Thanks EA . . I appreciate your support! I passed out last night reading "Vegan Freak - Being Vegan in a Non-Vegan World." Although not a 'raw' book, it does have some good advice. I was up early this morning (5:15 am). . . good thing I'm a morning person. I absolutely love sitting on my steps in the morning and watching the world come alive. Yesterday I had some grapes, tw

Time for me to resurrect my diary. Wow, it's been over a year since I posted in it and I didn't do much with it the first go around. But I've always been lurking around. I enjoy reading the diaries of others. I find they inspire me. Thank you. Hopefully documenting my days will help me in my journey. I don't have a lot of support in my life for this way of eating and I find that this boa

I was fond of putting ketchup in my Lipton's chicken noodle soup. When I was growing up my father always salted his watermelon before he ate it and so us kids did too. . . . I was shocked when I found out that not everyone did this. My brother once silenced a whole table when out at a banquet doing this.

I really liked Fight Club. . . every time I see it, it becomes more of a comedy. I watch The Elephant Man when I need a cry. I watch The Emperor's New Groove when I want to laugh. I've always liked Labyrinth. . . I think I know the words to every song and can recite most of the movie when I watch it. I guess I've seen it a lot.

Pineapple isn't my friend anymore. It makes my tongue raw and that's a real shame as I love it. Sounds yummy though.

I don't think you NEED any of these gadgets. . . Although I do enjoy having a blender and a dehydrator. It would be hard to have a green smoothie without the use of a blender. I just make do with a department-store bought blender. It seems to work fine. I'm not willing to shell out lots of money for a VitaMix. I use my dehydrator mainly for preparing food for hiking and camping.

I'm gearing up for a go at the master cleanse. I have both celtic sea salt and himalayan crystal salt in the house. I'm not decided on which salt to use for the salt water flush. Any thoughts or advice? Please and thank you.

This is a subject that I'm pretty passionate about. I think the bottom line is just like healthy people, there's no money to be made in healthy cats. Dry food is cheap and convenient and we end up at the vets. I have 3 cats. One of them, the oldest (He'll be 18 in October) had been packing on the pounds since about his age of 8. My other two are both 9 years old. I started feeding the

I was diagnosed with psoriatic arthrits in October 2004. After being on Ibuprofen and Naproxen (doctors orders) for a few months, I stopped. They didn't help me with the pain very much and I found they were doing a number on my stomach. I did a lot of research and found a lot of scary info on pain meds. Eating more raw foods, cleaning up my diet in general and adding a few supplements have do

This morning the 'cleansing' portion of the program showed itself. I must have run upstairs to use the bathroom half a dozen times. Good exercise. My lower back, hands and feet were a little stiff and sore this morning. They haven't been sore in a long while. It didn't last more than half an hour. I was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis in October of 2004. That diagnosis was the push I

Yes, it is a corny title, but it was the best I could come up with. I should have started this diary yesterday, that was when I started the cleanse. But you see, there was this hockey game on (that ended badly) and hence a warm tub to ease the pain of losing was just the ticket. I've been on a mission to regain my health over the past year and a half. I have slowly been adding more and mo

I was wondering if anyone knew the best method for getting a pomegranate to give up its juice. . . Deeds gave me some wonderful advice - chew thoroughly. And granted, its smart advice and works nicely solo but preparing it for my guests in that way would probably not go over well with them. I have read that freezing the seeds makes them give up their juice readily. I suppose a person woul

That would work, but alas, I don't think the dinner guests would be impressed with how the pomegranate juice ended up in their glasses. And I think it may be a little time consuming as well.

I've stopped buying date rolls. Dates rolled in shredded coconut with a lovely little raw almond pressed into the middle of them. Yum. I have no self control if I am within a 20 foot radius of the things. Don't even get me started on halvah. . . .

The only juicer I have ever used is a Breville. Last year I purchased a single speed model and really liked it. This year I found a two speed and purchased that one. I took the single speed juicer to work as I work in an environment that allows me to do that type of thing. I prefer the two speed to the one speed. I have never had any problems with them. I figure if all a person wants to do
