Hi Chat, I don't know where you live, but are you sure it's present day earth??? I really hope that the 'GENERAL PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE ACCEPTED BY ALL LEVELS' regarding the adequacy of a vegan diet for the healing of body tissue you speak of, actually becomes the reality in the future. And you said it yourself, that most restaurants cater for 'vegatarians'. However, if you stop anyone in the stre

La-Veronique, check out the bottom of page four under the title 'Total Hip Replacement' by Geo (my previous pseudonym). Thx Coco girl, and I will. In fact, I had the 'staples' removed last Wednesday and I've just got to tell you all what happened. I had thought the 25cm long wound (longer than I had thought) was held together by sutures, but no, one staple each 5 millimetre. Anyway, the nur

Haha I though so sproutman, as when anyone mentions the 'bush' they have to be an ozzie. Thx for the info too, and it seems that most are pretty good, but the porket manual all metal would last longest I reckon. I really like the old hand tools too, like drills etc. Yes, they're slow, but we live at such a pace these days that I believe we should slow down a little and concentrate on qualit

Hi Joanna, Even the greenstarelite shouldn't throw up that much foam. Usually, the finer the screen, the more foam is produced, it's inevitable. I'd talk to the retailer you bought it from first. But what are you juicing? Carrots produce only a little foam with my 'super angel', but apples foam up more. Also, I find that leafy greens foam up too. I don't worry about it, as eventually th

Hi Wildli, this happened to me when I went all raw, but before I began to juice regularly. I had a fruit salad for my midday meal and a veg salad at night. Straight after I ate the fruit, I'd feel sleepy and would bomb out for half an hour. This happened every time and I still don't know why. I found that the veg salad was too heavy just prior to sleep time, so I swapped my meals. Therefore

A convincing argument skyfeather, though I'd imagine that a top class manufacturer would make sure the container is strong enough to withstand high speed blending, whether plastic or glass. Moreover, even my old underpowered 'Sunbeam' has an extra thick 'glass' container, and it's difficult to imagine it ever breaking under load whatever speed. Anyway, personally, I prefer glass regardless

Rab said,,,I am trying to learn who I am. That's all. I believe that most of us on this forum are, rather than living by those 'ideological rules' you spoke of that represents our culture, and that many follow blindly. I also prefer to live a peaceful life, as far as I can. And yes, I believe it's an Ideal, but one that I have chosen, though tempered by my idea of balance. And is the reason

Hey, I have the dressing changed and the sutures removed on my 20cm long cut tomorrow, two weeks from the op. So, I'm interested in how much the wound has healed. The reason it's significant is due to the argument that a raw vegan does not get enough 'PROTEIN' in their diet.... This will be telling I should imagine, Cheers, jalan

Great advice rawlion, as you can almost taste the iron in it. Also, parsley has a k more nutrients than any other leafy veg...or so I've read. I chop it fine and add to my veg salad, but not too much as it's a strong tasting veg.

Yes, you're right Tam hahaha you caught me out, I'm not worried, just wanted a chat Rzman, Total hip replacement with a ceramic femoral head and ceramic acetabulum. The surgeon said that the damaged joint doesn't get any worse. I'd been walking with bone on bone for so long that the acetabular cup had worn shallow and the femoral head (ball) wasn't round anymore. the surgeon had to reem in

Thank you all so much for your best wishes and encouragement Kidraw, those links you posted suggest some pretty scary stuff, with the further link to cognitive disfunction post-surgery. And it's something that we all should consider when all else fails and we opt for the knife. You all were so supportive in making sure that I had all the relevent info regarding the pros and cons before I m

What???? I don't know what happened there, but it seems that my message somehow decided all by itself that I'd said enough hahah lol. Anyway, what I was trying to say, is that it's times like this that out diet is really tested, such as whether we are actually getting enough nutrients etc. My rapid healing and recovery is proof that it is. I feel like, and I really have, begun another new c

Hi all my good friends, Well, I'm back from the ordeal, and healing well. I went into theatre mid morning on Wednesday the 4th July, and was out early avo. I hope that those of you in the US raised an extra toast (smoothy) for me while you celebrated your day of Independence! The first 18hrs were the worst, with that nasty anaesthetic flowing around my circulatory system. However, it was el

Hmmm, well that's a 'good' thought Panchito, and I like the analogy. So, to those of us left behind when someone dies, death looks permanent, and who really knows what, if anything comes after death. Perhaps we do shine elsewhere. Perhaps Plato was right, and we do have an immortal soul or consciousness! If you noticed, I never say that what I believe or suggest is indeed a fact, unless there

La-veronique, what I'm saying, is that there's no consciousness between births. The consciousness only belongs to a body, and when that body ceases to function, then so does the brain, hence consciousness. We are unique within ourselves while we are alive. We are, I am. Every birth, every life has a consciousness which is who we are. I'm sorry that this is so onerous to explain, as it's a d

Language is our reality, our thoughts, our experiences. Everything is defined by language, semantics or the meaning of words. That is what differentiates each culture. For what is culture, but a way of living based on a social system and the meanings that are applied to it. We only know of what's 'OUT THERE' by our five senses. Therefore, can we say that is all that is OUT THERE? Or is ther

Hi Sproutman, yes, the angel looks great on the benchtop. Mine's really a 7500 too, which has the auto reverse unlike the 5500 which only has the manual reverse switch. Apart from that, there's no other difference. I'm surprised you say 'easy' clean-up. Most people who own plastic juicers always say it's too hard haha. Really though, it's all relative to the efficiency of the machine. I don

Have you ever tried 'oat milk'? Depends on the brand, but the one I substituted soy milk for is from 'vitasoy' and it tastes almost exactly like the soy milk I used to use which wasn't a 'vitasoy' soy milk. jalan

Perhaps produce grown from GMO seed would pass the organic certification process??? Also, the manager may know where the produce was grown, and how long ago etc. In my neck of the woods, supermarket organics are way more expensive than the local organic store. jalan

I've found a vendor who doesn't say his produce it organic, because he sometimes uses what he calls a fairly safe pesticide. However, it's only occasionally, and usually it's all 100% organic. His spinach and lettuce will last a full week in the fridge without any decay whatsoever, and when bent in half, the stalk will give that tell-tale audible 'snap', which denotes freshness. Never, has
