Maca is a root vegetable (think sweet potato, that kind of thing) which is dried and powdered. It's considered a "superfood" in that it has particularly hight amounts of vitamins/minerals, especially the B vitamins. It is good for balancing hormones. Rob

The raw diet is a "natural" diet. It helps us become more in tune with nature and our surroundings. Gyms and weights don't occur "naturally" so I don't see any reason that a "natural" diet should help with that. Although it does enable me to be very active and walk 5 to 10 miles per day. Rob

Stevia can be as simple as the leaf dried and powdered, so it can definatly be raw. Agave is processed, many agave products are not raw although some claim to be. Rob

I'm currently living in London and not really liking it - I want to get back out into the countryside. I'd love to share a house with other raw foodists (I'm 95%-100% raw vegeteraian, I eat some raw dairy), probably in Devon or Cornwall, but I'm open to other posibilities. Definatly want to be within very easy reach of natural places to go walking. Would be good to be by a river or the sea..

You can eat artichoke raw, I had one once and it was good, all you need to do is peel it (but how exactly I don't know as a friend did the one I ate). Rob

My initial thoughts are maybe it's not possible to do what you want to do on raw. Raw helps you become more "natural" and what you want doesn't sound "natural" to me. Whatever happens though, you're going to need to go through a change over time where you will probably get weaker before you can get stronger again. And now the practical suggestion - hemp seeds. The best

I have some food growing in the garden, and every day I go out and pick wild greens so I know what is around locally. Not much, but it's at least something. Rob

Start by adding more raw food to your diet. eg, try eating fruit for your breakast. Whe you are comfortable with this you can maybe add a salad with your evening meal, keep building on where you are at the present time. Rob

If you are talking about hemp and flax, I put flax in mine, but I don't put it in until the very end and just stir it in with a spoon, those oils are damaged easily by heat, my guess even the little bit of heat generated by the blender would not be good for them. Rob

For myself, my weight has never really changed, I've always been pretty slim at around 60kgs (about 130lbs?) and my weight hasn't changed when I've changed my diet. But what I've heard is that for a lot of people, when they go raw, they tend to loose more weight than they would think is healthy but then put a bit back on to get to a healthy weight. Rob

I would say hemp milk and hemp protein are much better than soy (soy milk is not raw.) Check out the "Chocolate Pudding" recipe (with Hemp Milk) here: www.funkyraw.com/philosophy/recipes.php I have this everyday! Rob

We've got to take into consideration that everyones bodies are different. There are two other options here which haven't be discussed: 1) Storm could be one of only a few who can sucessfully synthesise B12 or 2) * Storm could be eating enough insects (knowingly or unknowingly) to get enough B12 as he eats a lot of wild foods. Come one guys. You need a balance. Fruit is a good source of energy. You need to eat a balance of fruit, greens and fat. That balance is different for everyone, but going out and saying that fruit is evil is not the way forward Rob

Yeah, I think in general it's good advice. Apart from the distilled water bit - I hear bad things about distilled water because it's had all the trace minerals/elements removed - not what we would drink in nature. Rob
