HelloKitty, hm not sure what you are refering to with 'having this' - hotties? you can get those here: As for understanding, it's a process and I dont think there ever is a definite point of arrival. We are all but fellow travelers. Best wishes for your IBS

Mislu, I can't say I feel an 'acidity' from it, but I notice it makes me tired and dried out. Fire, on the other hand, warms my core and makes me feel cozy. It reminds me of how I feel when i am in the sun I dont like air conditioners either. By the way I have one of those 'Hotties' (buckwheat filled pillow. I pop it in the microwave (that thing's gotta be good for something!) and then

Jericho, the other day I noticed that the heat of fire warms me differently than heat from a heater. It feels more like being warmed by the sun. My husband theorizd that the sun's energy comes free through burning the wood. We also asked ourselves if it had anything to do with infrared maybe? Curious if you have an insight about that. Thanks for the videos

I was a low carber for years (first lost a lot of weight, then gained it back adn then some, even though I kept with the low carb life style throughout). Then I turned raw eating loads and loads of fruit. Basically I allowed myself anything I wanted as long as it was raw. I lost huge amounts of weight almost instantly. My theory is that was because of my body having been highly acidic from all t

I have been experimenting with all fruit dinners versus steamed veggie dinners. Seems the all fruit dinners make me lose weight easier rather than the veggies, even though calorically the fruit is higher. I think in that case the comparison is a bit unfair, though, because the steamed veggie probably take less energy to digest compared to the fresh fruit. Fresh greens may be a different story.

Hear ya. This happened last weekend and actually provided me with a great line to use for future: Me plus friends were on a trip. Friend A (hotel roomie) says to me in Mexican restaurant: Today is the day where you should be open to some new food choices! Friend B (who once was around me after I had eaten a vegan salad with dressing adn gotten SEVERE reactions from it): Trust me, you don't

I put my trust in Dr Fuhrman. I have read most of his books and am a member of his site. He is extremely committed to set the record straight on nutrition and provides good arguments (and scientific studies). on his site members can ask him questions and he answers personally. He strikes me as very ethical, generous and honest. His teachings may not appeal to everyone on this site, as he does not

oil pulling whitens my teeth! I actually swish my mouth with green juice - it mineralizes the teeth and makes mine whiter! Fruit stains my teeth. Mouthwash is a bad idea I think, for reasons stated above. La V - glass straw! I have to look into that - sounds beautiful and effective!

Search for Cauliflower rice on this board or google for recipes. I have never made it myself but I think the trick is to foodprocess the cauli so it gets the consistency of rice. You could also try raw buckwheat.

You could also check the juice fasting section on this forum, there is usually always someone juicing. I just juicefeasted for 45 days in May.

When I was juice feasting for 45 days my period was incredibly 'flowy', very bright red. Then it stopped altogether. Now back to eating (some cooked beans, all else raw) it is back, and clotty, dark. (sorry for the TMI!) This observation intrigued me. Interesting thread.

Radish juice is supposedly good (go easy in the beginning- can be quite spicy). I am off my thyroid meds since a juice feast in May. I had plenty of green juices (including crucifers) and did very well with it. Best to you

juicerkatz, will try that (the non citrus option, I am not much for citrus with my teeth) Gmq - coconut water is the clear liquid in the coconut, especially yummy in Thai young coconuts, which are harvested early and have more liquid rather than 'meat' as compared to the mature cocnuts. The oil is processed from the meat, which contains the fats. The water is low in fat and a great source of

I love them. They are great for my skin and since they are a root veg, they have warming qualities (according to Chinese medicine). I try not to do too much juice because it does give me a sugar rush, and I actually like chewing them (raw or lightly steamed). Jamba Juice makes fresh squeezed carrot juice while u wait. Not organic, Im sure, but great for on the go. And those baby carrot bags a

Per calorie makes more sense because through the sheer act of adding wateryou can significantly influence numbers , for one. And secondly, nutrients per calorie is where it's at in terms of reaching nutritionalexcellency. Consider that broccoli has more protein per calorie than beef and that underdoing healthful nutrients whilst overdoing calories from bad fats is a major cause of diseases, I th

Again agreeing with Flipperjan. Dont focus on the number of %, just go slllllloooooowwww. I can imagine the impulse to just get the drugs out of your body as fast as possible to be very strong at the moment, but according to what I have read in the Glenmullen books too fast can backfire. I'd focus on having food give you stability and balance rather than stressing your physiology and emotional st
