Hi SueZ,

Hope you're doing well, and thanks so much for alerting us to the new guidelines!

Here's the new CDC guideline information from their website. It's definitely stricter, and does now include acknowledgement of what looks like a risk for aerosol contagion (being in the same room).

Plus, there's now "active monitoring" and "direct active monitoring", depending on the risk level. It's a little complicated. Anyway, I hope it's effective.

Looky what I just found. Some smart people are on the ball!

"Protect Americans against Importation of Deadly Diseases Like Ebola, Says AAPS"

(Association of American Physicians and Surgeons)

This is what they want...

"Since the primary role of the federal government is to protect the citizenry, AAPS calls for congressional hearings and consideration of legislation to:•Require persons entering the U.S. from West Africa or other areas reporting Ebola to undergo a 25-day period of quarantine;

•Require that all illegal entrants undergo an adequate period of quarantine with screening to assure freedom from tuberculosis, infestation with scabies or lice or other ectoparasites, or other communicable diseases;

•Protect whistleblowers who report potential public health threats;

•Assure that timely and accurate information is reported to the public and medical facilities about the existence of threats and effective precautions.

Thanks SueZ!

I wonder what they mean by "quarantine". Does it mean the person would be confined to their home; and if so, how is that enforced? Or will quarantine take place in some special facility or "tent" within a hospital somewhere?

Would it be enforced equally for health care workers and non-health care workers?

Also, what about people who have cared for Ebola patients here in the U.S., like the health care team caring for Dr. Spencer in Bellevue? Should health care workers be quarantined for 25 days after caring for Dr. Spencer, plus during the time that Dr. Spencer is in the hospital?

If it means being quarantined at home, people might appreciate the vacation time - especially if they were paid for it! Maybe that's just how I see it though. These are difficult questions, and someone will object no matter what (for sure).

25 days seems reasonable though, at least for monitoring. I like the idea of having some travel restrictions plus mandatory "direct active monitoring" for everybody - twice a day - as a step up from "active monitoring". Just like the "buddy system" for donning and doffing protective gear, "direct active monitoring" involving health care personnel would be like a buddy system for checking anyone who has been near Ebola.

Well, we'll see what happens!

Since the quarantine would take place before they arrived in the US, I suppose it would have to be based on the system in place used to protect our livestock from the foreign diseases of foreign livestock.

Thank you, suncloud. That was very informative.

..."Back in the body, the accumulating damage in the liver leads to something called disseminated intravascular coagulation or DIC, where blood over-coagulates in some locations, but cannot thicken in others, creating a situation where blood vessels become leaky. That is what results in the bleeding – mostly internal – for which Ebola is known."...

DIC is a tough one. I suppose once liver damage has begun copious amounts of vitamin C would not be helpful in that it works as a blood thinner.

A Belief in a Virus reinforces a Belief in a Vaccine. In reality, the Viruses do Not Exist and the Vaccines do Not work. In reality, both the Virus and the Vaccine are Not designed to get us Healthy - the Virus and the Vaccine are designed to keep us Sick and to make us Sicker. Viruses do Not Cause Disease and Vaccines do Not Prevent Disease.

Some people think Ebola is not a disease, but a plot to make people take vaccines. They are mistaken. There is currently no vaccine for the Ebola virus, and no one can take a vaccine that doesn't exist.

I NEVER said that the SYMPTOMS labeled Ebola is not a dis-ease - all I have said is that it's NOT Caused by a Virus and that our Belief in Viruses is what leads us to the Vaccines.

As long as we believe in Viruses, we will believe in the NEED for Vaccines.

Why is this so hard for you to understand?

Oh yea, "most people don’t see the connection between Vaccines and Viruses because most people have way too many References that Support their FALSE Beliefs about Vaccines and Viruses." [www.rawfoodsupport.com]

Version #1:

<<<Some people think Ebola is not a disease, but a plot to make people take vaccines. They are mistaken. There is currently no vaccine for the Ebola virus, and no one can take a vaccine that doesn't exist.>>>

Version #2:

<<<Some people think Ebola is not a virus, but a plot to make people take vaccines. They are mistaken. There is currently no vaccine for the Ebola virus, and no one can take a vaccine that doesn't exist.>>>

Changing not a disease to not a virus has nothing to do with whether or not there is a BOGUS VACCINE.

This LIE - the Ebola Virus Lie - has everything to do with the BIG LIE that VIRUSES Cause Dis-Ease, these Dis-Eases are Contagious and Vaccines can Protect you.

It's all one BIG LIE because if we ever started to figure out that we EAT our Colds and Flues, then we might also figure out that we EAT virtually ALL of our other DIS-EASES, especially the top 2 KILLERS here in America - Heart Disease and Cancer!

Once again, A Belief in a Virus reinforces a Belief in a Vaccine.

Here's a question for those who have the Wisdom of a Buddhist and have the ability to hold 2 possibilities in your brain at the same time...

What is one of the most COMMON SYMPTOMS for virtually EVERY DRUG?

ANSWER:

Flu-like Symptoms!!!!!!

Next Question...

How can a DRUG / TOXIN create Flu-like Symptoms???

The reason why most DRUGS create Flu-like Symptoms is because ALL DRUGS ARE POISONS / TOXINS and Colds and Flues are BODY INITIATED in order to get rid of POISONS / TOXINS!!!

FOOD for THOUGHT...

“Society is always taken by surprise by any new example of common sense.” -Ralph Waldo Emerson

"Whenever you find that you are on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect." -Mark Twain

"The essential is to get rid of deeply rooted prejudices, which we often repeat without examining them." -Albert Einstein

“All of this is much easier to implement than it seems. The biggest hurdle is not the physiological but psychological. As Walter Bagehot once remarked, ‘The pain of a new idea is one of the greatest pains in human nature ... Your favorite notions may be wrong, your firmest beliefs ill founded.’ And your favorite foods may be the root cause of your greatest pains! It’s a fact of life that people find it easier to believe a lie they’ve heard a thousand times than a fact they’ve never heard before. -Daniel P. Reid, -"The Tao of Health, Sex, & Longevity" p. 79

A prion is an infectious agent composed of protein in a misfolded form.[2]

Current research suggests that the primary method of infection in animals is through ingestion. It is thought that prions may be deposited in the environment through the remains of dead animals and via urine, saliva, and other body fluids. They may then linger in the soil by binding to clay and other minerals.[58]

A University of California research team, led by Nobel Prize winner Stanley Prusiner, has provided evidence for the theory that infection can occur from prions in manure.[59] And, since manure is present in many areas surrounding water reservoirs, as well as used on many crop fields, it raises the possibility of widespread transmission. It was reported in January 2011 that researchers had discovered prions spreading through airborne transmission on aerosol particles, in an animal testing experiment focusing on scrapie infection in laboratory mice.[60] Preliminary evidence supporting the notion that prions can be transmitted through use of urine-derived human menopausal gonadotropin, administered for the treatment of infertility, was published in 2011.[61]

Scientists Show "Lifeless" Prions Capable of Evolutionary Change and Adaptation

It was generally thought that once cellular prion protein was converted into the abnormal form, there was no further change," Weissmann said. "But there have been hints that something was happening. When you transmit prions from sheep to mice, they become more virulent over time. Now we know that the abnormal prions replicate, and create variants, perhaps at a low level initially. But once they are transferred to a new host, natural selection will eventually choose the more virulent and aggressive variants."

Yes, I saw that a few weeks ago and was irritated that the union chose to wait to strike until after the elections. I really agree that the nurses are being treated as dispensable as they are being give inadequate garments, etc. for a level 4 biohazard. Hopefully some inroads will be made on that glairing problem.

(Quotation marks above were added by me for clarification)

John, my point is: there is no BOGUS VACCINE for Ebola, because there is no vaccine for Ebola at all. Are you saying the Ebola virus was invented to get people to take vaccines for something else?

And if all vaccines are phony and Ebola is a hoax, why isn't there already a phony vaccine for Ebola?

> ...we EAT virtually ALL

I agree that most of the top 10 leading causes of death in the US and around the world are caused by diet, and these include the top 2 leading causes: heart disease and several types of cancer. (Top ten include "accidents" ).

However, viruses such as Ebola, infectious bacteria such as staff and E. Coli, parasites such as pinworms and giardia, and prions such as Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (Mad Cow Disease) do exist as well.

Smoking and other toxic environmental exposures also cause disease.

Genetics may cause diseases - hemophilia or sickle cell anemia for example.

Good diet prevents diet-related diseases and also contributes to disease resistance of the majority of other major diseases.

The next Ebola black swan?

..."Crop-friendly rains wash over West Africa from May to October, forming the growing season. These young men typically help with harvesting in their home villages from August to early October, but afterward head off for temporary jobs in artisanal gold mines in Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger and Ghana; cocoa nut and palm oil plantations in Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire; palm date harvesting and fishing in Mauritania and Senegal; and illicit charcoal production in Senegal, Mali, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Burkina Faso and Niger.

This migration is about to begin, even for young men whose villages have been recently hit by EVD. These workers find daily laborer jobs at $5 per day, half of which they remit to their families back home. Like their ancestors before them, they use little-known routes and layovers through forests to avoid frontier checkpoints. They usually have ECOWAS ID cards, providing free passage to all the member states of the Economic Community of West Africa States. It takes one to three days to travel from the EVD-affected countries to these work destinations. There is no need for Ebola to hop a ride on an airplane to move across Africa: It can travel by foot."...

Appreciated the video SueZ. Yeah, he makes a great point that the CDC and others should not be sending a message that everything is known about Ebola. I think what he says is true - that when the CDC has to change a policy after saying everything is known, people become afraid.

He discussed the temperatures too. And the migration is troubling. It shouldn't be a surprise that people aren't always going to use the most modern modes of transportation.

You're right. That didn't last long. And this apparently comes from a completely different source.

The earth seems to be spiraling into a spectacular Twilight Zone of crazy and stupid today.

"UN encourages travel to 'vibrant and alive' Ebola-hit West Africa, as death toll tops 5,000"

"UNITED NATIONS, United States (AFP) - The UN's Ebola czar on Wednesday encouraged tourists to visit West Africa, saying Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea were "vibrant and alive" and that contact with infected people was largely avoidable. "I want to encourage everybody to maintain travel, tourism even to places that have Ebola. There is just no reason not to go to Freetown, Monrovia, Conakry," David Nabarro, the UN coordinator on Ebola, told the UN Economic and Social Council. "These are cities which have got fabulous places for tourism. They are unfortunately not very full at the moment." - See more at: [www.straitstimes.com];...
