Amongst vegans it's practically gospel, but I've written up a review of the amazing China Study in case anyone hasn't read it. You haven't? Go read it right now. A better advocation of for veganism has not been written.

I get quite a few emails from people who are hooked on salt and basically asking if the sea salt is "really that bad.". They're looking for an excuse so they don't have to change. It's pretty clear that salt is bad for us, and I put together an article here: ; Hope it's of some help.

Ever have the urge to travel the tropics for months at a time, feasting on exotic fruit for practically nothing? I caught the bug in college and haven't shaken it yet. The book "Vagabonding" by Rolf Potts got me hooked. Definitely worth a read. Read my review here:

I find that raw foodists eschew materialism to a large degree. I've explored this a bit in a video. Hope you enjoy:

Since going raw my BO has completely disappeared. I've written about why it happened here: Anyone else not experience this on a raw diet?

Hey guys. I'm experimenting with adding video to my site. The two I've churned out so far are on <a href=" a colitis flare up I had recently </a> and <a href=" to get good produce in the winter,</a> with the example of the apple banana. Do you guys prefer video to articles? Both are rather amateur, but they get the job done. Any thoughts welcome.

Ever since I was a child I loved The Man Who Planted Trees by Jean Giono. For years I dismissed it as idealism, but increasingly, as I've researched permaculture and other restorative agriculture systems, I see that Giono packed some incredible wisdom in this simple and quick story. I wrote a review, which is linked below. I hope all of you will take the time to read this amazing tale.

Everyone seemed to like my plantain ripening guide, so I wrote about the history of the plantain. It's a common fruit with a lot of past. Hope you enjoy.

This may well be a contentious issue, but I think it's important to talk about it none the less. I've had a ton of success keeping my raw diet low fat. Besides the medical benefits, I just feel so much better. I wrote up this article: talking about why it's important to eat low fat. Many raw foodists are of the opinion that if fat is raw it's ok, but science is pretty clear that high fat d

You'll be looking for very little overt fat (or only occasionally) to keep overall fat intake under ten percent of calories. So this sort of ends the "classic" raw foodist salad, which is frequently laden with oils, covered with avocados and olives, etc. I often will eat leafy greens mixed with citrus fruits, which I find to be especially enjoyable. In terms of "regula

Hey guys. I've been getting periodic emails about plantains. People want to know when they're ready to eat, how to deal with mold, etc. I made up a photo guide here: Hope that helps. -Andrew

You can do a million things with persimmons. I never get tired of them. For Thanksgiving I stole a recipe from Sarah Lau Parker and made some persimmon pie. Not sure if I'll do it again for Christmas. What do you guys plan to eat?

Hey guys. I gave up TV six years ago, and it's made a huge difference in my life. I wrote an article about it here: What about you guys? Anyone free of TV? I'd say that it's made almost as large an impact in my life as going raw, and I'd say it's just as important. Getting free of the box opened me up to all kinds of other experiments. I mean, with the average American watching 4 and 1/

Anyone have monstera deliciosa before? It's one of my favorites, and I wrote an article about it here: I love how it has banana/ pineapple / something else taste. It's also bizarre enough to warrant some attention.

I've always been curious about how many raw foodists there are out there. No information is available, that I'm aware of, but there is some on vegans and vegetarians. I put together this article after doing some research. Looks like vegetarianism is growing in the US.

What do you guys think of Miracle Fruit? Anything that so drastically alters your taste buds is certainly interesting, but is it worth putting in our mouths? By all accounts it doesn't taste that great by itself, but it allows to eat things that otherwise would be unappealing. Anyone use it as a regular part of your diet?

Not sure if this is the case with you, but eating under ripe bananas (when they're not covered with brown spots and very sweet) will make me gag. A lot of people say they don't like bananas, but I think they're not eating them when they're ripe. When yellow they're still mostly starch. When they're heavily spotted brown they're mostly sugar. Or you could just be sick of bananas. Other good fr

Swimmer I by no means think research is evil. I'm all for it. When research is available, I use it quite a bit. For instance, you'll enjoy my article on the effect of diet on the enviornment. I cited quite a bit of technical information: You wrote: "If you are going to make statements about minerals, genetics, etc, research the subject so you are accurate in what you write."

Swimmer: I've been raw two years, in in that time have lost weight, healed my colitis, and generally found a level of energy that I can hardly believe. But I'm not creating anything new here. Dr. Doug Graham, who has been raw for somewhere in the realm of 20 years, basically recommends that same things. Check out the 80/10/10 Diet. Many of the raw leaders you want me to look at not what
