Dandelion is so great. I love just wandering around the edges of the forest and finding them wild and then bringing in a big bundle for salad. Straight from nature... food doesn't get any better. They are sort of bitter though. I also don't think I could drink the straight juice or eat a salad composed entirely of their greens. If you've never juice fasted or eaten very healthy before it m

I've always thought about this too. I like them both raw and cooked but probably use them more raw from making stuff like salsa, tomato sauce for raw pasta, etc. Something I've always thought about too... our bodies are quite warm. Are they warm enough to break down some of those nutrients during digestion?

Angel that is amazing. I am mosquito food. There could be a group of soft skinned 5 year old kids hovering nearby and I swear, every mozzie within a 10 mile radius will ignore them and flock right to me. I've always had this problem, long before eating healthy, even as a cigarette smoker (I always hoped the nasty smoke would repel them). Now that I'm cleaner and healthier the problem remains.

That was my first "raw" forum. It felt a little too extreme for me. They are nice though, I go there to talk about fasting with them whenever I do a cleanse since they have a fasting-specific forum.

Hey guys! I've been wondering for WEEKS now what happened to this place? I joined the "give it to me raw" forum and saw that some of you were over there as well but I prefer the simple layout of this forum way better (I have a kinda crap computer and give it to me raw seems to make it crash for some reason). Yayyy! I missed it so much and am so happy it's back now.

Yeah same here. I used to eat rice with everything thinking it was healthy. But it's so acidic. The first thing I did to attempt to be more raw was exchange all of the rice for raw baby greens. So I'd have a cooked stir fry over greens instead of rice, or a curry, or whatever. It made such a difference and made me want to be even more raw.

I personally don't buy the "you die when you die" stuff... I think lifestyle absolutely has an impact. Why wouldn't it?

Yeah, they really are... I really feel bad for those people... I thought gluten awareness was becoming pretty mainstream but apparently not... what's really sad is a number of those posters are probably having gluten reactions (and god knows what else from what they are eating) and don't even know it.

Yeah, personally I wouldn't count on "losing my hunger" just because that's what has happened for some. What I would do is have my smoothie, then snack on a banana or a few dates between breakfast and lunch. I usually start my day with a huge smoothie but that is rarely all I have.

I just really hate any form of debate. I'm a very sensitive soul and can't handle the intensity of it, honestly. No offense intended toward you, I didn't mean to assume like that.

"I watch a disingenuous video by durianrider about how meat eating makes you fat (showing fat guys cooking flesh), and then listen to a paleo subscriber boasting about how excessive fruit will make your skin crawl over to another dimension, or some such wackiness. Both end up losing credibility, as I know enough to know neither is true." Jimtoo, I wish you wouldn't call your mind war

A thought on the sensitivity issue... food allergies could be at play. I don't know if being 100% raw would make a person more sensitive to ALL cooked food in general (not saying it doesn't for you guys, just that I don't know the science behind it) but I do know that when a person has food sensitivities to things like gluten or soy, and they go off them and heal for a little bit, usually they be

It's also possible that he has celiac disease. Gluten is addictive especially to those with an intolerance (for whatever reason)... so the binging on pizza (gluten) and no weight gain is worrysome... Before I got off gluten and began my healing journey I was very underweight and constantly overeating and people were always thinking that I must be bulimic or something...

Oh yeah, cystic acne here too... although I now think of it more as skin boils than acne, it was so severe, but I didn't know what to call it other than acne at the time, since it was on my face. Doctors have absolutely no idea about anything. I feel sorry for the few good ones because they must feel bad getting lumped in with the pathetically uninformed.

Well, gluten free goes far beyond just not eating bread or pizza... it means you must eat almost no processed foods or eat out at restaurants (most) because almost all of it contains traces of gluten. So I hope they are saying he is actually gluten free and not just avoiding bread, otherwise he might have problems down the line.

I've always wondered about this as well. My intuition tells me to take as few supplements as possible, so that's what I do. I've always felt that multivitamins and many other things are pretty much crap invented and marketed as healthy in the interest of making money, just like most "health" foods you see advertised on TV which are actually soy filled processed death. The way I view it,

My opinions wouldn't be respectful to the forum so I won't share them, but all I will say is I am not a vegan (although I eat raw vegan more meals than not, and love it, so that's why I post here) so that should answer your question on what I think about the validity of animal foods. I wish there was a forum for exactly the way I eat, so I could speak freely without offending anyone. But unfor
