Thx Tam, that advice re the moisture content of some vegies, such as mushies you mentioned, is a good rule of thumb. Actually, I think that I might rely on some friends to keep me in good supply of food, rather than to fill both fridges with frozen/fresh food. I'm a fairly independent private person, and I don't have myriads of friends, though the friends I do have are true friends indeed.

Oh, would it be better to freeze each veg separately, or all together in a prepared frozen meal? I thought that perhaps some vegies won't freeze well, or will decay at a different rate than others. Cheers, jalan

Thx heaps guys, and I do know that flavour will suffer but I was thinking of freezing fully prepared raw meals. Also, I’ve a spare bar fridge in the garage that I can use, and even though the freezer section is small, it’s still better than nothing. I need to store meals for around 4 weeks, and I cannot drive for 6 weeks. Even though I’d probably be able to drive after a week, if I have

I was wondering what vegies can be frozen. When I'm home from my OP, I doubt if I'll be able to walk to the supermarket for food. I'm not able to drive for six weeks, so is it possible to freeze my vegie salads??? I'll appreciate any input about this, Cheers, Jalan

Hi Luvyuu, I haven't read all the comments, but it sounds like your body's trying to heal itself of something. So when you 'fast', this healing is intensified as more energy is then available for healing and not digestion. Apoligies if someones mentioned this already. But if not, I think maybe a less severe fast would be more beneficial, such as a juice fast until the pain lessens as your body

I believe that even the soaking process removes much of the toxins within seeds, but cooking is more thorough. I know this to be true re soya beans. I would go for sprouting, since all (most) grains are 'acid forming', whereas all fruit and veg is 'base forming' or 'alkaline'. However, I not know whether the sprouted seed becomes alkaline though. I'd say it does, which means it's much better f

Thank you Prana, for being so open in telling of your experience. I found that the spiritual and emotional awakenings difficult to deal with, and you must know from my posts, that I'm still negotiating this terrain. For me, this is more stressful than the transition to a raw vegan diet. The family trouble that I'm having atm is opening many old wounds from my childhood. But I know that this is

Hi and welcome....Detox will begin almost immediately, especially if you eat lots of citrus like oranges. However, detox can become quite uncomfortable, but you can slow it down by eating a little of the food that you're trying to give up. Please be flexible, as it's no race, and it's much better to go slow and enjoy the transition rather than be hell bent on not giving in to cravings and loo

Is this the same company and people who John Kohler had a bad experience with? And why are you so down on the Angel, as this is another thread that you've started with the same youtube video. Have you also had a bad experience John??? jalan

JJ, as with all dual gear juicers I believe, one drive gear turns the other as you say, but the mix up is concerning the cork screw section where the nicks are found in Cetana's machine. These do not touch; therefore, it must be a manufacturing fault. Regarding the stainless steel used for the gear, the type 304 stainless is extremely durable and wear resistant. It contains a minimum of 18% ch

No worries Paul, I've been called much worse names LOL Actually, the first three letters for Geoff and George are geo, so that could be where you messed up.

I'm guessing that the 'George' that Paul is refering to is actually me, though my given name is Geoff. Look, I agree with Paul, as I'm not going to let one person's bad experience influence my choice of juicer. I wanted a juicer that extracted the most juice, and I bought it, enough said. Cheers, jalan

Thx also for posting that link HH, sad but beautiful. I had a similar relationship with a red persian puss that was our substitute child who we bought as a kitten and cared for until he died at 16yrs old from a brain tumor. I wouldn't have believed how we grieved for him, and it has given me a new outlook and attitude regarding the relationship btw humans and animals. Cheers, jalan

Hmmm, adding mint might make for a nice change of flavour hey! I'm afraid that I'm having a difficult time with taste, as a green smoothie doesn't taste that great. I'll take rawlion's advice and slowly add greens to get used to it. Thx buddy

Cetana, there shouldn't be any squeaking either, but if the strainer housing is touching that part of the gears, have a look inside the sieve attachment and you should be able to see where it's rubbing. The location of those nicks shouldn't interfere with the juicing process anyway, but definately sounds like a manufacturing problem. And according to Juicin John, it seems as though there's a l

Juicin John, I only noticed that post recently, as I do have a life outside this forum. I did explain the reason for my name change, but I don't see how it's anyone's business but mine. Regarding the Angel, my gears don't get hot; therefore, don't touch as you say, and I cannot see where they can be adjusted either. Having said that, there have been many different models of Angel over the y

There's no way that could happen with use or misuse, since you said the 'nicks' are at the second stage of the gears. They don't even meet together; therefore, it must be a manufacturing problem. Even if these 'nicks' were at the point where the produce is crushed, there would have to be a major misalignment for that to happen, since the gears would have to connect in a way that would chip the me

Hi, I'd really like to know to what extent does your blender pulverise passionfruit seeds? My old 800w 'sunbeam' does a pretty good job of it when I'm blending a fruit smoothie. I'd like to know the make of your blender, and how good does it blend the passionsfruit seeds? Cheers, jalan

Thank you Philippa, I totally agree with you. And as far as our world of noise is concerned, I like to sit quietly, stop my thoughts and focus on all my senses. I can't explain how it makes me feel, relaxed, peaceful and at ease, for the beauty of our world is indeed magical. And yes, intuition has all but been lost to humanity, but as you have said, we still have remnants of some form of tele

Really great info in this thread, and yes, I read in a book by 'Richard Passwater' called 'Super Nutrition' that the liver can produce up to 25mg of cholesterol each day. Or was that 250mg??? It was like over 30yrs ago, but anyway, I was surprised by this at the time. Also, I totally agree regarding acid forming foods being a causal factor. Now that means all animal products, grains and some n

Yes, I do believe we have much to learn from them. When I began my raw food journey, fish when I was swimming and birds in particular would seem to have no fear of me, and they would come quite close, even hoping up on my leg if I was sitting down. To me, it seemed that they were inquisitive, like they were thinking, 'Now he's different, I wonder what he's about', or that since I was changing my

Yes Prana, that and processed food. It seems quite simple really, to opt for unprocessed food, which for most will mean more work, such as preparation and cooking. The food industry has made it easy with processed and even pre-cooked food and microwave ovens etc. I reckon it will be a hard slog to re-educate people who have been preparing amd cooking this way for decades or all their lives. I

Look, since reading this post I have taken the top off my machine, and it's nothing like what your saying Dimon . Yes, there is a plastic cover over the massive motor, and also a hard plastic piece that covers and seals off any leakage of oil etc between the motor and the outer stainless steel housing. Therefore, all the plastic bits do, is to seal off any potential leakage of oil from the arm

Hmmm, ok thx RawPlease for adding to what I know. Here in Oz, the zoo's actually do try to protect havitat as well as increasing the population and then they return the animal to the protected area, which is usually a national park that's protected. But of course a zoo is a business, and all of what you have stated is true to some extent or to a large extent depending on which zoo it is. It's ver

Hi spectum, and you're right, eating some cooked food will lessen your detox. Please don't be too hard on yourself, as the process should be an enlightening experience. How? Cause you will see and feel the benefits of your change in diet. So, it's ok to slow down the detox if it gets too heavy. Rawlion is right, and even though everyone is different, it still takes about six months for the wor
