Quotetrying to eat foods that are not compatible with the human digestive system. Its so amazing to get really raw because everything else from an eating perspective either dosn't measure up in comparison to raw or is unnecessary like the supplements. The two times I have "slipped" and gone back to the crappy foods what has turned me back to raw has been the perfection of the raw food

I have come up with a way of yearly eating that works for me. I eat almost all of my food as simple fresh raw meals with most meals being mono meals and a small % being two food meals like my breakfast wheatgrass juice with an orange juice chaser. There isn't as much diversity in selection as people who do recipes have to select from. I compensate for this by not eating my winter foods all year l

I think the body is OK with reasonable amounts of raw food fat as found in nuts, seeds, avocados, etc but encounters problems when fats are cooked. Here's an interesting short article about "sticky fats" that speaks to that:

I think the raw foods have a better energy yield for the digestive effort and the body uses the additional energy it gets to clean and maintain the body. Cooked and dead foods like salt etc provide more problems then benefits and are a liability rather then an asset. The body does the best it can with what its given.

One of my favorite movies is "28 Days". In the movie Sandra Bullock plays a person with addictions who goes to a rehab center. While there she meets a baseball player who teaches her how to pitch a baseball into the strike zone and inadvertently teaches her how to overcome her addictions at the same time. His lesson is about focusing on the little things you can control and letting go

Oil pulling is a detox & cleansing technique. I think oil pulling goes beyond pulling toxins out of the gums and also pulls toxins out of the tongue and the sublingual area under the tongue and the rest of the mouth in general as well. I have often wondered how much difference in effect there is between using expensive oil and inexpensive oil ?

Quote...now you can see how to eat them Yummmmmmmm, Looking forward to trying a ripe one It looks like the consistency might be about right for a salad dressing. Has anyone tried persimmons in or as a salad dressing ?

Quotecoconut oil to my diet. It is so filling. But make sure you get the good kind- organic, unrefined, unbleached and raw. I get mine from www.NaturesApproved.com. They all taste different I wonder why different brands all taste different ? Are there different tasting coconut trees ?

I was just thinking about how a thread like this one causes me to stop and take notice of the changes in my life since going raw. Every time I do this I am grateful for the raw benefits and I also re-commit to raw. Viva la raw.

Because of the absence of a stuffed up nose its easy to breathe and not notice the difference but hey -- big difference. Also I don't have an overweight problem anymore and I have never been more regular in bowel health then I am now.

Quote I try to eat dark stuff like spinach and kale, but to be honest I don't like the taste and it makes me feel nauseous. Try Romaine and/or baby spinach as I find those to be the tastiest greens. I also like Wheat Grass juice chased with orange juice.

The main thing I have learned about raw food and cooked food is that they don't mix. A person who eats cooked food will eat more and more cooked food and less and less raw food. Degenerative diseases come from eating cooked food. Health & wellness come from eating raw food.

2. -- I would suggest that eating raw is not an eating disorder but actually is based on the logic that cooking destroys nutrients and that you want to do the best by your health that you can by making healthy choices. After that you could suggest that he does his own investigation into how cooking damages food. Who knows you may start him on an eating path direction change if he is open minded t

Everyone is a raw foodist. I think you would be hard pressed to find anyone above the age of five that has never tasted a raw apple or some other item of raw food so that means that its just a matter of degrees. Its all about percentages and not about if a person has had a bite of raw food in their lifetime or not so we're all in the same camp. Take your time and move at your own pace.

QuoteEZ rider - maybe you were still having less calories even with your 6 avos a day than your previous diet. What was your previous diet like? Thats possible as I didn't count calories and still don't. My previous diet was similar to my present diet in that they are both mostly fruit (avocado is a fruit) except that my previous diet was a much higher fat diet and also it didn't have daily WG j

Chia seeds are a mucilaginous seed like flax seeds. If you can't get Chia seeds maybe you could try a different mucilaginous seed ? Also maybe they are allowed now because of Benexia Corporation's efforts ?

Quoteyou have to burn more calories than you consume in a day... regardless of the type of food it is. I'm not so sure this is correct ? Maybe its old school thinking like when Columbus thought the world was flat ? When I first went raw I ate lots of calories in the form of avocados and other fats. Some days I would eat up to 6 avos in a day. I transitioned out of that and now I do the 80-10-10.
