we all have our own unique ways of transitioning, and of embracing the raw lifestyle, and for me, it seems that i have to keep reminding myself of how much better i feel when i eat fresh, raw, living foods. it started with a visit from my mother (which always ruffles my feathers a bit). we went out to lunch where i decided it would be a good idea to supplement my really good, and quite larg

everytime this thread goes back to the top, i start feeling nostalgic about coffee again. i have had a love-hate relationship with it for many years. i loved it, and it definitely did not love me. i've been off of it for 2 months now, except for a couple of times that i had just a few sips....just enough to remind me how awful it makes me feel after the initial rush is gone. ohhhh....what a drug

i like smoothies, and they like me. i digest and eliminate them just fine. i make them a very moderate size, basically using the amount of fruit i would be able to easily eat without blending. i have them maybe 3 or 4 times a week and find them to offer a nice variety to my diet. i like that variety right now, especially since i'm just about 2 months raw almost and need to find ways to stay excit

i just made these and they are yummy. i blended fresh corn, jalepeno, flax meal and a little salt in the fp, and then after i spread it on the teflex, i put a layer of the cheeze mixture from the "cheezy kale chips" recipe. they don't taste like storebought sad chips, but they are really good.

for me, mangos are such a fabulous, delicious fruit, that i want to make sure i get all of it. that's why i don't juice them. i don't want any part of it ending up in the "waste" basket of the juicer. i don't eat the peel, but get every last morsel from the skin and pit.

i don't do anything special at all. i just run them under the water and give them a good rinse. they're organic, so that's good enough for me.

i asked this question earlier, and didn't get much respose, so here goes again: what's the deal with grains and legumes? why do some of you guys not eat that stuff sprouted? i'm new to this and wonder what the reasons are. any thoughts?

my guess is that you need the digestive enzymes in your saliva to start working on all of that garlic. even when drinking straight juice, it's good to "chew" it a little and let it mix with the saliva before swallowing. sometimes i get a stomache ache after eating if i have eaten too fast, and the food didn't get a chance to begin it's digestion in my mouth first.

what helps me is to have support. i'm the only raw person in my family, and don't know anyone else in my community who is. so i say, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to all of you! i would also like to put it out there... if anyone would like a "transition buddy," you can send me a private message and we can support each other as we go along.

well, i'm limited to what i can find in the local produce market, which is the sweet variety, and not my preference. this is why i have spiced them up with fresh spicy salsa. how nice you have your own field corn to use.

i'm now one month raw and going strong! yay! i'm still transitioning away from some of my favorite comfort foods, and came upon a recipe for essene bread made from sprouted wheat berries, and falafels with sprouted garbonzos. while most of my diet is just plain and simple fruits and vegetables, i'm liking the variety i can get with some of these recipes i'm finding.... i'm wondering, what

i'm on a roll.... i came up with another idea that is inpiring me.... transitioning for me is the most challenging when i miss crunchy chips. i have the best tasting spicy salsa flavored corn chips in the dehydrator right now. i hope they come out tasting as good as the batter did....yum! if anyone wants the recipe, let me know- they're super easy.
