Day 11 Yoga was not as hellish as last week. Surprisingly, I am more flexible already. I actually kind of enjoyed it. Blended oranges, bananas blended with raspberries, bananas blended with blueberries, veggie juice (carrot, beet, celery), salad (romaine, cabbage, carrot), hemp seeds. Was a very good day. Things are coming up in the garden - Spring rocks!

Sapphire, I think that if it were the same thing day in and day out I would have to struggle to stick with it. Thanks for the positivity! Day 10 - March 19, 2010 Shoulders and Arms, oh yes and Abs. Love it, love it, love it. Makes a Friday all the more sweeter. I worked hard and this was confirmed the next morning - not super sore, but the body has some repairs to make. Blended o

Day 9 Jump training - I find it really challenging and really fun. You sweat from every pore of your being. I'm pretty sure my knees were sweating. Bananas, blended oranges, steamed veggies for lunch (broccoli, cauliflower and carrot), salad for supper. Not really hungry today. Slept like crap last night. Perhaps a nice hot bath tonight, just because. Tomorrow is my favorite. . . wh

Ah, not much of a reality show - not enough gratuitous violence or sporadic nudity. I could throw in some dysfunctional family system stuff though. . . . Day 8 Struggling with push-ups, struggling with pull-ups. I am much better at throwing the weights around. Patience, patience, patience. Oranges blended with grapefruit, bananas, bananas blended with berries, apples, salad greens.

Day 7 - March 16, 2010 Bend and stretch and reach and breathe and breathe and breathe. Ah. . . . . . sweet. Oranges, blended, Bananas (not blended), Oranges blended with mango, Bananas blended with raspberries. Carrot, cucumber, romaine juice. Salad. Hemp seeds. There. One week down, twelve more weeks to go. Overall, none too shabby.

Day 6 - March 15, 2010 - The Ides of March, Et tu, Brutus? Punch, kick, elbow, smash, chop, whack, wham-o. That was fun. Weird warm up though. Oranges, bananas and raspberries, rinse and repeat. Salad. I feel more physically aware of my body - not that I am sore - just more aware of my muscles doing their thing as I move.

Heya Sapphire! Well, to be honest, a specific goal that I have is just to get through it; that in itself would be fantastic. Nothing getting in the way - no wimping out. And sure, I want to look like one hot tomato (heated naturally in the sun, of course). I have the desire to be able to do a proper, unassisted pull-up - But, for now, just sticking with it, keeping my commitment to myself

Day 5 Back and Legs and Abs Crazy leg stuff. Pull ups are really hard for me - I'm looking forward to improving. More oranges and more oranges and more oranges - some blended with mixed berries. A few bananas. Not much of an appetite today. But what I did have tasted stupendous. I am thankful for the time change. Now I won't feel like I work a million hours a day - I like getting ho

Day 4 - March 13, 2010 Yoga from hell. Wow. I have not done a lot of yoga before, this was challenging. Long work out too - over 1 1/2 hours. The theme of oranges continues. Banana issue seems to be just with the one batch - current bananas are awesome. Salad for supper. Feeling pretty good - surprisingly not sore. Must be that blended orange recovery drink!

Day 3 - Friday March 12, 2010 Shoulders and arms, my fave. Worked pretty hard today. Very enjoyable. Oranges and oranges and oranges. Blended bananas and spinach. Lots! Spring mix, a couple of apples. I feel good. Somewhat elated actually. Not a lot of soreness. - I must rant a bit - Spring is coming - yah! This means it is getting warmer. Friday was warm. So, with warmth com

Day 2 Jumping, jumping and jumping some more - wow. I cannot remember the last time I sweated so much. Fun though. Tons of oranges today - maybe 12. Blended. Some with raspberries, others just plain. Haven't lost my taste for them yet, so I'll go with it. Apples (3), spring mix (about 200 grams). Not enough calories yet, I'll eat more tonight. Having issues with bananas lately - w

And so it begins. . . Day 1 of "extreme home fitness" LOL! Woke up and drank three cups of warm water with a squeeze of lemon (this is done every morning, work out or not). Drank three more cups during the work out. And the workout. . . well, not too bad. I am not able to do many push ups without having to drop to my knees to complete the set. And as for pull ups - Ha!

Yup, still on board. Looking forward to it . . . somewhat excited and apprehensive about it - you'd think I was going on a blind date or something. And yes, no "diet" thingy for me either. Although I would imagine my food intake will increase with the extra activity in addition to the activity I already do. Gotta stock up on them bananas!

Holy crap! That's a lot of money to save a bunch of crocuses that cost $2.00 originally. Well, if the mint doesn't work, I guess I can be happy with providing a yummy treat for my outside pets.

I guess it depends on what you are going to be using it for. If you are going to be making nut butters and such, I'm sure the variable speed would be of use. I've only blended fruit in the old one at work, which is variable speed, but I've only ever used the high setting. So, for me, I'm thinking the 4500 would be good enough, since it does have low and high. Besides, where I'm going to purc

Hmmmmm. . . . I don't know what glass bells are. I don't quite follow what you mean Tamukha. It's probably as plain as day though. LOL! I'll try some mint, Jodi. The squirrels aren't digging up the bulbs per se, just eating the shoots and buds when they appear. I thought I saw a crocus starting to appear, but alas, I was mistaken. But I do know that spring is upon us, as the solar la

I was lucky enough to pick it up for $100 CDN at a store. I'm an exercise dvd junkie. I like a lot of variety. Jillian Michaels' dvds are quite enjoyable - I was able to pick those up for $8 each. Rodney Yee rocks for yoga.

I too scoff at the price of these machines but. . . . The boss' wife bought an ancient Vita-Mix off of an acquaintance and brought it into work. I had put off using it because the little voice in my head said "Don't use it, you'll love it and want one." Well, I first used it a couple of months ago - the voice was correct. I was using a Black and Decker blender (cheap) at work

I bought one once - It cost a pretty penny, closer to three hundred pennies. Mine was white inside - I've seen them dark pink inside as well. I wasn't impressed. Didn't really taste like anything. I would imagine they would taste better picked ripe and enjoyed locally - wherever that is. For now, I'll save my pennies. I'd throw the other half in a smoothie.

Poetic, no? But alas, I would very much love to enjoy mine this year. Years past the squirrels and birds have gotten to them just as they are coming out of the ground and eaten the buds. Any ideas to keep them safe this season?

Interesting. . . For me, I've had to "adjust" what works for me to meditate. Sensory deprivation for me is having only ONE thing to hear and ONE thing to smell. I have had poor eye sight since the get go - hence, my hearing and sense of smell are heightened. I tried meditating by just closing my eyes - didn't work too well - my sense of smell and hearing go nutbars. I can hea

Okay. . . The rest of 2008 is a blur, so let’s start with 2009. . . I know that I was attracted to veggie juice in the spring. Summer was awesome. I patiently awaited cherry season and low and behold it did come! I ate copious amounts of cherries whilst they were around. And the season was longer than usual. Best cherries I had were acquired in Outlook, Saskatchewan – wtf? After

Hey Jodi! Did you actually start P90X or have you been like me and just admiring the pretty box it comes in? I read the nutrition guide - ha ha - funny - although I was impressed that it did have a vegetarian option. Certainly far from optimal - but nonetheless was pleasantly surprised that it had that option. One serving of fruit per day? What the hell? I'd have a week's allotment of f
