Isn't craving supposed to lessen on a juice fast after a bit? You can give yourself variety on a green juice fast too. Dandelion is nice, or some spinach for a change I add fresh lemon juice to it. I can't really help much here because I always put fruit in my green smoothies. I think trying this quickly teaches you something valuable about the equasion that exists between craving and not givi

Tori, Still learning a lot from your posts. Am definitely going to have to visit Chinese produce market to get some fruit. Have developed a taste for passionfruit from being away and I want to find a source. I think really cold weather is behind us for the most part. Am ordering heirloom tomato seeds etc this week from Saltspring Island B.C. website. Can't wait to see those little gree

I added some chopped sun dried black olives to the cauliflower "rice" and threw in some cherry tomatoe halves. It looks gorgeous and was very good. Thanks for the idea Sachelle. I love raw cauliflower too.

Spent the last week at a resort in Punta Cana thanks to my genourous sister who took my mother and me along and paid for the stay. The sun felt divine.. Got to gorge on local papaya and passion fruit etc. What a treat!!! It was hard to get my greens though without my blender. The lettuce etc there was washed in chlorine and you could taste it sometimes so I ended up avoiding it along with mo

Thanks for checking in Sachelle, Starfruit My husband (ex) we're good friends has the diabetes too. I keep sending him articles etc about raw food, he's on a high protien south beach kind of a diet right now. He's worried about the sugar in fruit too and I don't know what to tell him except stop eating so much meat. I told him that it's the fat that causes the diabetes as per a couple of p

My challenge right now is to get my left shoulder healed, I've got pretty bad tendonitis in it and I keep reinjuring it and it HURTS! Only thing exercise wise I can do is run really, that's a blessing. Found a good massage therapist, not covered by insurance but he's really helping, not just the shoulder but my whole upper body is so messed up and tight it's not even funny. He said I have onl

Hey Tori! Things are sounding good for you! I sure envy you being able to run 27K and feel great. You are in some amazing good shape girl. What's in your pesto recipe? Warming the whole thing in the dehydrator sounds interesting. I think the though of eating it stone cold is what turns me off. Have been to Planet Organic a couple of times. Made the mistake of buying some of the raw cook

My weight has dropped a lot too, I do look skinny now but feel too good most of the time good to worry too much. I'm 5' 7" and 113 lbs the last time I checked. Overall though I have definitely have more energy/stamina so it can't be hurting me. Some people are concerned but I am keeping the faith. Almost 3 months later. Have had a few totally 100% raw days and hope to increase that number as time goes on. It's hard not to eat hot cooked vegetables or a few too many salty olives at supper when it's -29 C outside. At least I couldn' do it. What has improved? Two days this week I felt like I couldn't wait to get home and go for a run. Like I couldn't wait to take my new incredibly youn

I'm still new at this, only a few months at trying to be raw. I could not find what I wanted in the recipes/cook books either until I adjusted my taste to a good base of simple raw meals like smoothies and mono fruit meals. The recipes are for when I want some variety and I feel like making something special. Supper is still hard for me, I still compromise with some cooked soups and veget

TrotSantos, I had all my metal fillings replaced with white plastic. There is some info in "A Cure For All Cancers" by Hulda Clarke My new dentist said the mercury in fillings is "inert" and not harmful. I was not reassured and will probably not ever use mercury again. The white fillings look real nice.

I made my first dehydrated food on the weekend. Onion bread. Not really bread more like seed cake. (onions, sunflower seeds, flax, namu shoyu and oil). Tasty sort of but it made me sick too. I could feel it in my stomach for a long time. I thought it was because the sunflower seeds weren't the freshest and also because it is basically very high fat.

Hey, maybe I'll see you there! hope to get in a workout of some sort this eve first. I will be there about 7:30 ish. When I shopped there in Halifax last November on a trip to see my niece who's at school there I remember their samosas were deadly. But now I'm raw! If you see a thin woman in a black coat stuffing a brown paper bag full of samosas while drooling it might be me. Stop me! thro

Did you break the lock already? lol! My willpower is getting better but the cold really makes it hard I think. Do you have an easier time of this in the summer? I do get my bananas at Loblaws too but haven't wrapped my head around buying them by the case yet. Don't have a freezer except the one in my fridge. Nice snowfall eh? It was easy to shovel, I could have done it with a big broom

Prism, I do put berries in some of my smoothies, last eve used frozen rasberries, delicious but all those little seeds... Pineapple has to be ripe, I've learned that the hard way. The inside of my mouth feels like its been scraped right now from some I ate this AM. Sachelle sorry for being insensitive, I hope I didn't offend anyone. The thin factor is a sore spot for me and I wish I had a n

Had 4 oranges again for breakfast and 4 large bananas for lunch. Boy I feel good today. Want to get to the gym. No, I want to build a gym lol! Running last night felt different. My legs didn't hurt or tire. Uncanny after all these years. Just have to get past the kitchen when I get home and whatever cooked smells await and get my green smoothie down. I will probably have some steamed some

Dr Mom, I am on the skinny side and am worrried about getting thin. If you commit to this diet you may initially lose some weight but the good news is you'll feel like you're 30 years younger and to h*** with what people say. You see this is a sore point for me because of all the concern by family and friends around my weight because I was this thin when I had thyroid cancer about 3 yea

Well I guess I won't be trying Live (the restaurant) any time soon after your review. Maybe they have salads? I blend most of my greens now and miss salads but never know what to use for dres

Hi guys! Thanks for checking in. Got my dehydrator, probably not a good idea. A nice onion smell wafting through the house, making the "bread" with onions, sunflower and flax seeds. No idea how that will taste this time TOMORROW NIGHT LOL!. Geez some of those "yummy" recipes have a lot of fat in them! Will not use the onion "bread" for sandwiches, but just
