Why do you want to make the detox come faster? Why not let your body go at the pace it chooses (it knows best!).

Two possible reasons:
1) There maybe more mustard greens boiled up to make the same weight as the raw greens (so cooking is concentrating the nutrients).
2) Some nutrients do become more available when cooked (according to science) but that doesn't necessarily make them better, what do you want, more damaged nutrients or the original quality raw nutrients?

Would this be feeding small animals a diet which is not their natural diet (and whose usual food is nothing like human food)?

664. Re: What is DHEA?
Woops, just read the other thread and understand why you've asked this. I really think that the original post mentioning DHEA was a spelling mistake and that no one is suggesting we take DHEA.

If by 'fruitarian' you mean exclusivly fruits, then I think that is not a good diet. As is being discussed in another thread, green leaves are an essential part of a healthy diet for providing minerals, which are important for your teeth.

Yeah, the huge ones are great. Similar to the smaller ones, they go orange and get a bit softer when they are ripe. I just bought a ripe one today...

Nettles are very high in iron. I pick them wearing gloves and then either juice or blend them which stops them from stining you.

How about slices of carrot, cucumber, courgette, etc to dip in the guacamole. You could even make wide slices of courgette (sorry, zuchini for you Americans) to spread it on.

They taste a bit like chocolate. It's the pod you eat, not the seed, the actual seeds are rock hard!

I know this is a vegan board and all that, but I think this discussion is very valuble so I'll add to it. I'm not vegan and don't beleive that vegan is our 'natural' diet. I believe that insects would form part of our 'natural' diet in the same way they do for bonobos (pygmy chimpansees, our closest relative). Currently I eat some insects and a small amount of dairy produce, with the eventual

If you go to and click on Tools and the Nutrient Search tool you can search different categories of foods for different nutrients.
I've done the searches for magnesium and put the links below but I don't know if they will work, you might have to do them yourself:

683. Re: I weight 149!
I'm 6 foot and weigh approx 145 (haven't weighed myself in ages). The interesting thing with me is that I've always weighed around this amount, when I was a meat eater, when I went veggie, and now been raw for 4 years, my weight hasn't changed.
But def. agree with others above, it's not what the scale says, it's how do you feel?

Sesame seeds, sunflower seeds and hemp seeds are all great foods which I eat daily.
You could probably replace nuts with sunflower seeds in some recipes, you will just have to experiment.

Someone else tried to tell me that all dried fruit is not raw unless you like spend loads of money and buy it from David Wolfe. But, how do you explain the little flys which hatch and fly out of my boxes of dates I buy at a local shop? They're not even labled organic but they must be pretty natural if insect lave survives!
