alive, I also had serious issues after eating too much soy. I am glad I figured it out and cut it out of my diet completely - and out of my daughters diet! Yikes.

Pantryraider - I just got a new Vitamix belnder and then sold my juicer. My blender is the best thing ever! It blends all of my greens right into a liquid! Last night, after we got home form working out, I made us a smoothie with a young coconut (plus the coconut water), an entire half of a pineapple (core and all) and some bananas. It was SO good! Especially after a realy tough workout.

jadedshade, I think it is funny that people say to you "or are you still off dairy". Like they are waiting for your little "fad" to come to an end! LOL! People that are not on this diet say the funniest things to those of us that are! One of the girls at my office said to me the other day "Wow, are you going to eat ALL of those strawberries?? Sheesh!" And as she

Oh trust me, there are plenty of raw things to eat at 80% raw!! ! And lots of yummy things, I might add. Like David said, once you add more and more raw food to your diet, your body becomes very sensitive to unhealthy food! I have experienced that myself a few times! Just take it slow and do what you can. The mroe raw food you eat, the better you feel, and then you will just keeping adding

green smoothies, for sure! I just bought a Vitamix blender and I love blending my greens with some fruit now. When you juice, I think you lose all the fiber, and there is just so much "waste". I hated throwing away all those veggie scraps. Actually, we didn't throw them away, we used them for our compost. But still, it seemed like a big waste to me.

So far today: Kefir smoothie made with strawberries, bananas, maca root powder and spirulina. Two bananas for snack. Now I am eating a huge green salad made with red leaf lettuce, collard greens and romaine, with tomatoes, cucumbers, sprouted flax seeds, unhulled sesame seeds, wheat germ and the dressing that I made for it. That's it so far for me!

Demogirl - most of your questions have already been answered, but as for your beets, you can make beet soup out of them. Do you have a food processor? One of my favorite recipes is a sweet beet soup (from Shazzie.com): 1 beetroot 3 strawberries 1 tomato 2 cups of water 2 spring onions Throw all of these ingredients into a food processor fitted with the S blade and chop up in there, th

I have to contribute most of my healthy eating to Yoga. I was always a pretty healthy person - I have never had any health issues. When I started doing Yoga, I became a vegetarian. I ate lots of grains, cooked veggies and fruit. A while back, maybe last year sometime, I heard some famous actress (can't remember who it was) on the radio talking about how she eats only raw foods, and then I loo

My daughter loves to snack on raw fruits and veggies and I know it is because that is how my husband and I eat. Her favorite snack is raw red peppers and cucumbers! I can't believe people cook those veggies either. Kids will absolutely follow what their parents eat.

It is the hachiya type. I ate one a few minutes ago and it was delicious!! The skin wasn't tough at all, so I ate it. Yum! I have never had one before. That was tasty.

I didn't know there was such a thing as "too many tomatoes". I LOVE them! Especially the heirloom ones from our garden.

Great, thanks. I thought those sheets were only for the Excalibur dehydrator, and that's not the kind I have, so I will try wax paper and see what happens. Thanks for your reply.

I posted this in the recipes forum, but have not received any responses and I need a quick answer! A friend of mine gave me their dehydrator that they never used, and some recipes that I found mention putting the item on the teflex sheet in the dehydrator. The dehydrator that I got does not have those sheets. Do I really NEED them? Can I just use wax paper? I have never used a dehydrator be

Are they really necessary when using your dehydrator? Couldn't I just use wax paper?? I inherited a dehydrator, and it does not have the teflex sheets, so I was wondering if I had to buy them or if wax paper will work. Thanks! Kim

This might be a silly question, but do you have to eat the dark leafy greens AND the citrus fruit right at the same time in order for the absorption thing to work? Or can they be eaten a few hours apart?? Thanks!

It will be VERY difficult to get the amount of calories needed on a daily basis from JUST veggies. Personally, I think it is good to have fruits and veggies, along with nuts/seeds in your diet.

When I was eating cooked food, I drank at 1 to 1 1/2 gallons of water each day. Now, I probably drink half that amount, and I am quite sure it is because I eat mostly fruits and veggies. I also drink herbal tea throughout the day. We have an Aquasana water filter attached to our kitchen sink for our drinking water.
