JoeSee - I was vegetarian, and still had tons of constipation issues, so don't worry....it's not just the "revenge from animals" that is causing problems for you. However, keep in mind that it takes your body an extremely long time to digest meat, and it's really just not good for you, the environment or the animals. Do what you think is best. Pasta caused problems for me, but Ezeki

I used to have some major issues with this. I would be lucky to go once or twice a week, and nothing helped. The only thing that finally cured this was cutting out ALL cooked grains, breads, etc. Since I went raw, I go 2-3 times per day. I feel so much better! So, my advice, cut out the grains and breads and see what happens.

I have a question about sprouts.....how can I figure out how much protein there is after sprouting the beans/lentils, etc? Is it still a good amount of protein?

Mike and Lori - congrats to you for quitting smoking and for wanting to eat healthier! Going vegetarian is quite an adjustment, but once you do it, you will feel so much better. Just take it slow....just add more fruits and veggies to your diet and you will immediately start to feel better!

Great pictures! I think I saw that your camera is a Nikon D70? That's what my husband has and he loves it! He takes some amazing pictures with it and is starting his own photography business. Your pictures from Switzerland really make me want to be there. I will see if I can get signed up for a Flickr account and put some of our pictures up there. They are mostly of my daughter.

The dinner me and my friend had there was amazing! I was a bit worried because it was a Friday night, and there were only two other tables there, but we gave it a try anyways and we were so glad that we did. It was absoultely delicious!! The guacamole was so good. And the little ravioli's were so flavorful and wonderful. My best friend is not vegan, nor has she tried any raw food dishes, but

So how long did all of that food last? Most of it does look very "heavy". Not sure if I could eat all of that before it went bad. So do you think it was worth the money?

So I have been putting 1 tsp of maca root powder into my breakfast smoothies, and it is giving me some terribly nasty gas! Anyone else experience this with maca root? And I know it's the maca root, because on the days that I don't use it, I am fine. Is this normal? Because I think I might kill my husband soon with my gassiness! It's toxic!

I would go back to the way I was before raw.....lots of brown rice, beans, grains, nuts, raw dairy (still do that) and as much fresh/raw organic fruits and veggies. And definitely no soy. I used to eat it all the time and it really screwed me up for a while.

My husband just found a persimmon tree out by us when he was hiking the other day! It was in the middle of nowhere. So he picked a bunch of them for me and brought them home. They are so good. What's a sopadilla? Never heard of those before. Is it the same as a "sopapilla"?? Just teasing.

I make my own dressing and it is soooooo good: tahini, garlic clove, lemon juice, nama shoyu, cayenne pepper, olive oil, a little water, and apple cider vinegar. It's hard for me to give measurments since I don't measure, but it's somehting like this: 1 cup raw tahini juice from one lemon 1/2 - 3/4 cup nama shoyu 1 garlic clove splash of apple cider vinegar (maybe a little more - just

I have two favorites: Green Soup - juice of a lemon, a big handful of greens (spinach, kale, collards, parsley, etc), red bell pepper, and one small avocado blended in my Vitamix until smooth. Collard Wraps - to make the "sauce", put 1 cup of raw sunflower seeds into food processor with 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice and 1/2 cup Nama Shoyu. Spread onto a collard wrap and add cut up

Hi Alive! My husband has been making comments like "You mean to tell me that a $30 blender from WalMart won't belnd up our greens like this?" He is full of doubt! LOL. So I told him to go buy a blender from WalMart and give it a try. I am just waiting for him to come home with one now!
