No, I'm sure I'm getting enough protein - as well as lots of hemp seeds and a variety of other nuts and seeds, I eat some raw dairy and some insects. Rob

Jen Rose, there are varying view on fat intake within the raw movement. Personally I think it's very important to get enough of the right kind of fats, and flax oil is very good in that regard. Remeber, our brains are made mostly from fat! Rob

Yes, maybe it is, but you would have to eat a hell of a lot of lettuce to get as much protein as from a portion of meat! Rob

Fruit is where we should get our energy, not fat. You will find most raw fooders agree with this. newguy, if drinking this smoothie is working for you then keep doing it. Rob

Fruit is where the energy comes from in a raw food diet, not veggies. Also, just eating more raw food is a good thing. If you continue to eat some meat but also eat more raw food then that is a positive change. Some raw fooders eat raw meat (particularly in France.) Some raw fooders eat cheese made from unpasturied milk (myself included) and some raw fooders eat eggs. Rob

Hey Thomas, after lots of thought on this subject, I decided that our "natural" diet would almost certainly have included bugs (insects) so I do eat them! Rob

Peer pressure is very strange. It's like they know really that what they are eating is bad for them, but if everyone is doing it, it's easier on their conscience. Once someone comes along and starts eating healthily, they start to feel guilty. If they manage to get you to eat their cooked food, it somehow eases their guilt. I'm not sure how that helps us, but it's good to understand the psyco

Well, acording to David Wolfe, in the interview on Raw Vegan Radio, they credit the original author at the begining. This is true for the reprint I looked in but whether it was in the original, I don't know. But whatever, surely they could have agreed with it when they published that book and now with more research and experience have come to different conclusions? Rob

Right on Narz. Ten years ago I ate a SAD diet and though nothing was wrong with it. Now, I've studied loads and know a lot more about what is good to eat. Just because some people wrote a book about how they felt at the time doesn't mean they can't do more research and and have more experiences and form new opinions. Rob

Tofu is never raw. To make tofu you need to cook the soybeans (I made it once). Once tofu is made, some people cook it again, so they assume that before they have cooked it, it must be raw, but not so, as it's cooked during the manufacturing process. Rob

Ok, I don't have time to read the previous post so I might be saying the same thing, but anyway: I had "alergies" most my life. I was particularly "alergic" to fruit. When I went raw, the symptoms of my "alergies" dissapeared and I eat lots of fruit now. When I go back to having some cooked food, it only takes 3 days with a couple of cooked snacks, my "ale

It's not the eating 100% that matters, it's making sure you get a blanced diet. It's entierly possible to eat a diet which is 100% raw and deficient in certain nutrients. Just think about it - eating 100% raw but only eating fruit is going to give very different results to eating fruit, greens, nut and seeds. Rob
