I've been giving it to my dogs in Dr. Pitcarin's healthy powder. It helps the texture of their bowel movements.

Thanks, powerlifer, but I haven't even had a nail on my big toe for over a year. It falls off itself when it starts to grow back. So, I don't think cutting the nail back is going to help.

Honestly, I don't think any of this stuff works on serious cases. I've tried tea tree oil, soaking in salts, vapo-rub, over the counter anti-fungals and prescription drugs. Only prescription worked, but I guess I didn't take it long enough or I forgot a few doses because it came right back. I've been afflicted for over 20 years on one foot (it never spread to the other).

Mine are usually about 40 oz when blended, about 500 calories. These days I'm using 4 or 5 servings of fruit, plus greens, plus water.

Bananawho, both of the drinks I mentioned are Cafix. They just have a couple of different forms. I tried Teeccino and it's probably pretty good if you were used to drinking coffee flavored drinks like lattes and cappuccinos, but I don't think it's good for the purist who likes their coffee straight up the way I did. Carob is usually the first ingredient of the Teccino products, so it's a sweete

Did you fill up the bin and then just leave it without continuing to add fresh material? If so, it's probably just settling. We always just keep filling our bins continuously, so the settling has been good because it means more room for more material. But, this study on vermicomposting goes into how much settling there is. winding up with only 10% compost by volume is normal.

Wow. I never realized people had addictions that strong. My experience seems to be rather different from other people's. My mother started me on coffee when I was 4 because she read that caffeine stunts your growth, so she thought it would help keep me shorter. No such luck. To make a long story short, I quit at school age and I started drinking it again in the evenings in high school b

Sounds like fun, BW. My grandparents had a plot when I was little. It was surprising how much can be grown in such a small space.

I'm sorry you all are thinking of leaving. A break can do wonders to re-energize and refocus, but I do hope everyone who leaves comes back. I get so much from all of the exchanges.

Welcome back to the US (and Virginia?)! Glad you made it OK and are over your jetlag. All that fruit left on your doorstep sounds like a great surprise.

I think the concept of not being phoney is an impossible ideal. I think people who insist they're just keepin' it real are the fakest of all. We all have to measure self against society and surroundings otherwise we are ungrounded in reality. What's real about that? I don't think responding to the environment makes anyone less 'real'. Sometimes the need to save face or keep peace or extri

I'm also on the nature side of the nature vs. nurture debate. We're given a very powerful set of limitations in our genes. This is an intentionally overdone way of looking at it, but none of us grow into puppies or fig trees no matter how hard we try. People seem very accepting that some factors like height are due to genetics, but not others like weight. We can all train to run faster o

I don't know if there are studies of the 80-10-10 that you seem to be describing, but there are limited studies on raw, vegan diets. I'm not sure what you are looking for, but this list may help you get started looking:

We're not all at the same point in our journey toward health and we're not all even on the same journey. Even after reading your explanation, I don't see a reason to constrict everyone else to your preferred path. It may be that some of us need to have the benefit of experiences that you admit to already having to come to the same conclusions.

Do you drink your water heated? I have been this winter. It seems to help me. So does eating dry or semi-dry fruit like dates and dried apricots. They work better for me than fatty foods. Greens make very cold and need to pee more.

Smell like what? I reek of coconut after using the oil. My dogs try to pin me down and lick me all over. I have to practically beat them off.

Good for John for talking about a common concern that some are too shy to ask about. I didn't see any point to pulling his pants down unless he was going to give the full demo, but whatever. Speaking of poo....how often do you all go?

I have no idea what this is about, but keep on truckin', Curator. I'm sorry that your situation seems to be the source of grief for you, but you've certainly earned my respect and I don't think you need to change for anyone, even yourself. We all have something about us that makes us question ourselves. We're all fighting internal battles. And no matter how together we seem from the outsi

According to Wiki, Phase II trials were completed since this video and some doctors are already using this DCA off-label for cancer treatment, but you might have to leave the States to find them. The state of health care in the US is miserable, but why aren't others picking up on it, particularly those countries with public health care? It's in the interest of their own welfare and $.70 a da

Never. You're never too old. I'm 6'0" tall and half my shoes are flats. I'm comfortable with me wearing heels, but not everyone around me always is. Those shoes are very cute (especially the first pair), but they don't look like they'd stand up to the kind of beatings my shoes take.

Nope, people do bad things without the influence of drugs, but the precedence seems to be that people in the past have plowed into cyclists when stoned.

No doubt they were feeling entitled to the right of way, which they may have actually had since many cities require permits and police escorts for this type of activity. But, it's very likely that there were drugged, which facilitates turning stupid thoughts into stupid actions.

When I searched for more news of this, I didn't find any, but there were several cases of this happening in the past couple of years, like this: (also a highly disturbing image) They all seem to involve drugs - alcohol, pot, etc.
