I discovered that I am fond of passion fruit recently. So I got myself a box of it and have been enjoying it not in moderation. Also, I discovered that my favorite summer dessert, gets unbelievably decadent and yummy with the addition of passion fruit. Layers of vanilla bean banana ice cream, young berries and raspberries from my garden, topped up with passion fruit. I like to indulge my friends with it too. Yes, I'm not vegan, I'm 'beegan' "There have also not been any scientific proof on the benefits of royal jelly." I know this is not your quote but... [www.therawfoodworld.com] Lots of studies on the health benefits of royal jelly. Re: What's on your RAW menu? (v2)

Thank you so much for your postings about passionfruit. I have a vine and I have been ignoring them. I only put the fruit in water and had a cold tea and tried to chew the fruit that way. I really did not know how to eat it properly. I like your idea of mixing the sweet and sour. Since you like fruit, I will share some of my fruit meals this week: -quarts of a combo of sweet lemons (aka persian limes--I bought many pounds), pink grapefruit, blood orange and orange juice...so delicious -pints of pineapple and nopal cactus apple juice and pineapple coconut juice (juiced with the core) -fruit salad with berries (raspberry, blueberry, blackberry), papaya, persimmon, banana and fresh thai coconut milk with vanilla bean and lots of chia -cherimoya, coconut, mango and cactus smoothie - fresh aloe, orange and berry juice - dehydrated sapote chocolate (I had too many sapotes to eat, so I made chocolate with them and dried it on sliced bananas) Other raw food this week were a lot of collard wraps, butternut squash soups, salads, raw vegan cheese and raw veggies, and raw vegan restaurant food. (I am not all raw, but trying to eat more raw.) P.S. I know many people are skeptical of fruit, but I will say I live in an area with exquisite fruit and they balance out many bitter and sour herbs. Date: December 28, 2014 05:35AM 9 bananas, 2 mangos, 3 figs, 2 oranges, 20oz fresh pineapple, 10oz fresh watermelon, 3 cups of cooked millet (admittedly salted - and oversalted, at that), a handful of grape tomatoes, and one bunch steamed asparagus with fresh lemon juice.
I'm giving 80/10/10 a go after my last candida flare-up. My first bite of banana was insanely good. Grocery shopping the other day, I think I was scaring people by how much I was smiling, filling up my cart with fruit. I have literally been dreaming of this for months. Cutting down on salt is going to be difficult, though. Re: What's on your RAW menu? (v2)

Two weeks - You are in big trouble now. Better find a less ordinary treat for such times - if you value such things as unripped off windowsills, Etc.. Pecans work around here. Date: December 29, 2014 04:54PM Still visiting family, so a bit more cooked than I would prefer, but:
-3 bananas, 2 oranges, 1 Fuji apple -2.29lbs freshly cut pineapple -1/2lb baby carrots -2 small crowns steamed broccoli -3c cooked quinoa tossed with fresh spinach and cherry tomatoes Still hit everything but selenium, it seems. I know that Brazil nuts are a good source, but due to my health issues it's recommended that I stay off overts completely for a while. Also, I got about 107% RDA of omega-3s, but 53% omega-6s. I know people tend to overdo the omega-6s, so there is alot of emphasis on getting the omega-3s, but is this bad? Re: What's on your RAW menu? (v2)

You only need 1 or 2 Brazil Nuts a day to get your selenium, so that won't affect your overall Fat %. Re: What's on your RAW menu? (v2)

I wish they were available fresh here but I can only find them squished into a block in the frozen food section. They must be a different variety as the picture on the package doesn't has a light skin and the block of fruit looks orange. Maybe I'll try it anyway. Re: What's on your RAW menu? (v2)
