I stopped ants coming too close to the back door yesterday by pouring syrup a foot near their nest in the opposite direction. They completely cleared the doorstep, haven't seen them on there since. Just in time too- I always get the blame for ants coming in because I can be a messy bugger in the kitchen!

I had this too! I ended up having to move the agave to a really high shelf and remember to wash the outside with a wet towel. The stuff is so thin and runny, you can even tell/see where it leaves sticky patches. In fact, on the shelf it was originally there are sticky hard patches I can't wash off! Maybe it's worth putting it in some sort of bag?

When I use strawbs in smoothies I find I have to add loads to add even a slight sweet taste next to dark greens. Lettuce like romaine can save a too-dark-green smoothie though

I'm a bit of a dimwit on this matter but saw a program about a sportman who got this. The narrator explained that it occurs when there is too much water in the body, and not enough sodium.

Thanks for the tip Just a quick question- after the SWF, how much time should I leave between doing it and getting ready to leave for work? I've never done one before, and don't want to enter a potentially embarrassing situation on the bus where I have to grab my belly and roar "Where's the toilet!! It's an emergency!"

Thanks for the great replies, all It's funny, I was tempted to post these questions on another site that had a dedicated MC board, but the hostility there put me off. Big cheer for this lovely friendly board! You guys are right, adding/taking away stuff from the master cleanse is deviating away from it, and I guess if I'm going to do it, I should do it properly. I'll start off normal, but if

Hello all! I'm considering doing the master cleanse with a few tweaks- 1) I don't want to do any salt water flushes 2) I'd like to be also drinking some fresh juices (wheatgrass, other green stuff) alongside the lemon drink Are there any valid reasons why I shouldn't omit the swfs and why I shouldn't add wheatgrass juice? The reason I'd like to do a master cleanse is because I've heard go

LOL, aw thank you! :-) Well, it's very rainy in the UK, which helps :-) I'd always thought I'd been completely hopeless at gardening until I discovered... organic seaweed extract! It saved the life of my pomolo, made my cucumbers all excitable (hee hee!) and nursed my blueberry back to health. It totally made a difference, I might even drink the stuff (LOL, actually no, I don't want to start g

Near the end of my raw phase, my bowel movements were very loose- I don't think I was getting enough fibre and I think the hummus I was eating kept upsetting it. Then, I got a major belly upset from drinking bad water, and the less raw I was, the better I got... but it never went away until I went high fruit for a few days- eating masses of blueberries- and bam, problem fixed, with the most satis

I wouldn't class wheatgrass in the same group as stuff like cacao, corn powder, maca etc. It's just fresh stuff that gets juiced. Also, it's cheap :-) I felt pretty good when I was drinking it. It has a nice clean taste. Also, isn't it one of the main juices cited by people who have have recovered from illness?

I use Naturacare and other unbleached towels (when I can find them). I've never liked the idea of tampons, but can appreciate why people use them. I own a Mooncup (like a Keeper) but I wasn't sure if I was using it properly so gave up in the end! Like Coco said, avoid sponges!

Does anyone here ever eat the peel of their citrus fruits? Also, is there anything good in the peel? In general, I compost them, but thinking about it, maybe the peel could be grated and used as toppings for raw fruits etc?

I read the original thread where DZM first reported the results (incl. the very interesting B12 result)- and was disappointed that Dr Clement didn't point out the otherwise excellent results as opposed to making the 2 deficiencies sound worse than what they were? Why is it I read everywhere that fruitarians/raw foodists are so prone to vitamin D defiency? Is it because they're considered more

Hi rawfrancois, as much as I love cucumber, according to fitday.com I'd have to eat 40 large cucumbers to get over 1300 calories. I've also gone off avocados (I know, I've become very fussy!). I can't afford to even sustain a 10-cucumber per day habit. There's a fruit stall near when I work so I'm going to start raiding that. It's not organic, but the range is very good! Thanks again

Thanks so much for the support and ideas, everyone. I think I will add more fruit into my diet to see how I hold up. I still adore fruit, and (perhaps surprisingly) sprouts! I wont be eating tomatoes and celery again for a while though! It's not like I'm craving cooked food, it's more that I'm hungry and sick/bored/unfulfilled by the salads. I don't believe that all cooked food is poison so I

Hi Dee! I went to see the dentist a short while ago and although the hygienist did a great job on my teeth, my gums felt a bit brutalised afterwards, like they'd cleaned them with a pickaxe! Whenever my teeth feel a bit sensitive, oil pulling usually does a good job. I don't know why it works, but it does

Just lately I have been really going off raw dinners. A few days ago I had a big salad and literally had to force it down because I had gone off the taste. Since then, the thought of another salad makes me want to throw up! My dinner salads are pretty big and varied- tomatoes, radishes, bell pepper, olives, cucumbers, avos, greens, carrots, celery sometimes with nuts and seeds. Sometimes they'

:-) Sometimes I feel embarassed about it in front of my boyfriend, who's used to me trying to be a badass! I wonder if the sensitivity is also there because a lot of raw food websites do have a loving community, and maybe some of that 'live and let live' attitude rubs off?
