I was going to say banana also. Or Apple. And maybe celery? Squish the date on a stick of celery or slice of apple. Yum caramel apples.

I really wouldn't worry about it. :-) Fruit is man's natural biological food and your body knows how to handle it. Just eat *enough* - not too little, not too much. Too much of anything isn't good either, but I doubt you could actually overeat on watermelon!

Here is the FAQ from the 80/10/10 site: It will answer your q's about garlic, vinegar, salt etc. :-) I've been condiment free for 1.5 yrs now and the food just keeps tasting better!

If you can get it pretty fresh and not starchy, it is absolutely delicious. If it tastes starchy and old I'd probably avoid it. I am a big fresh corn lover. Can't wait to grow my own some day!

Wendi, if I were you I would probably eat as much fruit as I wanted for that duration and not stress about calories, but maybe once a week plug in your food intake for that day into nutridiary.com to see where you're heading. :-) If you're eating about 2000 cals a day, then a small avo would not be too much. If I eat fat I usually eat it in the evening like you said - mainly because it takes

I make this for my kids occasionally, and I just throw banana slices and other berries/chopped up fruit in it for the cereal. They like it a lot.

Bring an orange, cut it and squeeze a few slices over your salad? It's sweet and yummy. I used to not enjoy undressed salad, but after a few months on 80/10/10, I just don't dress my greens/salad anymore and it tastes fine. YMMV. :-)

Congratulations on your epiphany. I do agree with David, but I also see (and have experienced) that fruit eating does strip you bare so to speak. Counselling helped, as did having a really terrific hubby and very good friends. And honestly - time heals and after awhile it doesn't seem to be as big of a deal anymore. You can do it, dancer!

Blend a couple of very ripe bananas with water to make a milk like consistency. :-) For the "cereal" - how about chopped up fruit and berries? I actually think it's more important to carb up after a workout. As a matter of fact I wrote about it today in my blog in case you're interested. Just my 2 cents. Good luck :-)

vegetarian? If not, then just - try to keep cutting out processed foods (doesn't sound like he eats that much though) and stay low fat. Actually, instead of cutting stuff out, I would suggest that he keep increasing the amount of fresh fruit and veggies in his diet. As he does that, he will hopefully naturally want the other stuff less and less. :-)

Best wishes to you! I think that is an amazing thing you did - to stop in your tracks and realize that you were DONE with what you were doing. That's kinda how I was. I have truly enjoyed, and thrived on, a high fruit diet. I have detailed accounts of every single day (up to 90 days or so) of my transition into the raw diet last year, if you're interested. I'm not telling you to do this - but if I were you I'd probably go and eat local fruit anyway. :-) I've been there and we were told not to even brush our teeth with the water, but I did and I never had any problems. Some of my very American friends did get sick though, but none of them were healthy eaters... I think if you're already pretty healthy, you will probably be fine. But don't tak

Mira, I started to reply to this but I wrote something very recently that may help you and I was too lazy to type the whole thought out again. So if you feel like reading, here ya go: IMO, calories from carbs, fat and protein are quite different from each other.

In general, fruits are the food with the highest percentage of vitamins, and veggies/greens are the food with the highest percentage of minerals. This is comparing them to ANYthing else others may consider as foods, such as animal products, etc. So a variety of fruits and veggies/greens would cover you more than adequately.

Coming in a little late here - but here's what's working for me... (Many people recently have commented that I look in my mid-20's - I'm 31, used to look much older, and have only been raw for 1.5 yrs, so still a newbie and hoping to see further improvements in the future.) Low fat diet coupled with lots of sunshine. HTH
