I've always found cucumber works well in juice. If you're using enough other produce you should have a very flavorful juice, not at all watered down. Maybe you're getting cucumbers with bitter skins. If so, peeling them may help. Or if they're not organic, try organic ones.

Florida Avocados are a bit tricky as they often aren't very flavorful compared to the black Hass ones. Oddly enough being in Florida, I still rarely find them. Of course I'm only looking in the organic section (I rarely find much local organic). I would say Florida avocados are better if you're just looking to add them to a recipe for fat/protein or to make the meal more dense, rather than on the

I'm back to juicing again and now that I have figured out different ways for it to be more effective, I am very happy with how simple the Omega Vert is, especially compared to the other juicers I've tried. It's perfect for people who want to incorporate juicing or fasting into their lives, but can't devote much time and energy to it. Here's some tips that work for me, that may help others who don

Dancing! The best ever. It can be high energy & fast or slower and meditative. It's all fun. I also incorporate aerobic & a bit of yoga-type moves. It can be done anywhere, solo or with others. With or without music. Any type of music can work depending on your mood.

I bought tons of pre-made snacks & sometimes meals. It really helped. I had bulk raw supplies for when I needed to make something-like nuts/seeds, butters, sundried tomatoes, etc. I've always had quick, simple foods I can throw together to make something, since the last thing you want to do is worry about making anything. Taco wraps, gourmet salads, cucumber w/spread, pasta, tomato slices w/ch

I love chia seeds. I make a pudding with them for when I'm out since I rarely drink water then. Chia Seed Gel: 1/3 cup seeds to 2 cups water. Stir. Refrigerate in enclosed container. Soak 10 min. minimum, though the longer the more nutrients are released.

As long as you're getting good quality, raw, organic seaweed where they test for toxins, there should be no issue with any of it. It's rare to find it in the stores other than occasionally. I've tried inferior chlorella tablets, for example, and the taste is not the same at all. So stick with known good sources like many of the raw suppliers carry.

I love hemp seeds. They're nothing like the oil or protein powder, which I don't like. I use them in smoothies and puddings. Actually improves the taste. Chia seeds are the other seeds I use and also love.

If you make sure to get only the fresh, organic sun-dried dates, you'd be better off. The other dates may not be raw and to me there's a big difference in taste between fresh & dehydrated. In general, it's hard to find truly raw fruit in the stores and also it should definitely be organic.

I find myself needing much less spices and flavoring the longer I'm raw. I still use garlic, though not as much and eventually it will rarely be used. I like cayenne pepper & kelp and use those the most. I enjoy the taste of real food now instead of always having to doctorate it to make it palatable like SAD. There are foods I never ate before, let alone raw. So much fun!

I never have a problem with smoothies not being good later. Just shake it up in the bottle and drink. I also make batches of soup (savory smoothies) that last a few days and are fine also. I'd barely eat anything if I had to make something each and every time. I prefer to refrigerate rather than freeze fruit & liquids because it seems to become almost tasteless frozen. The store bought stu

Quick answers: #1: And we've gotten more and more sick as time passes on. If you research why today's meat is so toxic, you will have a better understanding. #2: not everyone takes a vitamin B12 supplement & there is no proof meat eater are just as deficient. There's tons more to health and raw than just those couple of things you've brought up. I'm sure many others will give their a

Nubster Wrote: I would use mango but I LOVE them so much that I feel like not eating them plain is a waste...lol Me too. Mangoes are my favorite fruit. Banana, mango & other tropical fruit tend to be the most flavorful. While all the rest you just need to increase the quantity for them to work well. If they're too watery, you can add other things for bulk such as avocado or other fats.

I never liked typical breakfast foods and especially didn't understand eating extremely sweet foods first thing in the morning. And all pure junk. When I was SAD I ate all types of things: soup, pasta, leftovers like chinese, whatever I felt like. I ate some breakfast/sweet things too, but it was never consistent. I tend to be addicted to savory more than sweet. With raw, I stick with a more t

I like chlorella powder the best because it actually tastes good compared to the others, has tons of nutrients and is versatile to be used daily or for a portable meal. Ocean’s Alive Liquid Marine Phytoplankton is my favorite though of all the green supplements because it's the most effective and extremely portable (barely takes up room).

Hope you enjoy them. You can also make a celery tomato soup either based on that recipe or without the juice, by adding more tomato or water. You can try different spices as well.

I love Bariani olive oil. It's one of the only true olive oils. Think there's only a couple in the U.S. and a couple imported from Italy. The rest are not raw, unfortunately. I did a lot of research on this. Whole Foods here never has it and likely they would overprice it anyhow. Online is the best option. You shouldn't have to pay more than $25 for a liter, usually you can buy it for way less.

I always tell people I'm raw and I've never had an issue with anyone. If you come across as enthusiastic and confident about your choices, people tend to be fine. Usually it sparks curiosity and conversation. It's never scared anyone away or made them upset. Raw is too much a part of my life to keep it a secret. Food is too much apart of society for people to not find out without going to ext

You're trying to make it into a savory smoothie or soup, so the best thing is to add ingredients to compliment them. First make sure you're using enough liquid like water or from cucumber. That alone should help the texture. Then using some type of fat helps makes it creamy-avocado is the best, olive oil is also good or nuts. You don't have to use fats, but it helps greatly. Spices, lemon juice a

I credit them for strengthening my immune system before and after raw. I likely will always take them on and off especially since the ones made with Saccharomyces Boulardii or Cerevisiae contain Vitamin B12 & other hard-to-get nutrients. Make sure you use a high quality, organic non-dairy one.

I was able to try out the Blendtec and while there were some occasions I liked it, mainly I didn't. There were many annoying things about it. I was dying for my Vitamix back and doubt I will ever switch permanently. My tech friend feels the Blendtec's computerized board is flimsy and feels the vitamix is more a sturdy, longer-lasting choice. He's used both of them. I don't know anyone with the bl

No one would be wasting their money on the Vitamix if it weren't the most amazing blender. You positively want the 5000 series with the variable knob, not just the high and low and definitely not digital. The latest ones have the BPA-free container and it's just a better container overall (I upgraded to it). As for something more expensive than that, it's really unnecessary unless you're a chef u

If one find this story sad it's about them not him. There was no sadness in his story or in anything he said or did, just what you create. Because someone is alone doesn't automatically make their life sad, lonely or unfortunate. We're taught mostly all the wrong things about how to live so it's great for anyone who figures out another way. That actually makes them better than us, not worse.

Whole Foods rarely has truly raw dried fruit or nuts so it's always a good idea to contact the supplier which varies at each of their stores. Make sure to ask the right questions because all companies will say yes if you just ask if they're raw. I always ask how the products are grown, processed, what temperatures they're dried at or the heat is, etc. It becomes tricky sometimes because some drie
