Dragon Fruit flowers "The round flowers are the size of dinner plates, with a sweet smell that appeals to bats and moths. Their wide, cupped shape is thought to reflect the signals of hungry echo-locating bats more than other flower structures." Here's an idea: Turn the attic of your abode into a green house full of Dragon Fruit.

QuoteSince 1975, an obscure California agency called the Bureau of Home Furnishings and Thermal Insulation has mandated that the foam inside upholstered furniture be able to withstand exposure to a small flame, like a candle or cigarette lighter, for 12 seconds without igniting. Because foam is highly flammable, the bureau’s regulation, Technical Bulletin 117, can be met only by adding large qu

Particularly well suited to the live food person is the Vision Quest, fasting in the wilderness to get a message directly from God. This was the method of enlightenment among the American Indians and is found in many religions. An excellent book to read is: Lame Deer, Seeker of Visions.

Phantom, I think the moss you refer to is slime mold: QuoteWhen food is abundant a slime mold exists as a single-celled organism, but when food is in short supply, slime molds congregate and start moving as a single body. In this state they are sensitive to airborne chemicals and can detect food sources. They can readily change the shape and function of parts and may form stalks that produce f

"as soon as it is warm enough to do so " I went barefoot all winter up in NW California once. For first several weeks my feet were uncomfortably cold, even painful. One morning, running up the beach in the surf, it changed all at once from painful to pleasantly cool and refreshing. And after that my feet were much more comfortable barefoot in even freezing conditions than they had

The very foundation of the live food movement was religious: QuoteThe Essene Gospel of Peace by Jesus Christ. For I tell you truly, live only by the fire of life, and prepare not your foods with the fire of death, which kills your foods, your bodies and your souls also. And the fire of death?" asked others. "It is the fire which blazes outside your body, which is hotter

I think the skin of unwashed fruit may have a spectrum of the needed microflora. Grapes may work very well. Crush the grapes. Let them ferment for just 1 or 2 days. This will be full of beneficial organisms for your digestion with very little alcohol. You could use your favorite grapes, Pinot Noir, Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, etc.

Looks like a great place; by the Wind River Mtns, Tetons, and Yellowstone. Nice. Lots of geothermal activity that could be used to heat house and greenhouse. Hot springs often have arsenic and other heavy metals. Have your well water checked. Check out "Uncommon Fruits for every garden" by Lee Reich for some good fruit ideas. As for browsers Explorer is reputed to be the worst. Firefox I hear is good. And based on just a little reading, Chrome came out the best. This site has never given me any problem although some time ago Firefox warned that it was a danger spot. I'm thinking the best solution may be Apple for the next computer. I hear it's immune to the security problems that plague Windows PCs.

You're referring to the Akashic records: QuoteReferences to the Akashic records, or the eternal Book of Life, date back to antiquity. References in the Old Testament and beyond give us the sense that there is a collective storehouse of knowledge that is written on the fabric of reality. The Akashic records are like the DNA of the universe. They are the soul's journey over time, so every tho

Lambs Quarter or Goose Foot (Chenopodium album), Perennial Ryegrass (Lolium perenne), California Brome, and Mulberry shoots are in season now in central California. Chew up the grasses, suck out the juice, and spit out the pulp. Eat any grass that tastes good. As the snow melts, perennial grasses sprout up delicious, tender, new growth, very very good. Follow the melting snow into the high

Here's Microsoft's instructions: here's some other easier instructions: For XP it's just tapping the F8 key as the computer starts. Here's another way to dry it out: Suspend laptop, keyboard down, over any heat source, like a burner on the stove. Keep the heat on low and the distance great enough so that it doesn't get hot, just warm is good.

I brought a phone back to life that had tea spilled on it. Take it apart as much as you dare or leave together. Set up a hair dryer or air popcorn popper to blow hot air on it. Keep the distance so the laptop is just kept warm with the blowing air; too hot and it will fry.

I read an interesting book by an architect from Saudi Arabia on mud houses. He would form them from clay, building in counters, shelves, sinks, etc., painting them with a glaze like pottery, leaving a good chimney open and then fire them for many hours at high temperature with brush, or gas from the nearby oil wells. They would vitrify like pottery with a beautiful pottery finish. They would b
