Will 'Fasting' hasten the removal of toxins that cause withdrawral symptoms? Or will there be no difference?

True Utopian Life, but while we don't need to justify our choices, there may be a knock-on effect that would see others take up the challenge. jalan

Hey LRV, I feel for you buddy, but those obnoxious people are in the minority these days. I bet you find that the problem becomes worse in the presence of alcohol, and as with any controversial subject, it's best to just walk away when the discussion turns into an argument. I sometimes say things like, 'It's my choice and I've never felt better or healthier than in all my life, and I'd prefer not

Hi beautiful people, As from yesterday (2nd Aug, 1 month since surgery) I don't need the stick at all, even when standing from being seated for a length of time. However, I have been using just one stick when going for my walk since there is still a little pain and also the danger of dislocation. Dislocation will be the only thing I'll have to be careful of duing the next few months. Che

Thank you Prism yes, and it's like everything is happening in reverse. For years before my op, the pain was slowly increasing with less and less mobility. And now it's like it's all reversing rapidly in fast motion, and soon I won't have any pain at all with full mobility and full extention. I can't wait to get back on my Harley and back windsurfing again...you beauty! jalan x

Those ripe nanas would be easily digestible and would provide almost instant energy. So I'm not surprised by Blake's results, and as long as he continues to 'believes' it, the psychological aspect will also help him. Just don't let DR read the article Fresh, as we'll never hear the end of it LOL jalan

Hi all, Well, as from yesterday (31st July) I can walk without any walking sticks and without very much discomfort (not even one month since the op). However, I do need a little help when I first stand, from being seated for a considerable length of time. For this, I only use one stick, as it appears that the muscles sort of 'gel' when seated and there's a little pain when re-energising them a

Perhaps Doug is refering to the acidic reaction of all grains in our body! However, after ingestion sprouted grain would have a base-forming or alkaline reaction. It's well known that base-forming foods (fruit/veg) are healthier than acid-forming foods (all animal products/grains). Cheers, jalan

I cover with cling wrap (with or without the stone) and refigerate it. Yes, after a day, the cut part that's been exposed to the air has turned a brownish hue. However, I just cut off that brown section and the avo is normal colour underneath. The avo will last almost a week like this, but it appears that some people don't try to see how far the 'brown' has penetrated into the avo, and just th

My Angelic machine is still running great with no decrease in performance. Actually, it seems to be running smoother and more quiet, so maybe it's 'run in' now haha Isha, you might come across someone who'll say that their machine creates BONE DRY pulp. Well, that's just not true. I've explained many times that 'bone dry' means the absence of all moisture, like dry flour or literally old bone

I always peel the fruits skyfeather, and agree with Tam. It's possible that there's some nutrient that's in the skin but not in the fruit, like vit P in citrus rind (I think, so don't quote me). But like Tam said, even with organic you just don't know what's come into contact with the fruit in transit. With vegies I'm not so strict, but I do wash them thoroughly, and even use a rough scouring

Dark green leafy vegies seem to work really well, but I vary the greens, such as spinach with kale. Although, I don't like the taste of kale much, and there are heaps of different varieties of spinach, so I usually go with that. jalan

Thx heaps John, excellent post. I knew about #9 and #19 regarding animals, but none of the rest. However, I knew of people, and have been told of people who, on changing their diet also underwent a personality change simultaneously. From a tendency to be judgemental and aggressive, to a more understanding empathetic attitude, and I've seen this even within myself. I did find connection #1 belo

Hi Wandera Prior to my hip problem I worked out at the gym on an average once each day. I wasn't really trying to gain muscle, just fitness. However, I was continuing to gain in strength even though muscle bulk was almost not noticable. Of course, it's such a slow process that even though I didn't notice it much, my friends sure did, especially the ladies Now I guess you would like to know a

Hi Esisser I definately feel much more connected to all creation, but there's more. It's like I'm almost there, and what I mean by 'there' is that I can still become more connected somehow. I know my consciousness is seperate from all others, at least while my body is alive. However, the feeling I get is that it's possible to become an even more connected consciousness. Now, this is really

Now that's a really good point to make. I often think of people in countries where quality food is scarce. Most of us live in such affluent lands that this issue just doensn't have a voice. But if it did, I'm sure there'd be a very different forum... jalan

Howdy Folks, I've been thinking of leaping into the 21st century by purchasing a tablet or android pad. The laptop that I take to uni is pretty good, a 12" Dell, but it's still too heavy and takes up too much room in my backpack. I've heard about a hard protective case with protective corners in you drop your pad or tablet. The best part though is that you can slot your tablet into the

Hi Isha Paul is right, as even though my juicer is the 'Angelia', it's identical except that mine is the 7500 model with the auto reverse feature (mine has NEVER accidently activated). Oh, mine also has the 10yr waranty, so I don't understand why there's only a 5yr waranty in the Uk??? Very strange, maybe the cold weather in the UK effects the machine LOL

If people want to fight, I don't see why they can't do it via the PM function. Why do they always want/need an audience??? Ok re Rocket. I reckon raw is best, simply cause that's what's natural. And what no-one has pointed to yet is our RDA. For example, just because a food releases twice as much of a certain nutrient cooked than when eaten raw, does it really matter if we don't need much of t

Yes, that was interesting John, and these days I tend to believe there's more to it than only basic coincidence. Chat, I didn't think you were, but I thought your POV was interesting. It seems that we both have experienced each end of the spectrum. Anyway, I'll post the encounter with my Doc when it happens, but it'll be awhile since I don't have another appointment until mid August, when I'm

Well, I still reckon most people believe that we need animal products to be healthy. It's still one of the first things people ask me when they find out I eat mainly raw veg and fruit, 'But where do you get your protein'. Also, the complete protein myth extends the belief that vegans cannot be healthy, by suggesting that there's only one non-animal form. At work, a group of us guys were cha

John was just making a point chat, and is definately not a 'nutter' if that is what you were suggesting. If not, then I apopogise. I believe the point being that what you've said in a previous thread entitled 'Protein' is what we could all say, including you, is more of a 'common knowledge' than that a vegan is protein saturated, and that's the argument regarding 'complete protein'. Thx John, and

I agree that the evidence is out there and available for anyone to access if they want. But that's the trouble, they don't want, and prefer to beleive in the general consensus that humans need animal products for protein. Also, I think that you'll find that the 'general consensus' is that humans need meat, dairy products and/or eggs to gain enough protein to reach their RDA. The main thrust of
