Excellent post Bruce. I personally have found cacao to be addictive. I recognise the feeling of addiciton to non addiction as I was eating a simpler raw diet before raw cacao came along, and I never craved or desired it before and after I started eating it daily and then desiring things with cacao in. I kept trying to give it up but kept making excuses to use it, ie it is raw, a litle won't h

I was eating cacao daily for a while, not a lot like 1 tsp at most but I developed mild heart palpitations from time to time but I didn't relate it to the cacao at first. On another occasion, I had a lot of cacao and I was so jittery and hyper, it was not pleasant. I find it addictive and crave cacao, and have it occasionally, which is strange because before I started eating it as part of a r

Yes, that is true, I feel quite silly now, as I did believe it all for a while and I never felt any better actually I felt worse, and then I kept searching for more and more different stuff and I thought I was so clever cos I knew all the latest super foods and now I kind of realise I've been had and lost the plot to some degree. Of course fresh local foods are going to be better, it seems so

***Dr. G. is a descent soul it is great to see he has the courage to step into this type of environment and shed some light on the "DarK" raw movement.*** What is the dark raw movement? Is it the cacao or is it the superfoods not being really raw, are any of them raw at all? I know agave is not raw, although apparently you can get some raw agave and it is clear, is that true? I fi

Wow thanks for that inspiring story. I agree I think there is so little known about nutition, really less known than known. I remember being wowed by the story of the vegetarian lion although others thought it was cruel, but it was the lions choice to be vegetarian it didn't like meat. It lived 10 years so it just shows because you really wouldn't imagine a lion could live on vegetarian.

Y I can't understand why you can't just drop the matter now and have you ever considered that constant aggressive demands for appologies and threats to Bryan about contacting the owner and putting it on the forum also constitutes to harrassment. It is just going on and on. I wasn't involved in the topic, so I don't fully know why there is such upset, but I've read the topics since for consta

Is it ok if I do this answer to raw cheese as it is for this person's project against dairy. Raw cheese isn't even raw as milk involves heating before fermentation, frederic patenaude and cheese as one of the top 5 worst foods you can eat this is what he says. 1- Fermented Cheese. Fermented, or ripened cheese is one of the most toxic foods known to man. The smallest quantity has a catastrop

Oh yeah and wheat is addictive but it has chemicals in it similar to opioids so it can have an effect on the emotions. Dr Abram Hoffer an orthomolecular nutitionist who studied schizophrenia found many people got completely better and drug free when they cut out wheat. Also it was discovered withmany cases of autism at a study centre in scotland that studies the effects ofmilk and wheat with

Even though substances like alcohol and drugs and caffeine are physiologically addictive because they affect brain chemicals like serotonin dopamine and many others, those brain chemicals are also linked to regulating emotions, ie schizophrenia is sometimes linked with excess dopamine. So I still think even if something is proved to be physiologically addictive it is relateed to dumbing down e

I resonate with it, and reminds me that certain foods aren't physiologically addictive but can be emotionally addictive. People associate certain meals or sweets with emotional experiences, ie given candy as a child when hurt, therefore we associate foods or special meals we had as a child with pleasant happy emotional experiences, we crave the experience therefore the food reminds us of the p

I started raw in 1985, after reading survival in the 21st Century, and then drifted to around 70% by 1988, I started 100% raw again in 2000 for 5 years and was reminded of how great it was when I read david wolfe sunfood diet success system the first edition which is a great book. Now I follow a lower fat than was reccommended by david wolfe. I'm not alway 100% raw now but mostly, and am curren

Thanks for posting that suvine. I wonder though if he is on Tyra whether it is somewhat making a celebrity out of him and his illness possibly making it more difficult for him to recover. I don't mean to be mean, as he sounds like a sweet guy, and it is not nice to see someone suffer like this. I've had food issues myself, minor though in comparison to his and they can be difficult to ov

I was already thinking of stopping seaweeds due to the b12 analogues. It makes sense they would be contaminated with pollution, the kelp from Iceland maybe better as iceland is less polluted.

"Synthetic" B12 is naturally produced by bacteria. Your body's chemicals will not be able to tell if it was produced by bacteria under controlled conditions or not. I thought the B 12 were synthetic, so if it is produced from bacteria, it is natural then, but they are not still living, like the nano b plex is living in that it has an energy field and resonance with body chemistry,l

Oh yeah and that reminds me, of a guy called Harley, who developed a really bad b 12 deficiency, but had no symptoms. He quadrupled his levels on blood tests by consulting doug graham and cutting out fat, and that is all, no supplement, I don't know the full details of what he was eating before, although I know he is an endurance athlete that follows 811. I found that really fascinating. He r
