eating venus flytraps. And yeah you are right. I would say that to really claim 100% raw you must grow all your own stuff and eat it fresh, ripe and in season. I also agree with the dates, I always feel different after some dates than with almost anything else, and not in a good way. But every so often I just must have some.

yes, and this is a good unprocessed date farm too but the greatest to me are derries from flying disc. btw, dates taste super super good with fuji apples.

^ Having spent lots of time in Palm Desert (it is so gorgeous out there!) I have thought about the natural heat technically "cooking" it as well. It doesn't really bother me. But I think it is very rare to find dates that have been dried. They come off the tree just like we find them in stores.

15 isn't bad... they aren't very filling. When you eat them by themselves you can go through a whole bunch. I eat them with other stuff for that reason. What kind of dates have you all tried? So far I have had Honey, Empress, Black Sphinx, Medjool, Dayri, and Deglet Noor. My favorite was either empress or dayri.

Good luck growing fruit trees from seeds! People at nurseries will look at you like you are crazy, that sort of growing is just not done. It's all about grafting. as far as buying more mature trees, like in 15 gallon pots and beyond, know that know matter how big the tree is (or even if it has fruit on it when you buy it) after transplanting it will take a few years for it to really start bearing

would you want to eat 10 a day for long periods? Certainly not. I agree about overcomplicating things. And that extends to organic vs. not. Basically when it comes to the tropical fruits, conventional is fine. Papayas, mangos, avocados, bananas, and so on. I really think the people claiming that organic tropical fruit tastes markedly better are imagining things. I always buy conventional pineappl

some of the best bananas I've ever had were conventional. Those Dole Ecuadorian grown cavendish bananas are awesome! Really dense and chewy, with a lot of sweetness and depth of flavor.

Be warned, once you eat a salad with a smoothie dressing it will ruin you for all other foods. Say goodbye to mono! When it is time for my weekly 1/2 avocado I add the slices to the salad... man is it decadent with huge, soft sugary strawberries, luscious golden ataulfo mango, maui gold pineapple, huge creamy bananas, meaty, dripping navel oranges on a bed of fresh peppery aruguala + a smoothie

cravings... are interesting. You probably have a virus that needs to be fed. I wish I were a medical intuitive, I would help you for sure. Wondering why David Mason posted a picture of a tile floor? that's just abstract enough to make me laugh a bit.

that's great! I eat the same way, and I love it too! I go through like 20-25 pieces of fruit a day though. One suggestion that makes eating greens enjoyable, put fruit and sprouts in your salad and pour a 12 or so oz fruit smoothie (and throw greens or a green powder in that too!) over your salad like a dressing! it's really awesome, I never worry about it being a bad combination, it always diges

I like Dr. Graham's approach very much as well, and have had such such a better healthful reaction to high fruit/low fat than the opposite. Don't buy any more books unless your curiosity must be satisfied, just fresh sweet fruit until you are satisfied, add some daily dark greens, 1/2 to one whole avo per week, and the occasional glass of celery juice (for sodium) and that's the gist of it for me
