Hi Pl The daily mail link article regarding the build up of keratin.... 'The tiny raised rough bumps on your skin are known keratosis pilaris (KP, or literally 'heaps of keratin', a protein found in skin, hair and nails). ' I found this very interesting as the author also attributes the keratin build up to low intake of EFAs. This theory works for me. When im raw, the skin on the top

Hi rab Sorry to dissapoint but i was not predominantly raw inbetween times. Apart from trasitioning to a higher level of raw in my diet, then combining raw and cooked just really does not work for me. Once I reach a certain level of raw, I need to maintain it, otherwise I slip back into old habits very quickly! I remained vegan for the most part, eating some veggie dishes with friends ocassion

Im on a roll at the moment, increasing my raw food intake and feeling better for it. Over the past 8 years I have sucessfully managed to stay raw for over six months three times. I have also managed many 3 or 4 month stints. I have never tracked my diet regarding nutrients or fat intake, just eaten what i wanted when i felt like it. Maybe i need to look at this. I need to get some help and

Its not wax, its some form form of ropy old phlegm! I have tried several facial steams today with Ravensara essential oil, followed by neck and lymp massage. Its wonderful. The steam appears to temporarily expand releiving the pressure for a while. I then resorted to driving up and down a steep hill to try and get the ear to 'pop'. Any distraction from writing a dissertation proposal will

Hi pborst I just saw your post on the'juicer questions' thread. I have a Kempo for home use. We have a phillips centrifugal at work. I need to replace it, but know that most staff would not be keen on the clean up involved in a twin gear. Thats why I looked at the huron 400. I like the fact that its vertical, easy to clean and wont take up much space on the counter. Also it can be rinsed

I suffered from bloating for many years. Its tough to live with both emotionally and physically. These dietry changes helped me deal with bloating: To start with, I did a juice feast for 2 weeks. That was amazing. It helped reboot my system and clear me out! When i returned to solid food, the bloating returned. Someone on this site suggested mono eating. I did a week of juice feasting foll

Thanks for your comments. I feel that the eustachian is blocked. There is no ear wax present to irrigate in the external canal. I wish there was as that could easily be remedied! Prana, I agree that its probably something that needs time and rest to allow it clear. I have met this place several times and only managed to work through it once. Unfortunately, Im not in a position to rest just n

Hi powerlifer My fat intake has been low recently. I will increase it and see what happens. Come to think about it, my fat intake would have been low every time that I experienced these symptoms in the past. Thanks for your help

Oscar HU-400 Pro Electric Cold Press Anyone own one of these? I did a search but could not find anything. Would like your feedback if you have used one. Im about to invest in another juicer. Its around £350.00 in Uk. There are many reliable choices on the market for that kind of money. Clean up looks very quick and the pulp appears to be very dry. FFX

Hi Having lots of problems with ear congestion. This always happens about three or four months into eating a very high raw diet or having juice feasted for a couple of weeks. If I ease off on raw the ears return to 'normal', so its connected. Its driving me crazy. My hearing is impaired and there appears to be some inflammation / pressure. (sinuses are clear) Im using chamomile essential

Its been my experience that what Prana has posted is correct. Most diseases are caused by habits or diet we have that are not in accordance with our body's needs. Once we take responsibility for our own health, true healing has the opportunity to occur. Some of us have difficulty taking on board that we are responsible for creating our personal imbalances. Those of us who can see this

Hi rab I think that its good to make people aware, then they can make an informed deision as to how they wish to proceed. Many are unaware of the possible health risks involved. Wifi is logarithmic, so the closer, the more harmful. Having wifi switched on the phone drains the battery very quickly, so its obviousy using a lot of power. My friend's daughter was diagnosed with epilepsy in her

Hi Sarah I was shocked to hear your story. I thought that I had a tough time, but what happened your mother was terrible. I Find myself in a similar position to you. I didn't notice WIFI until I became sensitised. I now recognise the effect it has on me within minutes of being exposed. The problem is that I'm exposed to it most of the time. I have at least 6 households operating nearby. The s

Hi Jonathan Barlow I recognise those symptoms. It only happens when I chew the flesh of the pineapple. I usually eat a pineapple a day. Its fine if I blend it into a smoothie, even if its simlpy pineapple water and ice.

I was discussing the wifi issue at work today. One of my colleagues has a daughter that suffers from epilepsy. She had been fit free for years. Within the last 6 weeks, she suddenly had 3 fits. Wifi was installed at home 7 weeks ago and her daughter also bought a wifi enabled phone. Another college explained that she installed wifi at home about 9 months ago. Her daughter becomes sick and de

Hi juicerkatz I juiced some runner beans once with some other veggies. I had terrible stomach pains within about 10 mins. It made me quite sick. I posted a thread about it on this site a couple of years ago. I eat the raw french beans that I grow myself in salads.

Hi coco. You are right, impossible to avoid. I suppose that the only control that we have as individuals is not to install it in our own homes. I had a computer engineer visit today to sort out connectivity issues. He demonstrated that there were at least 6 wifi units operating in the vicinity. I cant avoid them. He did feel that distancing myself from the router would help a little if I

Hi la_veronique Thanks for your support. I really appreciate it. I'm still a little shaky after my recent experience, not quite rebalanced yet! Im working from home for a couple of days, so i have a little time to rest and restore. I have checked out some physical protective mechanisms, but so far I haven't come across anything that feels right for me. I'm buzzing with all sorts of ide

Hi la_veronique I hope this stays on the larger food forum too. I wanted to share my experience, so that it may raise awareness of this issue. Hopefully my story will allow others to bypass the experience. Im pleased to hear that you got rid of your WIFI. I also forgot to mention in my initial post, that I also experienced regular palpitations during the time that the WIFI was connected. I

Hi Everyone I have been living on a high raw fruit based diet and keeping excellent health. 5 days ago I became very sick. I could not understand why. The symptoms started with headaches around the temple area and behind the eyes. Nausea and then diarrhea followed. I felt a little dizzy and disorientated. I took some pain killers out of desperation, they made no difference. The pain and t

If chocolate appeared to relieve the pain, could the headaches be due to caffeine withdrawal symptoms? Caffeine withdrawal creates terrible throbbing headaches. If so, I suggest you sort out the caffeine issue before fasting. Also, is it wise to water fast and work at the same time? Maybe a juice fast/ feast could provide a suitable alternative to the deeper level cleansing that you are s

I have all the 'symptoms' of a full body rash, but nothing to see. Itching, irritation, etc I have had it for 7 days now. This time last year i had these symptoms for 5 weeks after being exposed to a toxic substance at work. It drove me nuts! I have obviously avoided the product since then. These symptoms are exactly the same, but thankfully milder, yet none the less tricky to deal with.

For me it was not a wise investment as regards my raw food journey. It makes a fantastic herb drier in the late summer months and fills the house with beautiful aromas whilst they dry. I have an excalibur 9 tray. I bought it when i started out on my raw journey to make the gourmet foods. Gourmet did not suit me. I found those foods difficult to digest and dehydrating. Also very time cons

I love to eat them with soaked almonds, sprouted seeds and pesto alongside a huge green salad. Yum. When I first went raw and experimented with loads of uncooking, I made a pie filling out of avos by combining them with lime juice and coconut oil. I placed this in a 'nut pie crust' then froze it. I would remove it from the freezer about half an hour before eating. We called it 'ice cream pi
