It sounds like a very good recipe. There's no rule that says you have to be 100% raw. Brendan Brazier a fantastic raw athlete eats the sort of food with cooked quinoa such as you have posted.

Yes because all that is saying is that you have a paranoia about fat.

I love gardening, birdwatching, spending time with my children, knitting, sitting by a log fire, camping by the sea and generally watching wildlife.

Powerlifer - do non raw vegans suffer that much from B12 deficiency? What about if they include daily amounts of marmite and B12 enriched foods such as margerine and some cereals. I was strictly vegan for 7 years - including a healthy pregnancy with a nine pound baby at the end of it) and I never suffered from B12 deficiency. I did ensure that as a family we had foods with B12 in them though

My partner makes rosehip wine. He has discovered that the small wild hips make a far better wine - the big fat garden rosehips from the likes of Rosa rugosa are far too pithy and don't seem to make good wine at all. This may translate into how they are too eat as well - i would say trial and error will let you know - but yes they are quite safe too eat although probably not terribly palatabl

If you are 100% raw then this is an important question. Brenda Davis and Vesanto Melina cover this area very thoroughly in their book 'Becoming Raw' The oils that you could include in your diet are flaxseed oil, hempseed oil or olive oil. But you need to take care to balance your ratio of omega 6 to omega 3 levels (between 2:1 and 4:1)

Powerlifer - I'm sure your information is wrong about coconut oil. Absolutely everything I have read on numerous sites says that coconut oil is hugely beneficial for the skin. i haven't put any links because if you google this subject pages of them are available - take your pick But my skin certainly got hugely dry when my thyroid became underactive - particularly on my lower legs. This is

I soak the almonds over night and then rinse them well. Then I spoon them with water into the juicer and bob's your uncle - gorgeous, yummy almond milk. (1 cup of almonds to 3 cups of water.) I have an Omega Vrt 350

Just want to say how wonderful this is. I have always avoided pomegranites because they are such a nuisance to deal with and I don't much like crunching up the pips and spitting them all out is a bit of a chore. Then I got my juicer - wow - just put the pips into the juicer and job done - gorgeous yumminess. Also - am now making my own almond milk in the juicer too and that is wonderf

No Powerlifer - they are absolutely fine with the black spots - that just means they are nice and ripe. You can get the little small ones which tend to have the spots but when ripe are sweet and delicious. Then you can get much larger ones - nearly the size of a tennis ball - they don't always have the spots and aren't always as sweet - although they can be. See - clear as mud - lol. It'

I too love the 70's music. My 14year old son is currently blasting the house out with Led Zepellin - which is just fine by me. He also like Thin Lizzy, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath and AC/DC. All of that is fine by me. I am currently in to Marvyn Gaye, The Eagles, Sandy Denny, Aswad, Burning Spear, King Tubby, Janis Joplin and Patti Smith. My partner always has a default setting of The Cla

My daughter is training in Bristol, UK at Circomedia. It's not just clowning They do trapeze, acro balance, physical theatre etc. Great fun. I was really looking for ideas of where she should go, sites she should see etc. There's nothing like first hand knowledge of a country. And not just Claifornia but anywhere warm and lovely - the big open spaces etc etc

Rawalice - the figs we get in England are from Europe not the middle east. I knew someone who went to live in spain and they would pick pounds and pounds of figs off their trees everyday. I am planting a fig this spring against the sunny, front of my house.

Oh I'm sure she'll do it alone - you meet far more people that way and can please yourself about where to go and when etc. My son did some wwoofing in New Zealand - had a great time on the farms and met some great people. It's a fabulous way for kids (and older folk of course ) to travel, work and see the world.

Depends on the quality of both for me. Nothing beats a fresh fig off the tree - divine food. Some dried dates are revolting, nasty little hard bullets with peeling hard skin but medjool are delicious - like Coco i can only manage one or two at most of those. To be honest I prefer dried unsulphered apricots to both dried figs and dried dates. Rab - I haven't eaten enough of either in one h

My daughter is considering her options. she is finishing a 2year course at circus school this summer and is wondering what to do afterwards. She wants to travel and loves the thought of California. She loves a raw vegan lifestyle - although doesn't follow it 100%. she is an amazing singer and very good at art too. So far she has thought of woofing - that would seem like a good idea - I

Buckwheat greens should be avoided Coco as the mature shoots with green leaves contain a toxic compound called fagopyrin and should generally be minimised or avoided in the diet (Becoming Raw - Davis and Melina pages 225,226) They go on to flag up warnings about legumes too (trypsin inhibitors); one of the worst offenders being chickpeas. But you have this book Paul and have no doubt drawn

coco said : I have a tendency to throw in the towel with the parts of things that I find difficult or unpleasant even if there are other aspects I do enjoy and want the experience of. I've never put a lot of stock in earning bits of paper to define who I am and what I know and do but in retrospect I feel that if I had ridden out the worst of it and finished some things I'd have gained so muc

I cannot add much to this discussionas I do not like any sprouts at all. I cannot digest them and think they all taste fairly horrid so I never eat them. I am hoping that my diet is perfectly adequate without them. I shall watch the responses with interest however.

Check out my posting on the other matters not health related board. I'm saying this here because I don't know how many people go to the other board and it is health related in a way because Sam is very high raw - a real inspiration. I think she was in California when this video was shot.

This is my friend Samantha - it's a shame the video image isn't very good because how she isolates individual muscles in her abdomen and moves them just beggars belief. Anyway the interesting thing is that she is very high raw - and very talented
