does anyone have thoughts on being raw with clotting problems, and on blood thinners that would be hampered by Vit K, greens? Thanks for suggestions, experiences, knowledge, known success stories, etc., in advance.

I always blend the stalks in my smoothies and I haven't ever noticed a problem with the taste. I add a cup of blueberries, but that is the only fruit. I don't find my smoothies bitter - I don't use any sweeteners other than the blueberries.

There is no way I can afford 25 lbs of organic greens per day at about $4/lb. So do I just give up and call it a day?

I hate cleaning the blender after fruit and greens, I can't imagine peanut butter. But that is just me.

Banana, John Kohler has a ton of videos on You Tube and he has a few making nut butters which he did very recently. His videos are under "rawfoods" He did all kinds of nut butters, and put the product through several times - each time it got a little more stuck together. Though he said the raw nuts were less fatty than the roasted, I think. Anyway, check it out = very informative

I'm gathering there is an income limit on this board. Since I won't be able to afford a Greenstar, should I just accept the fact that I am not worthy of juicing? For sure, not worthy of being on this board. i Someday, someday maybe be I'll be as classy as Juicin' John. That's what good juicing gives you. Class!

I am actually researching juicers also. Do you feel the carrot juice in the Omega 8006 is like drinking sawdust? Also in reviews I read on Amazon there were some people that said they got shavings from the coating on the auger because of the right fit. Did you see that at all? I unfortunately will only have the means to try the juicer that I purchase, and cannot afford to try many juicers.

If it makes you feel any better, I used to be 110 lbs at 5'5", and I thought I was fat.

It is really hard to find anything seeded anymore - well I notice the grapes and watermelon. When they came out with the non-seeded watermelon, I though, Wow, how great. Now that I have read about hybridized fruits, i am like where is that seeded stuff.

So on the grapes for instance. I have read that the seeds are really where the nutrition is. When I went to Costco a few weeks ago they had the red seeded grapes from Mexico - so I got those and blended them. Otherwise - they are actually the only seeded grapes I have seen since I started trying to eat more raw. So which to go for - the revestrol or whatever it is in the non-organic see

That happened to me in the blender with fruit and water, when I used parsley - but I also used another green. I am sure it wasn't just parsley as my only green.

It was Doug Graham on the VegSource 80-10-10 message board who said they were toxic. Someone asked because they had been told at a Raw Food Seminar that they were toxic, and he said they weren't good for you, but probably wouldn't kill you - or something to that effect. The question caught my eye because I had just bought a big thing of celery at a farmer's market and was all excited by all the

Thanks, so that is one for toxic - and one for you can eat them. Almost like the flip of a coin.

I just read on another forum that celery leaves are toxic. Is that true? I have been breaking off the top of the stalks first in my smoothies because I like the flavor so much.

Okay, so I have been making green smoothies for dinner for a tad over a week now, and the last two days the greens have been parsley and romaine. Should I not use parsley in my smoothy? It seems to have some gelling property that makes my smoothy congeal. What is going on? Or is it the romaine?

I am really not a troll if that is what you are thinking. I am really wanting to know. I want to go on a raw food diet, because I am wanting to 1) lose weight - and hope that alone will erase a lot of my symptoms because I think they are weight related. 2) Hoping that eating healthy can further reduce damage I may have done to myself from years of SAD. I had started doing this because of

There is a video on YouTube entitled, "Brian and Anna Maria Clement on fruits, sprouts and weeds," where they(he) are being interviewed, and he says that no more than 15% of the diet, if that much, should be fruit. I know I was watching a Paul Nisson video last night where he said 4 or 5 fruits a week. The Arnold's Way videos are so inspiring and I though I could do that easy. But

What exactly is a healthy raw food diet? I was going to start out with Joel Fuhrman - 4 fruits a day, 1 lb raw veggies, 1 lb cooked veggies - but thought I might have a problem with the cooked. Then I found the Arnold's way videos, and thought - hey I could do this - a big salad and fruit and veggie smoothies. Then I found the Brian Clement/Paul Nisson philosophy - fruits cause cancer.

My Vitamix is on it's way and I am very excited. I have been watching a lot of videos on U-tube about smoothies, etc. and here are my questions. And thanks in advance. 1) I never see anyone washing the fruits or greens. Even when they just pull it out of the plastic bag. Do organic veggies, etc. not need washing before eating, blending? 2) When they cut up apples, they don't remove the
