The possible Ebola patient hospitalized in Memphis is said to be an African who works at an Herbalife warehouse. Just a heads up, while waiting for the press conference news, for those who take herbs.

One of the main reasons why so many of y'all just don't get it is because you guys are missing too many Pieces of the Puzzle (and I'm doubting whether or not any of y'all could Connect the Dots even if you had more Pieces of the Puzzle).

For example, Bertrand Russell was a member of the Fabian Society and if you guys don't know what the Fabian Society is, then you are CLUELESS as to what is going on in Liberia and around the world!!!

Thanks for posting this SueZ. I'm trying to keep up, but I missed this and also the news about the possible Memphis case.

The Sudan thing worries me because Sudan has banned media coverage about Ebola. This is a disease that thrives on lack of information and misinformation.

If it's true there are cases in Sudan and possibly Chad, then Ebola has begun to spread across Africa.

Here's a link to a map of Africa, so we can see where all these cases (and suspected cases) are.

Currently, Sierra Leone, Guinea, and Liberia (West Africa), and the Congo (separate strain) all have Ebola. Mali has had one case, but also many probable exposures.

Suspected cases could possibly be in Chad and Sudan.

Nigeria and Senegal have had cases, but were recently declared Ebola-free (42 days without a reported case).

No reason to fear anything.

About fearing Ebola: it's more important to stay informed.

About fearing vaccinations: Teachers and especially health care workers have more vaccinations than anyone else in this country. None of them are dying of Ebola.

Currrently there is no vaccine for Ebola, and a vaccine is not expected until possibly some time next year. Health care workers will have this vaccine before anyone else. Hopefully, it won't be necessary here in the US at all.

If the "dots" have to be "connected", this indicates the evidence is lacking, and is replaced with assumptions.

And if all of the "dots" are chosen because they fit the same general belief set to begin with, then of course, they will all fit together very well.

IMO, it's better to form our beliefs based on the facts than to form the facts based on our beliefs.

Yeah, this could get monstrous. Doesn't China own those mineral rights? Are Americans working in the oil fields there?

No, rose, if that is even your real name, I am not a shill. If you knew anything you would know that - but you don't. And you don't even care that you don't know or have not offered a shred of evidence on that matter or any other of your puffed up hot air bag allegations. You're just full of hot air and that is all. No, you are not right just because you said so except in your own little claustrophobic sick and twisted world.

I posted some thoughts about Dr. Laibow on Prana's thread. According to Dr. Laibow's article, Ebola for the Informed: "Ebola virus has now been genetically engineered to enhance its kill rate to a staggering 90%."

Question: How do you believe Dr. Laibow if you don't believe in viruses?

The New Jersey nurse has been released from mandatory quarantine.

Dr. Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, has said an alternative to mandatory quarantine could be to send health care workers out to people's homes to take their temperatures everyday.

In my opinion, this is the preferred solution. This is what was done in Nigeria, and it worked. As I recall, at one point, they were monitoring 400 people this way. Nigeria is (currently, at least) Ebola-free.

3 weeks quarantined in a tent is like 3 weeks in jail - no, it's much worse because there's no getting out to the exercise yard.

Health care workers in Africa are the major line of defense in preventing Ebola from coming to the U.S. It makes no sense to reduce their incentive to go there when alternatives to quarantine are just as effective.

So far, I haven't seen any evidence that Ebola is contagious at the beginning stage when fever is first detected. I'm open to it, but I haven't seen it.

My mistake - 900 people were monitored everyday - not 400.

Here is a video from Nigeria about monitoring suspected exposures by visiting their homes everyday and taking their temperatures. [www.bbc.co.uk]

IMO we should do this here for health care workers coming from West Africa and others exposed to Ebola instead of mandatory quarantine and instead of asking them to take their own temperatures.

You'll see in the video that the index patient who actually did have Ebola was isolated against his will. This does have to happen for people who are actually sick, so that others are protected.

I thought this was a good story and video. Congratulations Nigeria!

Meaning they had difficulty understanding the facts.

Ebola is a disease, and it's caused by a virus. We shouldn't be afraid of it. We should know the facts.

Thank you Prana.

The link doesn't show the video now. I would like to have seen what they were wearing and, if they actually entered homes, what disposable protection they had on their feet, etc. I don't trust anything but mandatory quarantine at this point since the health care workers protocals don't seem to be functional yet. I also am not as sure as you are that Nigeria is trustworthy in their reporting that all is well.
