I've heard amazing stories about people who fought cancer with organic raw veggie/fruit juices (especially beets) and then one woman with kombucha. I know they make me feel good too. If I were recuperating, I'd also focus on lots of leafy greens (raw or not) and almonds. God bless and No Fear.

I find avocados and a handful of almonds fill the cheese void for me. coffee doesn't make me want to eat, but maybe a little (teeny) chocolate something would help. (raw cocoa is so good! i just ran out, what a pain!)

Since it's cherry season and I owe an apology to the vegan nature of the WHOLE board, (which I just realized) I figured I'd post my awesomest recipe as an apology. Yes it is a nod both to Homer of epic Greek mythology and Homer of Simpson fame. Perhaps you'll see why. 5 tbs ground raw cocoa nibs 5 heaping tbs almonds ground 5 cherries 1 tbs pine nuts 1/2 tbs oil 4 tbs brown sugar gr

all i know about candida (yeast right?) came from the book the south beach diet. by them, it's not even sugar so much as corn syrup, and doesn't mention fat. it says probiotics are the way to get rid of it. it's a great book even though there's no veg version. the intro is also very good for anyone who has to worry about getting/needs to prevent diabetes if you're interested, i'd definitely gi

obviously, this thread is supposed to be about someone's favorite bread recipe. obviously there is a bit of confusion as to the living and raw vs "vegan" issue. of course, duly noted, this particular section is labeled vegan, but then, there is a debate going on as to whether honey is vegan or not. it's made of pollen, therefore, i consider it vegan, if you don't, may i suggest substiti

I've eaten baby bok choys raw with an asian marinade. It's not too terrible if it's really well marinated where the salt/soy sauce or vinegar/lemon juice 'cooks" it down a bit. Putting it in the dehydrator may help a bit too. It's not as mellow as when cooked, but it isnt bad after an overnight, just a bit sharper flavor. I like to throw in some rehydrated shitake mushrooms with them, awesom

No wonder youre sick of them. I don't know why, but if you follow Edgar Cayce he says to "avoid raw bananas." I'm not sure but I'm pretty sure that was a general statement for everyone. Except for the all raw banana diet that i think was recommended in the case of a child with celiac disease. I still eat them occasionally, but always wonder why not to eat them as he didn't give a reason

I tried a water fast once for three days and crashed my metabolism. I ended up gaining twenty pounds afterwards eating lightly! It was miserable, but everyone's metabolism is different. I have switched to a leek soup fast (the one from French Women Don't Get Fat) and have had great results in the weight arena. It's a great book. Kudos though to people who can water fast. From what I've seen i

I love Kombucha. I had to start making it myself. It tastes kinda eww sometimes but it makes me feel so good and the health benefits are supposedly great. (Like cancer prevention/attack) Sometimes I'll drink one as a meal.

Did you notice the thread about b12? basically, it says b12 is abundant in dirt, and is really high in unwashed produce. of course i'd still wash mine but it helps to think if you do a bit of a slack job, you'll be getting extra b12.

i like juice. of course you miss out on the fiber, but probably the only thing to really be concerned with is the sugar intake/calorie count as far as weight goes.

Oh, if anyone actually wants to try that recipe, it's 1 cup of seeds sprouted and thin rounds, maybe a quarter inch+ thick. by that logic we're all made of p o o p, water and sunshine. or perhaps by decay, p o o p, water and sunshine. Oh, don't forget the air and the middleman (plant) honey- missed excretion vs. processor point, no true internal processing by the bees. (I'm pretty sure.) oh

Oh, that is so sad. Yeah, I noticed that (Vegan) after I posted. Still, I guess my experience is just with like people who have like one or two cows, or like really small farms. I never really thought about what happens to the calf. It's funny how we can sometimes take things for granted.(Like living in Vermont, now I'm stuck in New Jersey.)Still, as vegetable eaters we practically live on manure

here's my favorite sunbaked bread recipe that i altered off of Juliano's Essene bread recipe: awesome! 1 cup sprouted wheat 1 granny smith apple (or pear) 1/4 cup pecans 1/4 cup nutritional yeast 1/4 cup flaxmeal 1/4 tsp cinnamon drizzle honey (or agave) 1 tbs oil process homogenize to paste, spread into rounds, and dehydrate this makes a nice smooth bread to eat like toast

i guess (i'm justifying myself here) i just feel like i'm as insignificant as a bee, available to be exploited/ignored, and that is just the law of the land so who cares? i personally don't really feel like i'm robbing the bees, but really partaking of nature's gifts combined with man's ingenuity of a centuries' old tradition that dates back to a time when agave syrup wasn't "trucked in&quo

i don't know, i guess i just don't get the whole not eating honey thing i mean, yeah, we're robbing the bees, and if that's your reasoning, well, that's so compassionat to not want to do that, but at the same time, bees are so amazing, and how can one pass up on the nectar of flowers?? sorry bees, but i thank you. i suppose i make myself queen bee whenever i eat honey. how can i ever repay them.

well, i'm not exactly sure of how honey is made, but i'm pretty sure the bees are just like processors of the honey rather than eaters of the pollen. they make the honey to eat, not eat the pollen then excrete it somehow

haha, just eat some @#$%&, oh darn, that wouldn't be considered vegan. just thought i'd put in a plug for dairy. there are raw cheeses available (at least in my area). i personally don't see the harm in eating dairy. i love cheese yogurt and milk. i used to live in vermont. there's something so peaceful about dairy cows. cows are attributed to love and joy in Egyptian mythology. partake of the

I used to wash my stuff with some hydrogen peroxide mixed into the water. (i've since forgotten the ratio you're supposed to use.) i think it's like 1:10 water. i think that's what's in those spray washes at the store.
