For the best digestion eat the fastest digesting foods first in your day and the slowest digesting foods last as a daily timing sequence. Also simple meals like mono meals digest more easily then complicated meals that consist of many foods. The best signal you'll ever get for when to eat is a hunger signal so if your in doubt just wait for a slight hunger signal and then you'll know that your bo

I got some yesterday at an oriental market for $1.49 a pound which was $6.63 divided by 4 pome's thats about $1.66 each. I like to get the pome's with the deepest red color I can. I havn't had any pome's since last winter so I had to kinda re-learn my technique of scoring the skin and breaking them apart.

There are many different ways to do raw. If there ever is a study done I would like to see it done with several different raw food lifestyles. I would be especially interested in seeing a study done on the 80-10-10 raw lifestyle as compared to the typical SAD lifestyle.

Lettuce dosn't have many calories and Iceberg lettuce dosn't have many nutrients. Adding some simple carbs like fruit could add some clean burning calories for fuel.

When I get up in the morning I like to drink water for awhile and then have break-fast. This extends out the body's natural overnight fast. I like to drink water until I get a hunger signal and then I have a simple mono meal of fresh fruit or fruit juice for break-fast. This feels very natural and in fact I use my natural body signals as my guide so that a natural break occurs between the overnig

Most of the water fasts I have done I had hunger that lasted for about 3 or 4 days and then disappeared until weeks later (I have done three 21 day water fasts and many shorter ones). A few of my fasts I started when the urge for hunger left me because I wasn't feeling well and I didn't want to eat. On those fasts I moved past the short period of time where the body is switching from running on g

I'm sorry to hear of your recent problems. Most raw food eaters tend to eat a lot of whole raw foods but I don't think that is going to be an option for you due to the blockage. You might consider juicing for a lot of your calories. Possibly juicing all of your greens and hard foods like carrots etc. A good place to start experimenting might be around 50% juice and adjust from there. For fiber yo

The taste of the young coconut meat is kinda bland IMO and so is the juice but when blended together it fits the definition of synergism because together they taste amazing.

Grapes and green juices are the two foods that I eat daily all year long. The rest of my diet changes with the seasons.I prefer to not eat my winter foods in the summertime so that I don't tire of them during the winter. The grapes I never get tired of, maybe thats because of the variety of types of grapes ? Right now I have some very large black grapes that are rawlicious. They are just a little

The Fruit FaeryQuotewhat do you take or do to deal with infection/ avoid antibiotics? I get some grapefruits and juice them using one of those small inexpensive hand juicers that collects the pulp and seeds in a strainer. I chew the seeds well and wash them down with the grapefruit juice. I prefer the taste of the pink grapefruit the best. For more information about the seeds google grapefruit

pampamQuoteI have been trying to change my eating from someone who eats everything to eating only raw foods for two years now. I have been sucessful for a few months at a time but then I will give into some sort of temptation and then feel I am on a spiral down and find myself binging Me too. I take a bite of cooked food and its like taking a step off the raw path and right off a cliff. I go in

debbietook, Good article on salt - thanks As I was reading the part about salt licks I thought about how animals like cats and dogs will drink car anti-freeze if given the opportunity and get very sick. You would think that the animals would know better then to eat non-organized stuff like that but I guess they don't.

I have heard that there are no regulations in the US about calling anything raw regardless of processing. A good example of this is "Pepsi Raw" a soft drink that is not a raw food as the raw food community would define it.

The Almonds, like all nuts, have a high fat content but if they are truly raw then IMO they would be a better choice then eating cooked food because cooking damages food.

When I started raw I ate about 70% fruit and 30% greens and veggies. That has stayed the same over the last two plus years but what has changed is the fat in my diet. I ate as many avocados as I wanted and after awhile I wanted fewer and fewer avocados until I rarely eat avocados anymore, its been well over a month since my last one. This happened naturally by listening to my body rather then any

The body can direct its efforts as it feels necessary. This can mean that the body may prioritize a healing need above a weight loss need and direct its efforts there.

Hi Molli, My "slips" have all started with yielding to a taste of a cooked food I felt a craving for. I have found that when I get enough greens there aren't any cravings. My present diet has evolved to juicing greens & veggies and eating fruit as a whole food. This has worked the best for me of anything I have tried to date. I have participated in the boards since i went raw (

Music. I like to listen to some low volume, new age, instrumental, slow tempo, interesting beat music in the background. Every so often a piece of music will get my attention and I tune in and focus my attention on the music and it washes over me like a feeling of becoming a calm lake on a windless day.

I'm probably not the best person to comment on nuts and seeds because I don't eat any nuts and the only seeds I eat come inside the fresh raw foods I eat. However, that dosn't stop me from having a theory and it has to do with how difficult it is to get truly raw nuts (even if they say their raw). Any cooked food that is eaten stirs up the cravings for more cooked food. So if the nuts are not tru

If your bad mood is due to food it would be hard to say what nutrient your body is lacking because when the food is cooked most of the nutrients are heat damaged leaving your body wanting for nutrients. Eating cooked food is kind of like being on a nutrient fast while getting plenty of empty calories.
